Its £30 in the UK, which is unfair seeing its $30 in the US and the exchange rate is £1 to $1.60

I've checked; Good point, that is unfair.

But the point still stands, we should stop price ranting.

S@H now has all new 2010 sets in the USA, except the two larger Power miners. The landspeeder is already on backorder! :oh:

Ya the luke landspeeder is for $25 and swamp speeder for $30. Prices were pretty much what we expected.

The swamp speeder goes for ~70$ USD in Sweden, I will not be getting that :cry_sad:

Whoa, wait, is that because of the exchange rate?

EDIT: Oops, sorry, I forgot; no price ranting!!!

Well this topic is about prices and the availability.

I think it's just a problem when people are still using the 2010 picture and rumour thread to discuss the prices where it doesn't belong. The Americans are especially bad for this, because they're the ones who never seem to realise that not everyone lives there and cares about their prices, especially because they pay a lot less than the rest of the world and apparently fail to realise that this is Eurobricks.

Since it apparently is imperative to a lot of members that prices and availability is to be commented on, then I've decided to pin this topic.

Now it should be easier to find that place to post your concerns on pricing, limited editions, availability and stuff like that.

I agree especially when they complain about something being over priced. I have to pay nearly double here in New Zealand and they complain that its just $10-$15 more than it should be.

I also cant buy the sets from an American store to get their prices because shipping makes up for the money I'm saving.

It cost 499 SEK wich would be like 69 USD today, and I think that is way to much for such a small set, even if I want that minifig :cry_sad:

I find most of the starwars sets to be nicely designed but the priceing is just rediculous . I could never pay 40.00 CND for a tiny swamp speeder that came out years ago in a larger set similar in price.

This is also going to be the one year that i will not buy battlepacks.

Welcome.

Too late. :hmpf:

I've moved the useless posts on availability and prices out of this topic.

Please people - read back a few pages and consider what's been posted.

I'm getting annoyed at asking you NOT TO COMMENT ON PRICES AND AVAILABILITY IN THIS TOPIC.

That has nothing to do with news, rumors and pictures and thus it doesn't belong here.

Feel free to discuss such concerns in this topic:

Not please don't make me say this again.

Perhaps throwing people in a dark place to contemplate what they post might be a solution?

(that was a rhetorical question not to be answered)

Quoted from the news topic.

The swamp speeder is another Lego pricing error - same as the green grocer and death star preorder (but in reverse)

it's $30 and £30 - the website guys have forgotten to convert prices

how it could be more than the landspeeder or echo base set, maybe Lego think the swamp speeder is a to die for set...

I so hope that you're right (about pricing error), if not there is no hope of getting it at a fair price...

The ARC-170 is already on backorder in the UK - I found out the hard way.

I put it in my cart, left it a few hours, (I was busy) then when I got back - POOF! - It was on backorder.

Still, I got the Swamp Speeder and the Rebel Trooper and Snow Trooper battlepacks instead! :classic:

I hope the price doesn't go down now. I don't want to feel like I've wasted money...

Oops! I was so used to commenting in the picture/rumor thread that I did that out of habit! KimT is watching you... :oh:

Sorry, but no! It's just as expensive across all non-US markets. In Aus it's $AUD59.99, so even more expensive at GBP33.

Anyway, LEGO only ever makes pricing corrections in one direction - UP! They never mark things down

In Australia, for example, this week they bumped up the price of the Tantive IV another $20 to $AUD299.99, making it only GBP166! (Just a little higher than your retail price of GBP99.99).

They did put a few sets on sale just after Christmas. ..Although they were mostly ones that were all already sold out. :hmpf:

Well, I don't think I have price ranted recently... so is it safe to say I apologize on the behalf of America? When we Americans see prices, we see it as $30 and 20 euros, so we think you're paying less, but when you do the math, 20 euros is $35-40! And I have no clue about the exchange rates of other countries... but sorry about that too?

Anyway, can anyone tell me, as Darthperson asked before, what store is the Swamp Speeder exclusive to?

I was on the US S@H and it said the Landspeeder was on backorder until Jan. 22. Did TLG list it as available at first or was it put on backorder right away? I don't know if TLG wants to release it later then the other set.

I think it was available. Well here on the New Zealand S@H it was and I did see it was while I was comparing the prices. I think it will be the most popular set of this wave.
