mutley777 Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Man... I never knew Argos had that much sway. Well it might not just be argos but I know they are a big player. Tesco also are having a clearout for their new catalogue coming soon as do most other catalogue firms this time of year. Quote
Solscud007 Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 I hope this helps you guys too. This is a Toys R Us special offer. I am a TRU Rewards member. I just got an email for 20% off ANY ONE regular-priced item. the coupon is good tomorrow Friday 22 - Saturday 23. I just got 7965 Millenium Falcon and 7879 Hot Special Edition set. Millenium Falcon is $149.99 when I scanned it (however the shelf said $139.99 So they honored that price. The Hoth Set is 94.99. There is a BOGO 50% off for SW Lego sets at TRU. Ends Saturday 23. So I paid $140 + $47.5 for the two sets. Total with tax came to $203. Since I am driving early tmw morning, Im worried I wont find these where I will be going. However I will return them, then buy them back with the 20% off coupon. That will make the sets $112 + $47.5 which comes to about $172 with tax. So I will save $30!!! Quote
djmangunz Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Yeah, I don't think that you will. With the 20% off coupon you can't typically stack it with any other offer. So you got a much better deal with the bogo promo than the other coupon. I would advise against taking them back and just enjoy the deal you got. Quote

It says, in bold, "Not valid with any other "R" Us offer for same item or on prior purchases." Quote
will Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 For the UK people - Woolies have reduced the price of the new summer sets. Just ordered the Falcon for £120 ex del. The podracers are £74. Also toys r us have got a 20% off coupon for this weekend only. Use 9908089419991 Enjoy :) Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Woolies are great - next day delivery + can specify the time. 10% off and even got the minifig poster. I didn't even realise they were still going as a retailer! Quote
mutley777 Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Woolworths online (UK) now has 20% off all toys. Not bad if you want to pick up the 5 new star wars sets they have now. just use the code EPRPH at the checkout. Quote
Thego Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 (edited) TRU in Southampton had 7879 Hoth Echo Base today. Not that anyone is particularly enamoured with it on here. Edited July 29, 2011 by Thego Quote
MiniJunkie Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 TRU in Southampton had 7879 Hoth Echo Base today. Not that anyone is particularly enamoured with it on here. In Canada I found many of the new sets at TRU southside in Edmonton, AB (picked up MF, R Frigate, Sith Infiltrator). But they dont seem to carry the Sith Nightspeeder (hope I got the name right) and I really like the minifigs in that one. Anyone know of a Canadian retailer carrying that particular set? TRU doesnt have it on their website either (nor the Naboo fighter). Quote

Good shout, ordered #7964 Republic Frigate yesterday lunchtime and arrived at 10am this morning, was only £82.40 with the 20% disc, wished I waited with ordering #7965 Millenium Falcon although I did get 10% and nothing to pay till 12 months so least its not 2 big purchases close together. I still dont understand how you can get these sets way before the actual lego shop or toys r us can get them? The next dilemma is which one to build first????? Quote
mutley777 Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 The new star wars sets have finaly arrived in the UK high street stores with the new Argos catalogue out today. They have the Falcon, Pod Racers, Republic Frigate, Sith Infiltrator, Ewok Attack, Sith Nightspeeder and the Naboo Star fighter. Also worth a mention is that in the catalogue it said the SW advent calendar was coming soon. Still no sign of which store will have the Geonsian Fighter yet. Still the woolies 20% offer make the 5 sets they have much more appealing. Quote

mutley777 Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 I was in the lego store at London Westfield today and as I was paying at the till, when a member of staff walked pass with a fully built Hoth base set. I said the guy serving me "That was not on the shelves!". He then told me that the Star Wars sets were going on sale tomorrow and the Hoth set was going to be £91! It did look better in the flesh but I am not to sure about that price point. The set ended up in a store display case so I got to have a real good look at it and those great new figs. Quote
Lobot Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Tesco Direct have the new sets available. There's currently 20% off all of them, and the starting prices are a little lower than Woolies! The sort option looks a little messed up, if you sort High - Low it doesn't work very well....so just keep scrolling! The Podracer set is £79.97, but after the 20% discount it should be £63.98, total bargain! Quote
Lobot Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 The new sets are now available in the UK from Lego.com. The price for Echo base is £91.99, so I think that I’ll be waiting for that one to go on sale! The other prices are in line with the pre-discounted ones from Amazon etc. Tesco Direct seem to have the best deals at the moment (slightly less than the retail, plus a further 20% off). Quote
sharky Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 I noticed that walmart.com has a pre-order for the Lego Star Wars Character Encyclopedia. The release date on the listing says 9/19/2011. A little higher price than Amazon, but you can get free shipping to your local Walmart. It's up to you to decide what's a better deal as you can get free shipping on Amazon if you order more than $25 of eligible items. http://www.walmart.com/ip/15698995 Quote
Vindice Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 I was in Legoland last Monday and I'm sure the Hoth set was available for £79.99 could be wrong on that as i only took a quick glance at it. Quote
AngryChair Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 (edited) I'm going to have to think long and hard about the Echo Base. I wasn't overly impressed with the design but I sure like that Bacta tank and figures..! I also think when we refer to Woolies in relation to SW sets we should now call the store 'Wookies'.! (just a thought) Edited August 4, 2011 by AngryChair Quote
Vindice Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 I do agree on the Bacta tank. It'll be interesting to know how this set sales as it is far more like a traditional city playset that the kids go for in a big way. If it goes well, we may see a lot more like it. Wookies is a much better name, maybe they wouldnt have had all their financial problems if they'd had a better name. Quote
Masked Builder Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Anyone know where to get Mace Windu's Starfighter? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Anyone know where to get Mace Windu's Starfighter? Shop@Home has it, as do the Brand Stores. Quote
Vindicare Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Anyone know where to get Mace Windu's Starfighter? I'm guessing it's a Wal Mart exclusive(?). I say this because I was in TRU a few days ago and they had all the new sets minus that. Then, of course the N-1is a Target exclusive. So, that leaves Wal Mart. Just a guess, though. Quote
Big Cam Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 I was just at Target and they had all the new SW stuff. Not sure about mace's star fighter, I wasn't paying that close of attention, but they didn't have the new stuff last week. Although I'm sure this varies by state, region, etc. Quote
Ogre Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 From Toys 'n' Bricks Facebook page: [uSA] LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar – Now at Amazon If you miss out on getting the LEGO Star Wars 7958 Advent Calendar from ToysRUs last month, not to worry! Forum member WELOVELEGO informs us that Amazon.com now has it instock. Quote
Kaitan Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Tesco in the uk are selling the midi star destroyer at 15.99 - nearly half price! At least that's the price in my local store :) Kaitan Quote
