Looking at the video, I'm always more convinced that Lego must introduce another kind of rims+tires for these small cars. Something more modern/sporty. The shape of the car body without wheels is almost perfect, but those old wheels with "big" tyre profile are really bad looking.

This. Also, can we talk about how damn far LEGO has improved on these little car sets since the god-ugly Corvette ZR1?

Allow me to point you on the funny fact, that this is the first car in this scale that can be rebricked into a proper Subaru (or Porsche), with a boxer engine! How cool is that?!

@thekoRngear i see, then forget about it!

That was a great review, I need to get this now... it is the first Technic car of this scale that I will be buying to build as the A model. I am also going to get a second copy for MOC'ing.

I see and I don’t forget. Perhaps, go visit a doctor to check whether you have dementia or not 🙄

Hi everyone, this is a praise from RacingBrick

Ah, finally!
Surprised to see it uses the long steering gear rack for the door mechanism. Ingenious. And also it’s good when they connect the diff gear directly to the engine.

Ok, looking at the review I'm pretty impressed with this set. I'm not at all interested in cars generally, but this one appears to be a properly Technic set even if it's a car, and quite affordable too. Even just as a parts pack it's quite impressive.

I've finished the initial design of a new MOC using only the parts of the 42173 Jesko: a race truck which looks like the baby of a Jesko and the Volvo Iron Knight 😁

It has openable doors, HOG steering and a fake engine. It's compatible with the original sets' stickers and uses 90% of its parts.

While building I kept thinking I would run out of parts before being able to make everything covered but in the end it was just enough.

Free instructions will be available later.

Hope you like it!

This looks sharp - I like cab-over trucks. I just ordered one of these, and I look forward to the instructions!

Awesome! I've finished the first version of the instructions and someone did a test build with them for me so it shouldn't take much longer.

I'm a bit late to building this one so I'm not going for a full review.  Just want to say that I really enjoyed all the building techniques to get slight angles onto most of the body panels.  I think it's what I appreciate most from the most talented designers, it's not just filling in the grid so it looks like the car.  Only the 3rd 2024 set I've built, but it's my favorite.

Also it's the first set I've had with 4569 slope 1x6x1 and as soon as I had it in my hands I realized it's finally a second piece in a 40-year-old slope family, ie. 4515 slope 10° 6x8.  Something about the feel of the slope texture in my hands immediately told me.  Now I'm curious to see if there are any sets using them together to produce slopes wider than 8 studs but not an even multiple of the large piece.

I did poke around with the new pistons for a bit before assembling things, but I haven't thought of any npu for them yet.  Slightly smaller than bar size, so they don't clip onto much (they do combine with minifig hands, but I'm not sure to what purpose).  Having a stud on top, it'd be easy enough to put 1.5 or 2 stud diameter round plates on the end to make slightly larger engines.

Awesome! I've been waiting so patiently... :innocent2:

I'll post photos when I get it finished.

That's great, I love seeing my own creation built by someone else. Thanks in advance and hope you like the build.

I built @mla2's racing truck B-model!

The chassis has a bit of flex, but I appreciate that the most has been made of the available pieces. There were just a couple dozen small parts left over. The only change I made was to replace a red pin with a 3L axle, to keep the yellow connector at the back straight.

We had a rare sunny day, so I was able to take some photos outdoors. The truck looks great in person.

@tseary Thanks for posting! Could I use these photos in the Rebrickable description of the MOC? They're better than mine :pir_tong2: Or alternatively submitting them there as fan photos would be great as well.
