I don't think the integrated hub is a single solution that TLG is moving to on a long term, but it could be a way to reduce PU hardware inventory for a transition period until a new system is introduced. We'll need to see next year's lineup to be able to tell more. I am inpatient. :) When will we see your review of 42176? Quote

JTS Posted July 16, 2024 Posted July 16, 2024 Short video I found that shows underside and the fibre-optics. https://bricksafe.com/files/JTS/misc/_1721134316857.mp4 Quote
Paul B Technic Posted July 16, 2024 Posted July 16, 2024 Nice video, this is larger than I was expecting. Quote
msk6003 Posted July 20, 2024 Posted July 20, 2024 (edited) Considering tire size difference(buggy is 1.3x bigger) I think axle speed of both set is same is very slightly difference but almost same. Edited July 20, 2024 by msk6003 Quote
msk6003 Posted July 20, 2024 Posted July 20, 2024 On 3:25, we can find additional output on backside of hub. It will be linked with side output. Quote

I expected this to be quite adequately fast, slightly less then the old Buggy motors from the early 2000s. I don't want to say "TLG has lost their way" but between this, the MP4/4, Countach, etc 2024 has been the year of fatally flawed LEGO sets. Edited July 20, 2024 by StudWorks Quote
Dylan M Posted July 20, 2024 Posted July 20, 2024 Is HE use the intended Control program for that Set? Quote

NV Lego technic Posted July 20, 2024 Posted July 20, 2024 In my opinion, I'd much rather pay $10 more for the Audi, and get cool looking tires, a fair amount of panels, suspension, and a much more fun model. Quote

Absolutely, this set is, at least IMO, made for people who want an easy way in to Lego Technic. Kind of like Apple sending school's their computer's so that when kids leave schools they buy Apple products because they know how to use them. Quote

Or buy all the parts without the new hub and cables and play with it manually. Quote

Even if you don't need PU, Audi is very good parts pack (there are rven perfect differentials included) Quote
NV Lego technic Posted July 20, 2024 Posted July 20, 2024 The only 2 reasons I can think of for buying this set is for black 9 stud curved panels or for the hub and fiber optics. Also, a weird thing is that for optics almost bankrupted Lego in the late 20th century, why would they bring them back? Quote

NV Lego technic Posted July 20, 2024 Posted July 20, 2024 I mean, the fiber optics were more expenses than the rep of sets that contained them. A space shuttle would be cool, to be a successor to 42182 or the old shuttle. Quote

Auroralampinen Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 Well here is speed build of this set this is maybe the first technic set to use architecture and ideas set style box Quote
NV Lego technic Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 It seems to me that Lego has stepped up their packaging on sets. It is also visible on the rover and the g500. Quote
Oh_Hi_Mao Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 Can these type of boxes be easily flattened? Quote
Lixander Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 (edited) The light ”cables” in the rear (look funny, like some transparent rigid hose). And in the front Edited July 21, 2024 by Lixander Quote
Ryokeen Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 Good thing is, the fibre optics cables look like they can be easily replaced by 3rd party parts. In case one needs other lenghts, or they get damaged. Quote
