I have a question for all of you, regarding the availability of 2009 sets...err everywhere.

I went looking today, not very thoroughly but I went to Target and ToysRus (In the US, by the way) and there shelves were cleared, at Target there was nothing, however I did spot some Power Miners sets, that gave me a little hope. I went to ToysRus, saw more power miners sets but I did see the price tags for the AAT, RAS, both the battle packs, Ahsoka's starfighter, and Vaders Tie. So that means they were once there or will be there soon. However when I just checked the website they are all "out of stock" online. So I am asking you, are there any in your stores? Or is availability scarce everywhere? Anyway thanks! :classic:

Very similar to my experience Matteo; I went to Target first where they were down to a couple Indy sets and a whole lot of those $15 bulk brick tubs. I also happened to see the larger Power Miner set there.

TRU had most of the 08 stuff still on the shelf along with the entire Pirates line, I'd say about half the Power Miner sets and 1 Darth Vader's Tie, which I promptly bought. :classic: What was funny was that another AFOL I'm guessing asked me as I was heading to the cash register where I got it from, so I had to tell him the bad news.

How long does it usually take non pick-a-brick orders to ship off S@H? I ordered two of the new sets on Sunday and am hoping they arrive at my house (in the US) before I head back to school in two weeks.

Does anyone know if the 08' sets are still in? I neeed Anakin's starfighter to go with my Ahsoka's starfighter!

They usually clear sets from the first wave of the previous year in the next Janurary. In other words, sets like the Rouge Shadow and Anakin's JSF won't be available much longer, but sets like the RGS and AT-TE, or Ashoka's JSF and Vader's TIE, will.

Okay I'm getting desperate now but does anyone know if Kit Fisto is going to appear next year? :cry_sad:
Nope, nobody seems to know that he´ll appear next year. I would guess the 7748 to have Battle droids & Clones.

Two weeks should be plenty. Mine usually arrive in about a week, sometimes a day or two longer/less. Pick-a-brick, on the other hand, can take 2 weeks and sometimes even longer. Not sure if New Year's Day is a postal holiday, but that shouldn't affect it too much.

rcpeck, depending on where you are in the US it will take 3-8 days to ship to you. Generally if you're on the east or eastern-midwest you should get it in 3-5 days, or if you're in the western US or the furthest NE states (Maine, etc.) it could be 4-8 days...also, depending on snow etc.

Matteo Kenobi, if you can't use S@H just wait - the new Clone Wars sets are hot items due to their extensive advertising (for kids) and their high collectability (for adults). It might take you a little while, but you'll get them eventually - if you just can't wait for the stores to (re)stock, though, try Lego's online store; they've got most of the sets not sold out =D

Thank you posades and trexxen, I think I will just wait, I can imagine they will restock them some time soon, possibly next week. Thanks for the news and it seems like at least you posades had some better luck then me  However If I get to impatient I'll just order them off S@H since I have to get the Medieval Market Village off there anyway, thanks for the answers :classic:

I'm frustrated how Count Dooku's solar sailer is not avialable only in the US (as far as I know)!. It's the set I want most, despite much criticism. I know that only a few have them and the other countries are backordered, but we should see them too. Has anyone in the US been seeing this set anywhere in the US? Npone of my local Lego brand stroes have them either.

Very hard! Especially when it's your favourite set and practically the US is the only set not releasing this Limited Edition set but the other ones were. Remember what happened to the Echo base this year?

What limited set didn't the US release?

Stay cool people.

The wave is marked 2009 and we're not even there yet.

Let's not turn this into the same childish madness that occured just becuase the Fighter Tank wasn't in every single US store within 5 seconds after it's release.

Sets and themes are released by a specific time schedule. A few are released in the EU before anyone else, but that's only a few.

We haven't even gotten a single set from the new wave where I live.

But you wont hear me whine, I've got a full year to get these sets and they'll come...they always do.

Until then I just enjoy the EB reviews and the crying and whining in this topic.

Wasn't this topic intentionally meant as a way to find out where to get certain limited sets and older sets?

Not for hunting the just released sets

The next person who drops a question mark off a question is going to get whacked! Now, the Solar Sailor was spotted in Wal*Mart in Michigan. If you want it so badly, just go drive 400 miles to get the measly set 2 days before it comes on shop@home.

Of course, I am special enough to be drive 500 miles to get Anakin's starfighter and not be criticized.

And, don't bother looking in stores for Ahsoka's starfighter. Just order it on shop@home like I did!

UK Prices as follows:

Ashokas Fighter £29.35

Clone Battle Pack £9.79

Droid Battle Pack £9.79

Hyena Droid Bomber £19.55

AAT £39.15

Count Dookus Solar Sailer £39.15

You can see buy these prices that:

1. Lego are taking advantage of the Price Crunch :hmpf_bad:

2. They must have sat down and calculated it precisely, Most toys are estimated like £29.99, Not £29 and 1.424.52p...:sceptic:

Spotted a Darth Vader's Tie at Walmart today, and they also had the AT-AP walker $10 off. Of course their LEGO section was all messed up, but they did seem to have a fair bit of the '09 selections in.

It's actually the effect of the reduced VAT, as they say on S@H. Other online retailers have made the same adjustments.
