Brickdoctor Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 Wait - I though 7879 was going to be $100 TRU price? (not that I'm complaining) Does anyone know if this is TRU starting the set at MSRP, or is $90 the TRU price? Because if it's the latter, MSRP could be $80, which wouldn't be a bad deal for 773 pieces. Quote
Rhodes81 Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 good that they're finally getting here but i think i'll wait for target to get them and see what the prices are. is the republic frigate a tru exclusive? if not that's what my money is going for. i also want the ewoks and that red protocol droid but i'll just ebay him. Republic Frigate is not a TRU exclusive, the Hoth base is. Quote
mutley777 Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Looks like the new star wars sets are finally available to order in the UK. Woolworths online store has all the sets ready for delivery. I got my first summer set today Ewok Attack from woolworths today so they are shipping. Better still I got a free Star Wars 2011 limited edition minifig poster! Quote
Vindice Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Thanks for the info Mutley, I was thinking of ordering the podracers from woolworths today for my little boy. They seem to have most sets in. I'm baffled as to why there is nothing showing up yet in TRU, Argos or even S@H....... Quote

I'm baffled as to why there is nothing showing up yet in TRU, Argos or even S@H....... Me too... Amazon UK had been coming up with none of the new releases either. Frustrating! Quote
TheBrickDaddy Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 TRU.com has taken down the new Star Wars, Ninjago and Spongebob in the USA Quote
StoutFiles Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 TRU.com has taken down the new Star Wars, Ninjago and Spongebob in the USA They probably had complaints from people trying to find the sets in stores. It was likely a mix up to even put those sets online before you start selling them. Quote

Um...how have you been searching for these for ages when they just came out(most areas, anyways). For the US release. Is it gong to be early, mid, or late August? Hopefully early August, that way TRU will get them in late July. Quote

Because if it's the latter, MSRP could be $80, which wouldn't be a bad deal for 773 pieces. One thing to consider is that even though the listing is up they don't seem to be actually for sale at the moment. My guess is they are getting ready to put them for sale and are creating the listings early. It's possible that the price may be "corrected" if it is indeed an error of some kind. I recall a similar situation with the Masterpiece Grimlock Transformer that was a TRU exclusive. The expected price was $59.99 IIRC, but they had it listed for a few days for $49.99. I may be off on the actual prices, but the point is that they had it for sale initially at a lower price. The item sold as a pre-order and went out of stock in a short period of time. When it came back into stock on the actual release day it was up to the higher price that was originally expected. Could have been a simple mistake at the TRU website. I can't really say for sure. But, they did honor the pre-order price for those that already had it on order. Not saying that's going to happen in this case, but this reminded me of what happened before. Quote

How and where is spelling/grammar a must? Surely your not going to pick fault with everyones post just because the odd word is spelt wrong?? Why is it all these forums end up in a moaning and bitching contest, doesn't make sense, it was my first post and I only became a member so I could post that a certain catalogue had them in stock and that you could save some money and before you know it im being accussed of peddling my site ( lol wish I did own catalogue site, i'd be rich and have no time to post on here )and then moaned at for posting in wrong section with poor grammer, well thanks guys I was just trying to help people out, next time I wont bother.. I cant name the catalogue as I had in my original post and got accussed of peddling. Edited July 8, 2011 by r74 Quote
