AmiPolizeiFunk Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 An Amazon seller called "Rae-N-Ray's Toy Box" has Death Star 10188's for $320. Is this too good to be true? Quote
drdavewatford Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Just checked LEGO shop@home, and the SSD is showing as available in the UK and USA ! Enjoy ! Dr. D. Quote
22kane Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 I'm really on the fence about this one. I just can't make up my mind. Now, the new Millenium Falcon is another story. It's also a hell of a lot cheaper. Quote
StephenC Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Any idea where an Australian can get one of these for anything less than double the price of everybody else? Quote
StoutFiles Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 I will wait till late October for the early Christmas deals. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Great news to those who're planning on getting this one! I'll let this topic open for some time before merging this with the existing SW Sets Availanility thread later. Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Cool that it's available! But I have no need to rush out and get it. It'll be available for a few years, that's plenty of time to wait it out for a sale. Quote
mr_saber Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 looks like most people are waiting it out for a sale to come... or will it get snap up quickly? i am not sure what to do because i am sure it will be sold as a premium price when it landed where i am, but hefty shipping cost is preventing me to buy it too Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 (edited) I just checked S@H for Oz......699....ouch 700 bucks, oh man, I heard a story only days ago that this was going to be 699. But the rest of the story I'm having trouble with believing because it's third hand and sounds too far fetched.....that in a few months it will be available at Kmart in Australia as a store exclusive......I don't believe it at all. Has any other Aussie heard similar stories. Quick edit - Kmart have just comfirmed that they ARE NOT going to be selling this set this year, handy what a phone call does eh ? P4trickvH Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Also available in the Netherlands for 399.99 EURO. Quote
andibandit Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 wow, it's like 66euro cheaper in Holland than in Denmark Quote
starstreak Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 I, at first didn't want this set. Now it's growing on me. But, I just bought all the other SW sets. My wife is already ready to cut my card up. lol. Quote
cavegod Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Well i'm still not buying it, poor design and overpriced, probably cheaper to bricklink the parts and in better colours too! Quote
Anio Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Well i'm still not buying it, poor design and overpriced, probably cheaper to bricklink the parts and in better colours too! Yes. And I would not be suprised if it is on sale in few next months, like 10215 last year. Quote
drdavewatford Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Well i'm still not buying it, poor design and overpriced, probably cheaper to bricklink the parts and in better colours too! LOL ! You old misery, Pete ! For us mere mortals without the time, inclination (and skill ?) to MOC like you can this is a neat model. Although I certainly agree that it's overpriced.... Dr. D. Quote
Darth Dino Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Hi what do you guess for how long will the SSD available from Lego? E.G. how long was that 10179 available for recomended list prices? I am not sure to purchase the SSD after reading the forum. For that price i could get two actual MF and a ton of grey bricks from BL for aditional 100€... As i wrote before i am also thinking about the SSD because of the parts - i am not planning to buy and to display it for the rest of my life... But i think the SSD will contains a lot of parts that gives me the availbility to do something new (spaceships) without running out of parts so fast. Dino Quote
Willdog Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 I'm in a Australia too and 700 is a no go for me. Nor am I an epic MOCer. I've already started planning my brick linking plus i'm surprised at how many parts i've already got. Quote

Next on my list is the Death Star II if I can afford it...and maybe the UCS Jedi Fighter. Quote
Destroydacre Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Yes. And I would not be suprised if it is on sale in few next months, like 10215 last year. I think so too, I'm just hoping the sale will match that of the Delta 7 (30% off). Quote
AFOL SF Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 ...I, too, am holding in buying this set... not that I have the funds right now but I'm sure TLC will have some 'incentives' down the road to boost the sale of this set for the rest of us... not to mention, Black Friday discount cards at the Lego stores... I'm going to try and get it in th US and get a friend to ship it to me if I can organise it. Quote
Gokey Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 If anyone has this and already built this, can you post some pictures doing some size comparisons to other sets? It's hard for me to imagine its size lol I've seen a few pics from gimmelego that really helped though. Quote

Solscud007 Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 (edited) Walked into my local Lego Store and saw the Super Star Destroyer on the shelf, along with the SW Advent calender. It is HUGE!!! The SSD box. Edited August 31, 2011 by Solscud007 Quote
