@Ngoc Nguyen Thanks, I downloaded the full res. images from that Finish store and did some more work on the truck (same link). Also found an almost complete part list of the set on lego.com.

It's missing parts not in Pickabrick, like the new engine pistons (should be 6 pistons + 6 round crank thingies) and presumably some number of 3x13 frames.

Is it safe to assume that only new parts are missing?

Yes and some recolors e.g. the panels #7&8 in trans clear and white and #9&10 in white.

the total number of parts from the inventory on pick a brick is: 2199 because:

6+1+41+6+1+13+3+1+4+5+5+3+29+1+10+6+2+1+2+1+2+4+6+6+4+1+13+2+2+1+5+4+2+2+13+1+8+2+6+4+1+9+8+7+10+2+2+6+3+9+6+45+9+2+4+7+2+4+46+2+16+35+1+2+2+19+3+8+13+1+2+9+1+1+2+3+1+3+6+2+7+10+1+1+2+2+2+1+1+1+11+2+14+5+9+5+16+2+5+3+6+2+2+2+3+1+1+1+7+4+3+21+27+2+6+4+10+2+2+2+2+2+2+6+7+10+2+3+60+4+35+2+2+9+2+1+24+194+97+2+1+2+1+2+6+4+1+6+1+4+31+12+8+16+17+4+2+2+26+2+1+1+2+2+4+4+2+1+2+6+6+6+1+1+1+5+3+10+5+6+3+2+1+1+425+1+4+2+3+1+8+4+2+1+4+6+4+3+6+14+1+3+6+1+2+11+6+2+1+24+2+13+29+5+17+4+4+3+5+3+1+4+3+2+2+5+4+2+1+2+1+4+2+6+1+4+8+3+2+3+7+14+4+1+7+1+11+1+1+15+2+1+3

In fact its a good set with a lot of potential and a great varity of parts. Tracks, wheels in three different sizes and tons of liftarms, panels and many other useful parts in useful colours

Is there a knob or a gear for rotating the superstructure versus the tracked chassis? Or is the superstructure rotated just by touching it and pushing it, like the kid in the clip does?
As far as I remember earlier excavators had one, and TLG usually has a lever or a knob for all kinds of functions - not counting doors and hoods.
Without such thing it might be difficult to steer the excavator around corners or just rotate the chassis. :sceptic:

The EW160 doesn't have one either. Nor do 8294 or 42006, so excavators haven't featured that functionality for a while. In fact, I think the only recent excavator to include geared slewing was in 42023.

I've always liked the slewing setup in (ancient) 8837, using the inside of the turntable in a planetary setup. But modern turntables do not have inner teeth anymore.

Oh. Tbh, 42023 is the only Technic excavator I've had in my hands so far.

Maybe geared slewing is pointless for an excavator with a wheeled chassis when you have a HOG steering for the wheels.
But turning a tracked chasis whithout some kind of mechanism will require touching the tracks, otherwise you only rotate the superstructure, which isn't a good solution in my eyes.

I've had an idea for a solution, but I can't upload pics bc the prototype is waiting at home for me returning from vacation.

How did you find this? Can it be done for the other new sets also?

On lego.com -> Bricks and Pieces and search for set number in either the element nr. or set nr. field. The newest sets are not yet listed.

I was a big fan of 8837 and would love to see that level of function again.

The parts list you shared end of May for the set is pretty accurate, that is very stunning. Some parts are missing like lights, smaller panels, new parts and pneumatic hoses that all can easily spotted on pictures to complete the list. Your sharing makes it possible to work on alternative build for this set two months before the set is released. Thank you @R0Sch for your hard work and your tireless dedication.

What alternative build do you have in mind

It's too early to share something 'cause only digital sketches are done with some random part tests. I'm waiting for August 1st to finally start physical building. To me personally this set is the winner of the August wave (and maybe to entire 2024). It has such great inventory with a huge varity of parts for a reasonable price and lots of potential.
