Fallenangel Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 (edited) How and where is spelling/grammar a must? It serves as an indicator that people actually put some care into their posts, and this is especially important on sites like Eurobricks where people share MOCs. Besides, on an online forum, wouldn't you want to voice your opinion as clearly as possible? Why is it all these forums end up in a moaning and bitching contest, doesn't make sense, it was my first post and I only became a member so I could post that a certain catalogue had them in stock and that you could save some money and before you know it im being accussed of peddling my site ( lol wish I did own catalogue site, i'd be rich and have no time to post on here )and then moaned at for posting in wrong section with poor grammer, well thanks guys I was just trying to help people out, next time I wont bother.. My advice? Take a look at the forum before posting. Edited July 9, 2011 by fallenangel309 Quote
Vindicare Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 It had that the last time they were online. They aren't here yet... Yeah, I just went to my local TRU. Nothing on the shelves or in the back, bummer. Quote
anti-hero Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 (edited) Saw a report on Rebelscum that they were in the states and sure enough, called my TRU (St Louis, MO) and they had them. I'm now the proud owner of 7965! Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic... https://www.t-mobilepictures.com/myalbum/thumbnail/photo25/4a/71/61d8e9eb3d43__1310362137000.jpg?tw=315&th=210&s=true They had spots for everything and at least one of all but the sith speeder set. All the prices matched what TRU.com had last week, including the infiltrator for 69.99. Edited July 11, 2011 by anti-hero Quote
LegoBen Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 (edited) I want the podracers sooo bad :) It looks like your wish has come true. I am in the US and it seems TRU has updated the website and it says you can order the Pod Racers RIGHT NOW! Check it out (Hope it does not get sold out). Other new sets are also available. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11798873 I just wish they had the falcon or sith infiltrator in stock. I bet it's coming soon! They basically have in stock right now (9:13 AM Central Time): Sith Nightspeeder Ewok Attack Geanosian Starfighter Anakin and Sebulbas Podracers Edited July 11, 2011 by LegoBen Quote
Vindicare Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 Nice, good to finally hear were heating them in the States. Quote
The Legonater Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 Blast- and when I just spent a chunck of my money on Cad Bane's Speeder too! Oh well, I'm just going to have to replan things.... Quote

There may have been tags for them though, I was pretty excited about the Falcon so I may have missed them. Sorry for the mistake! Edited July 12, 2011 by anti-hero Quote
StoutFiles Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Went to my Toys R Us and they weren't there, nothing in the back either. Said they were getting two shipments on Wednesday and Friday so maybe then. Oh well. I'd rather buy the sets at Walmart/Target without the TRU markup...but are they going to get the sets soon? Is it normal for Toys R Us to get sets so much sooner than the other major retail stores? That puts TRU at a HUGE advantage. Quote
anti-hero Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Went back to TRU today and they had already raised the prices. Just checked the site and they're higher there now as well. Falcon - $149.99 (usd) Frigate - $129.99 Podracers - $94.99 Infiltrator - $74.99 Sith Nightspeeder - $26.99 Ewok Attack - $26.99 Geonosian Fighter - $32.99 Neither of the TRUs I've found them at have had the Echo Base set (now 94.99 on TRU.com) or the Naboo fighter. The_Chosen_1 Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 The Toys R Us markups are absolutely ridiculous. Not as bad as some stores like ShopKo ($60 Wampa Cave? $100 Slave 1??? Please...) but it's still a despicable business practice. I wish LEGO would stop partnering with them and encouraging it. Quote

I've noticed that the Walmart.com price is sometimes lower than the Walmart in store price. Not sure why, but I know the Slave I is a good example of this. As far as TRU getting sets first. It seems to be the case, although, I've noticed the lag varies from set to set. I saw the Creator Lighthouse, City Space, and Alien Conquest sets several weeks earlier at TRU. Now Target has seem to have caught up and Walmart getting Alien Conquest 3rd. This will vary with region of course. The good thing is my local Lego store always gets things first or at least at the same time as TRU. Quote
MightyMegs Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 (edited) Just got an email from TRU.com saying they didn't have enough Sith Infiltrators to fill my order. Of one. Oh well, it's not one of the ones I really wanted badly... that would be the Falcon. Between the cancelation and the price-raise, I'm going to wait and get them all from Lego's site... even if TRU gets them first. Plus, I'll get the VIP Points. anti-hero Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 I wonder how long it will take the Naboo Figher to makes it's way to the States. I'm a bit worried it may be like Mace Windu's JSF and have a long delay getting here. No reason to suspect that other than it's not out yet, just a bit concerned since that's a fav of mine. The Toys R Us markups are absolutely ridiculous. Not as bad as some stores like ShopKo ($60 Wampa Cave? $100 Slave 1??? Please...) but it's still a despicable business practice. I wish LEGO would stop partnering with them and encouraging it. I certainly don't consider it despicable (if they can charge more and have people pay it more power to them). I just wonder why they always wait a couple days after they hit to raise the prices. I'm not complaining about that, just seems odd they wouldn't have the markup already loaded into the system. Quote

A day after TRU cancelled my order for the Sith Infiltrator saying they didn't have enough to fill orders... it's suddenly back in stock at the higher price. Is that even legal? That is interesting. I got on there a few minutes ago and TRU website said it was in stock. When I clicked on it though, it was out of stock. I wonder if someone just bought the only one right before I clicked on it? As for being legal or not, they probably have the power to do whatever they want whenever they want. So they are probably not in the wrong even though it might feel that way. Just my two cents. Quote

If it became a legal issue they would just say they ran out of product at the lower price. Or something like that. The fact is there's no way you could win that case. I was willing to buy at TRU before the markup, but now I can wait. I refuse to pay their marked up prices, even if the other stores have to wait till August for the new sets. Quote

I am to impatient and greedy to care. Speaks volumes about my personality. I think.. Quote

It puts them at a huge advantage, especially when you consider their markup. Quote

LegoBen Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 (edited) Alright guys. I went to my TRU today in Oklahoma City (Oklahoma) and they had all OLD sets available. I was depressed. I then drove over to the TRU in Norman (Oklahoma) and they had the new sets stocked! I was excited to say the least. I picked up the Falcon at 139.99 (I assume my TRU has not put the traditional 10 dollar price hike for some reason yet). I got the last one!!!! I missed it the first time it came out. I also picked up the Sith Infiltrator for 69.99. They had plenty of stock on all of the other new sets. I did not see the Naboo Fighter (not even really sure if that is suppose to be a new set or not). Usually where I live, it takes a while for things to get in stock since Oklahoma is centrally located. It seems like the coasts get everything first. Since I found it in Oklahoma, I can imagine most others would be able to find what they were looking for at their local TRU wherever they lived. Granted, I had to go to two different ones. Start the search guys! Good Luck! Edited July 14, 2011 by LegoBen Quote

MightyMegs Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 Please hurry LegoShop.com.... I want to give you a bunch of $. Quote
wokajablocka Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 Hay all, as SW Lego holds the most value Id like to here about your stories of getting that awsome set of fig you wanted for ages at a cheap price. I just won on ebay a Boba Fett from Cloud City for $8. It was missing the original legs and replaced by sand green (not even original Boba legs) but has the printed arms so im happy. Ive seen the torso for about $50 alone on bricklink. Now im just after the legs. Bricklink has this for about $170 compleate, so I tought I got a great deal. I also picked up nearly 4kg of Lego second hand from the traiding post for $40 on the same weekend. It had no instructions but using peeron I managed to get nearly all the original sets together and most are 99% complete (hours of fun). I had 27 sets all up but they where all small to medium sets. I found that I had 7143, 7200, 7201. 4486, 7250, 7667 and 7203 in the SW line. Seven SW sets and 4 of them I didnt have so I thought I was extremly lucky to get such a bargin. Also got other themed sets. 3 Spider man sets and 2 Harry potter sets. Quote
