Based on the set photos, I tried to recreate what I believe the mechanism will look like. It allows the door rotate 90° by sweeping outward and upward at the hinge.

Ooh, if they actually do that, it'll be a seriously cool function for a somewhat uninteresting segment. That on top of a real differential and what should be a smoother engine could make this the best set in its line yet!

That would be a cool function indeed! I must say I do start to like these smaller sets, even if cars, because they seem to push the boundaries, in terms of paneling and even in mechanics, which means need for newer parts :) If this set contains new pistons and new 3x13 frame, on top of all the DBG panels, then it starts to be quite a good parts pack.

easily on of the best years for brick enthusiasts! I'm so in love with this set, for all the reasons mentioned (diff, lots of gears, decent/useful color, mechanism).

What do you guys think: does it come with a shock absorber? I guess not?.

For all the combined Lego themes maybe. But from Technic theme perspective I am not sure. The H2 sets are not even out yet.

I think nope. For its size Lego would have to make smaller shocks for this. But the set is lit. I have not paid any interest in Senna Bolide etc. from the past years. I am seriously eyeing on this one :classic:

I was hoping to find one in the door mechanism.

Sarcasm, right?!

Yes and No. The past years where so bad it is easy to have a good one. But it's possible that TLG is only pushing my buttons this year. The only thing that's missing is a parts pack well equipped like the 42139 All-Terrain vehicle (turntable, 6 wheels + shock absorber, 2 differentials, and so on).

I'm so uninspired by the 2024 offering i can't even name a single set!! Maybe there's an awesome flagship due that i don't know about... but it will be £800 so i wouldn't buy it anyway.

If 42183 isn't this year's flagship model, I think we won't get any, and the only set with the highest piece number and price (not counting the 1:8 McLaren) is the G Wagon. So maybe next year we get a proper (and relatively affordable, so 350-400€) flagship set.

Although this set looks really fugly too me and I didnt intend to get it at first, the amount of Technic functions packed in this set is worth it.

That is definitely one of the sets of all time.

But I guess it’s nice to have some of those newer panels in white in a “cheap” set.

The only acceptable kind of whitewash:

Again it seems like the white stickers dont match the color of white pieces so hopefully the grey version dont have big color difference like the white version

I much prefer the white version.

Me too. The black and white exterior really makes it pop out.

With both the Lambo and bugatti the recolor option was released later than the "original", now they release both options at the same time. Is this like a new sale strategy, to let the customer choose which color he prefers? I kinda have mixed feelings about it, i get some of the reactions that are mentioned above (cheap way to get some nice panels in diffrent colors etc.) but on the other hand it feels like a real lazy way of creating a "new" set, it's just a recolor and the inside sadly stays a color mess.

I have to say tho, that i prefer the white version to

Maybe also pushes sales to the official Lego store, as far as I know only one version goes to store shelves.  Lime Lamborghini, yellow Bugatti, probably grey Jesko.
