Hi everyone,

I'm 42 years old and I guess I'm one of the old farts here on the board.

I have a two years old daughter and nearly a year back we started buying Lego stuff for her. I grew up with Lego, so we thought this would be a good idea to do the same with her.

While standing right in front of the Lego shelf MY very first set was the Technic Tow Truck (8285). It's still one of my favorites. And I believe I'm addicted now. I bought more and more Lego Sets for me and other sets for my daughter; during the last twelve months I listed more than 100 sets on brickset.com.

After buying more and more Technic sets I looked for the other themes. Star Wars of course (I'm one of the people who saw the very first SW in cinema back in 1977). Then Indiana Jones, Sponge Bob, City ....

To make a long story short: I prefer big sets. The bigger the better (number of bricks, not box size). I like to build one set for a couple of hours. My biggest passion are the CREATOR-Sets (number of parts/reasonable price, lots of ideas)

I like stuff like the SW Sand Crawler (10144), the Imperial AT-ST (10174), the Dino Air Tracker (7298), Creator Town House (4954), several Technic Sets like the Fork Lift (8416), Truck 8436, Off Road Truck (8273) any many more.

Thanks for reading.

I'm from Dortmund, Germany. Sorry, forget to mention it.

I also collect diecast models and when I had to find a username for this board I looked at a 1:24 Sunstar London Bus, a Routemaster. That's it.

Hi and welcome to our community!

You have a 2-year-old daughter and one year back you started buying LEGO sets for her? Does that really mean she got her first LEGO sets when she was only one-year-old? If I had children and if they were so young, I would only buy Duplo stuff for them. They are too young for LEGO because they may swallow the parts. Quite a health risk for young children.
