Big Cam Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Thanks for the information! I'll definitely have to go and buy something at Toys R Us. And no need to feel ridiculous Oky Wan - I own the magnet set and I feel the same way. EDIT: One interesting thing worth pointing out is that the minifig has a blaster rifle instead of a sniper rifle: Have a great Pi Day everyone! I'm curious, how did you get that link??? I cna't search for it. I wonder becasue I'm trying to find the new Toy Story promo polybag the same way to see if I can buy it on line. Quote
RocketClone Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Thankfully you can get these for $2.99, I got 3 of them. (yes it does depend on where you live) And as far as quality is concerned it's good, but certain parts of the inside aren't chromed though. (like one inside part of a leg) Quote
Sid Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I keep forgetting to pass by one of my local TRU. I'm lucky I have 3 within 15-20min. I think I'll just get a clone battle pack instead of buying 4 separately. Do you guys think these will become "rare" in the future? Quote

But if you look at other sets that was all over the place in the past and what they are worth today you might get an idea. But it is not even a certain thing to follow. 7201 could be bought 3 for 10 $ at one time. Even think they were cheaper than that at one point. Cheapest one now new and sealed is 15 $ 7115 was another set that was all around back in the days. No one really wanted it. Today the cheapest is 40 $. Then there has been this one (not a battle pack) were the cheapest today is 373.5 $. There was loads of those at one point all from 30-35 $ If I had a crystal ball back then I would be rich today Quote

Plus when they retail for $2.99 and bricklink already has them for $10-15, I think they'll be worth money if kept in the bag. Quote
prateek Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 (edited) Home One is 14% off at StarWars.com Sorry if this is in the wrong place. I was thinking to put it in BSTF, but I felt that it would be more useful here. Edited March 18, 2010 by prateek Quote

MillerTime Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 (edited) I definetaly do. My Toys R Us is out of them now. Plus when they retail for $2.99 and bricklink already has them for $10-15, I think they'll be worth money if kept in the bag. I disagree. The magnets are $10, which is why these prices are up to the prices of a magnet one. These came in limited quantities and are probably sold out of the vast majority of TRUs already. Obviously, when there's a certain demand for a fig at $10 (the magnet one) and a cheaper price comes about (for the new one) in quantities not large enough to suite everyone's needs, the price on the new one will climb until it reaches the price of the old one. (it's a substitute good) So saying they've "tripled in price already" is a bit uhh, overstating it. It's at the same exact price as it's retailing for because it's still being sold at S@H. Also, I think so many people are hording the magnets up that it will take years for the prices to rise, but like any star wars set the price will go up eventually. It all depends on the amount of supply, and this time around there's so many people who are willing to resell them later on that I don't think they'll go up very fast at all. I understand your point, and it's a good one. But I stand by my tripled in price quote becasue in fact it did. The magnet is a Chrome fig with a magnet, where this is just the fig and at one point was available for $2.99, therefore, triple that and you get $9, Being that I bought some for $3 each and now they are worth roughly $10, they have in fact tripled in price. Also a small update from what I've been reading and my experience buying the last one from my Toys R Us store, I think this promo has been exhausted, and likely isn't available anywhere. Quote
Oky Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 Yeah, I just checked back into my local TRU in the hope they restocked on them, but they didn't, and they told me they would get any anymore. Oh well, at least I got two of them. I was considering opening and keeping one of them but seeing their worth already tripling, I think I'll keep it MISB and hold on to it for a while. Quote
Big Cam Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I just got the latest LEGO catalog adn the Endor set is no longer in there, is that a sign that it's time is nearing an end? Quote
Alldarker Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I just got the latest LEGO catalog adn the Endor set is no longer in there, is that a sign that it's time is nearing an end? I actually recently bought one extra of this set just because I got the feeling that this excellent set is becoming less and less common in shops. There have of course been enough instances of sets only being available for a relatively limited period, this might indeed be one of those sets. Quote
Sid Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Not sure if this goes here, but will LEGO ever release another Luminara? I really want one. But would rather not pay $50 for one. Quote
FinalFeature Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Not sure if this goes here, but will LEGO ever release another Luminara? I really want one. But would rather not pay $50 for one. It could possibly be released as a magnet or keychain. Or as a clone wars luminara in a clone wars set. Quote

Clone OPatra Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 I just got the latest LEGO catalog adn the Endor set is no longer in there, is that a sign that it's time is nearing an end? I know this was posted yesterday (so long ago), but I'd still like to reply. If I remember correctly, the Endor set wasn't in the January US catalog either. Similarly, I recall completely that 7666 Hoth Door with More only appeared in one US catalog, but was still around for several months, though not too long. Still, Big Cam, I'd not wait any longer to order or go to a store and buy the Endor set. It's nearing a year since its release, and as a well-selling set it may not be available much longer. Just go buy it and put your mind at ease. Quote

Toysrus in Canada has almost the same promotion going on this week until april 11. Only thing is valid instores only and you have to spend $30 to get a chrome stormtrooper. Quote
Destroydacre Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 I just got the latest LEGO catalog adn the Endor set is no longer in there, is that a sign that it's time is nearing an end? Possibly, but I personally don't think so. I think it's not listed because Lego doesn't have any in stock. If you look at S@H it's back ordered. Two new sets, Luke's Landspeeder and the Imperial Flagship, are also back ordered and are not listed in the spring catalog. However these sets are nowhere close to being discontinued. I think that's why Endor is not listed in the catalog. Quote

mutley777 Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 when will Clone Walker Battle Packs stop being made? Might have been already! The actual factory production of this set could very well be over and stores are just buying up the surplus TLC stock. However, demand could keep it going longer. Quote
Oky Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Hello there. Just wanted to let everybody know that I found some Magna Guard Starfighters and V19 Torrents in my local Borders and Books store. If you're still interested in buying those, you might be able to find them there. Quote

I think there is definetaly some stock left though, my local Target was out of LEGO for a while and then one day they were fully stocked, and had rows and rows of all 4 recent battlepacks. Dfenz Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Its a bit strange to be posting re US availability from Ireland but if anyone near San Jose California is looking for the Target Easter mini star wars sets my aunt yesterday picked up a few 30050 sets brought out of a store room at the Sunnyvale Target (upon request). They weren't on the shop floor. As others have commented these sets are generally not in the Lego section but hidden amongst a truckload of Duplo - she had to scrummage a bit to find a few remaining 30051 sets at Target Westgate.
