Lights are no problem, they are available in Control+ system for some time already, but in case of speed? No, I don't think we'll see here anything new in case of motors.

However to make them both front and back, they'd occupy two ports on the hub, leaving only one available for the drive motor - not enough for a car that's meant to be fast.

So something new is needed here. At the very least a bigger version of this.

Or a splitter for powered up plugs, or maybe its not powered up...

It sounds nice and all, but only a review/video will decide its fate in me. Also, quite sad it's been 11 years since the last lighting in a Technic set (41999), even more (16 years) since a widely released one, the 8297.

That "fastest remote-controlled LEGO set of all time" is a very interesting statement, especially because the set seems to contain a brand new rechargeable battery, 3.6V & 2100 mAh. It will sit in a new integrated hub which contains 3 motors, similar to the Boost hub. Here's a video with all the details I could find:

But it looks like mouldsh*t's all-in-one hub which is basically copy of boost hub's form factor.
Sadly, that new hub looks much worse to use on other thing more than mouldsh*t's.

Oh, so we actually know what that hub will look like! Very interesting, but the all-in-one nature of the hub is disappointing. I wonder how much power it'll actually have!

Looking forward to watching that video

This new integrated hub in Porsche would mean that the integrated motor at the front is responsible for steering and the two motors for the rear drive without differential - one motor per rear wheel mounted opposite. The C+ app then needs to adjust the speed for each wheel when the car drives on curve, like a differential would do. This is something similar to real electro cars they are driven directly by wheel hub, not by axle. The new hub totally makes sense here when TLG tries to make "e-performance" as realistic as possible and is also a benefit for upcoming tracked vehicles (driving tracks on opposite, rotating super structure with third motor where a 4-port-hub would waste one port)

If the HUB is specialized for cars, they could include a controller instead of having to use a mobile app.

There is still a (small) chance for this, although the remote control would then probably use standard AA/AAA batteries :)

Just reread this...

3.7V? That sounds very low to be consistent with their claim of "fastest"! I guess it's possible to run high-output motors at low voltage (high current), but it doesn't seem to make much sense to me

So we do know it has three motors, eh? I would have guessed that they'd just use one rear motor and forget the differential, but two would be better!

The "fastest" claim has not been confirmed, so far it only comes from leakers. I highly doubt it's the fastest of all LEGO RC cars, maybe the fastest Control+ set. That is not very hard to achieve, it just has to beat the 42124 Off-Road Buggy. The 3.6V battery doesn't help with that though, but with the 2 integrated motors it's doable, but playtime will certainly suffer.

Yes we do know, @Akbalder had a very nice find with the good quality photos!

As I see we have 3 integrated motors, and apparently 6 integrated lights as well! This explains how the set can have lights without external ports on the hub.

Will be a "challenging building experience" with only one piece of hardware. Looks like 18+ sets are too difficult now :D But again this hub is improvement for tracked vehicles

Yeah, I certainly don't expect it to beat the old buggy-motor powered cars! Still, we'd think it has at least some speed, which really doesn't make sense with the 3.7V. Weird!

The only way I'm gonna get this set is without the new hub, since Im not a fan of this kind of hub, and I wanna get it just because it's a cool looking Porsche.

When the first information for Liebherr Crane came out in the beginning of 2022 there was also rumors about new hardware (new hubs) in the set. Nothing is confirmed that the Porsche will use it

This is quite different though. This time there are several documents about the battery and hub published on lego.com under "Product 42176", I'd trust that very much. Actually apart from the set number, we don't know yet for sure if it's a Porsche or not, but we certainly know what battery and hub it'll contain :)
