inquisitor88 Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 (edited) Hi everybody! Does anyone know anything about release status of these sets ? I think this year is the last time for the 10198, but it is expected on shop.lego.com in january, may be it still alive some time else. And i can't understand why 8129 was too limited and now deleted from shop.lego.com This model is not beautifull like 4483 and may be this is the reason of low interesting about this set. May be TLG will rerelease AT-AT in the nearly future? I need to know - to spend or not to spend money for 8129 and 10198, each of which costs in our country nearly $200-220, or may be better to buy 10212 for $280. mutley777 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 I received my Jan lego catalogue with all the new star wars sets listed. Prices are official UK GBP prices. Gold Leaders Y-wing 458 parts £59.99 Tie Fighter 413 parts £49.99 X-wing Starfighter 560 parts £49.99 Anakin's Jedi Interceptor 300 parts £35.99 Geonosian Cannon 132 parts £19.99 Droid Escape 137 parts £19.99 Endor BP 77 parts £11.99 Clone Droid BP 98 parts £11.99 Planet sets £9.99 Not sure if it is just me but the Y-wing seems very over priced. I get that it has more larger parts and so costs are higher but even so. The last Y-wing was £40 and ended up on sale for half price nearly everywhere! Quote

I'm not sure of the status but as a rule of thumb, it's never a bad idea to purchase sets when they're still available. You'll regret it if the sets are discontinued and you're forced to purchase them on the secondary market. The motorized AT-AT was readily available last year but once LEGO discontinued and put that set on clearance, people were scrambling to find it. The prices skyrocketed instantly. Quote
Oky Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 I received my January Catalog as well, and it says that all the new sets will be available for pre-order on Jan 1 and will ship Jan 30. Also, they have a pre-order offer where you get a free poster with a trench run scene on the front and pics of all the minifigs from this wave on the back. Quote
Oky Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Sure enough, the sets are now available for pre-order. Also, I spotted 30053 Venator at Target today, which I believe is a promo that was only available in the UK until now. Quote

Any ideas when we will see the droid escape in retail stores like TRU? Quote

Brickdoctor Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Oky, the Venator has been out for a while. Since before Xmas. Yeah, I saw a lot of them at Targets in my area before Christmas. Quote

I didn't see it mentioned anywhere on here, so I thought I'd throw it out there. Well, all the 2012 will be available in Lego Stores starting in February, so that's when they should be out in other stores as well, but TRU might have them a week or two earlier as usual. Quote
Destroydacre Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Don't forget, pounds are worth more than American Dollars. Right now, one pound is worth 1.5400 in US money. Just type in "GBP USD" into Google. Right which means that the Y-Wing is priced ridiculously higher in Britain than it is here in the States. If it costs $50 USD here in the USA, then it should cost about £32.50. Instead the price is £60 in Britain which equates to about $92.50, or almost double the USA selling price. I know the prices of Lego sets in Europe has been complained about on here ad nauseum, however people in Britain are really getting the shaft on the Y-wing. Quote

I guess that Lego have to fix the exchange rate at some point, and this does vary a lot. The Y-wing is actually available in the UK via the Lego website for £49.99 (link here), so it's not too bad! Lego also tend to stick to the original selling price throughout the release period of most sets, which I think they deserve credit for. Quote
