I was thinking of ways to make that hub better... But I agree, by far the best solution is to use separate battery and motor (LEGO or BuWizz). Edited July 24, 2024Jul 24 by N1K0L4

Anyway, for kids play need it is good module. Not too fast, and not too slow. I will add some of my models on this chassis for sure.

July 25, 2024Jul 25 I think everyone including myself complained about it already, but I do wish it was a lot faster, especially with the new RC system. I expected performance in the middle between Control+ and 2000s Buggy but it appears to be only about as fast as the other fastest Control+ sets. At least it ain't no Top Gear Rally Car.
July 31, 2024Jul 31 Hi all. I've created Github discussion about Pybricks support for the new hub, also shared there some initial findings. Maybe someone is interested to contribute. My main goal is to make this car controllable by Xbox controller and get telemetry from it.
August 1, 2024Aug 1 Got the set today and noticed several things: Optic fibers are 3,2 mm diameter, so they are NOT standard 3,0 mm Rear and side outputs are 1:1 ratio and perfectly synced + to + When driving the hub seems to use the accelerometer or a gyro to compensate jaw by activating the steering output - this means this model should be able to go very straight

Problem is that you can install BuWizz in any direction/oreintation, and you would have to have several parameters to adjust the compensation response... It would complicate things a lot. I found another feature. The drive motors are regulated, so they are always at the same RPM when driving straight and there is an electronic differential implemented, so that the RPM of the inner wheel is reduced and the outer one is increased. But that also means that the hub is probably not delivering full power to the drive motors in order to maintain RPM...
August 2, 2024Aug 2 I wonder how much scattered light do the new optic fibre cables give? Could they conceivably be used for creating lighted up shapes (sort of like neon lights) from the cable itself or are they only useful as a point-like light source?
August 5, 2024Aug 5 Built the set yesterday. And I noticed, that there is a possible quality problem regarding the optic fibers. In steps 132 and 133, the long optic fibers need to be fiddled thorugh a black connector. With one of the long optic fibers, that was no problem. But the other one, was a huge problem. Nearly impossible to do. I tried many different pieces of the black connector, but this didn't make any difference. It looks like one of the optic fiebers was a little bit thicker than the other one.
August 6, 2024Aug 6 There seems to be a mechanical safety clutch on the drive outputs which can be triggered by slowly driving the car forward and pushing it back. I can't wait to see an opened hub for even more features!
August 22, 2024Aug 22 I made trike from this set. I thought Go-kart or F1 also too but someone will do it. Like my sign said, I like to build unusual thing. Function Drive and steering using original C+ app. Front wheel can controllable by hub. Only rear light working

Other than that, nothing has changed, so if you have a parts designer, you can actually make it yourself. Of course, there is an air vent that is not in the actual part, and it looks a little dented, but it is usable without any problems. Just like the rendering picture in the link. And hub looks like this. The original's curved parts are all gone and there is no color separation, but it is no problem to use. At least in my trike. Edited August 23, 2024Aug 23 by msk6003

November 22, 2024Nov 22 I assembled the complete hub unit of this set with the help of Philo`s unofficial files from LDraw.org - https://library.ldraw.org/parts/41282 In order to use it, you 1st have to download the .zip file for the whole unit (1st section) and make the connection points in the Studio Part Designer. Then, you can use this: https://bricksafe.com/pages/Lixander_A./miscellaneous/porsche-gt4-e-performance-hub Also, sorry for posting on this pretty inactive topic.
