Star Wars sets anyone?

After 10+ years of Star Wars Lego there is so much to choose from!! Still a lot of older sets are available for a reasonable price, so at the moment I'm like a 10 year old child in a way too big candy-store... Take this one? Hmmm or maybe this one? Oh no wait! I want that one! Or... Allright you get the point. If only my monthly income would be up to my spending behaviour

Hello there Lego fans,

I'm new here and since this is my first post, I will introduce myself shortly. My name is Sven, 25 years young and I live in Holland (The Netherlands). Besides my re-start with Star Wars Lego I do a lot with High End audio and video. Two weeks back I bought my first Star Wars set which is the UCS 10178 AT-AT. Not the most accurate, but still very much fun to build and play with. This triggered me for wanting more and more! So today I ordered the UCS 10179 Millenium Falcon for Eur 579,-. Probably one of the last below the Eur 600,- in Europe. I'm doubting if I want to buy a second one and keep it sealed for the future when prices will rise. Further more I would like to ask which sets are absolute must-haves? Mostly only sets from the original trilogy interests me.

I'd also concur with the current X-Wing--definite must have. As would be Vader's Tie Advanced.

And although you have a UCS AT AT, I'd recommend the Motorized AT AT as well--a unique model that will be highly coveted once it disappears this summer.

Hmm am I mixed up now? I have the latest motorized version of the AT-AT. This is the 10178. Isn't this the UCS version? Since the only other AT-AT I know is the older (in my opinion better looking) 4483 Lego set.

I understand your confused about this. On the Lego online shop it's listed under the UCS section but I really doubt this is correct seeing Tantive IV and the Dropship are also listed there. If you look at the UCS Millenium Falcom the text "Ultimate Collectors" is part of the name which is not the case with the 10178 AT-AT, 10198 Tantive IV, etc.

to my knowledge there is no UCS AT-AT made by Lego so far.

It's a modification of the falcon. The official version doesn't have any interior at all.

I bought 3 days ago the General ship and the Turbotank in a Toy'r'us (France, north), they had only 2 sets available and few number of them. I suppose others TRU have/will have them too soon.

Bringing what I think is turning into a price discussion in the Rumor thread to the proper place, the $50 USD for Cad Bane's Speeder as reported in the first post of the Rumors thread doesn't seem too bad. Obviously, for a price range below 400 $40 would be the perfect price, but with all of the lovely minifigures and the excellently designed ship, $50 seems ok too.

Certainly much better than the Swamp Speeder. That thing price-wise is the worst!

I think this set (8128) will be $50..

I would expect this set to be around Euro 65 based on amount of pieces and the price difference between EU and US will translate into a $50 per set.

You never know. In January the rumors page had the battle packs listed at $15 in the US, but they retailed for $11 so the $50 for this set is not guaranteed. However it does appear that Lego's prices are starting to revert back to what they were pre 2002 ish.

Well, I know a lot of people already have the sets and have assumed they'll be available everywhere next month, but it's nice to have the official word.

During the event at the National Space Centre, celebrating the 30th Anniversary of ESB they mentioned that the Slave 1, Wampa Cave and AT-AT will be available next month. (and obviously all the non ESB sets too)
