1gor Posted July 24, 2024 Posted July 24, 2024 Trick is very well designed; specially chassis with new frames Quote

jorgeopesi Posted July 27, 2024 Posted July 27, 2024 I had not seen the new small frames, another must buy piece. Quote
Ngoc Nguyen Posted July 28, 2024 Author Posted July 28, 2024 (edited) The excavator's arm is a pain to model. Edited July 28, 2024 by Ngoc Nguyen Quote
Maaboo the Witch Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 Okay, so the more recent iteration of the EC230 has the updated Volvo logo and rear end seen in the set version, but the Volvo logo is in a different place, and the "Electric" designation is absent. We have one inbetweeny excavator here, people. Not to mention it still has the WRONG NUMBER OF RAILINGS! Quote
XTN Posted August 4, 2024 Posted August 4, 2024 TLG made things right with this truck. After watching the speed build I was impressed by the way the truck chassis is built. Looks like this chassis can be the base for many different trucks. I really like the use of the new fake engine elements and the design of the front axle/engine area, and I love the fact they used the narrow truck wheels. I did a quick check on the LEGO website and I saw the narrow truck wheels (tires and rims) can now be ordered via p&b again. They've been unavailable for a while. https://www.lego.com/de-de/pick-and-build/pick-a-brick?appearsIn=42175&perPage=400 The negative side of the wheels being available is, that now I feel myself forced to order some to update my fleet. Volvo CE is uptading its excavator range, introducing 3 new models (230, 400, 500) with a revised design and logo. The EC230 Electric, and all the other excavators of the range, have not yet been updated, so TLG did the right thing. Also the number of railings is correct. Maybe the only wrong thing is that TLG used the new Volvo logo, even if the EC230 Electric still uses the old one. You find the EC230 Electric specifications and product brochure among the electric range of the Volvo CE website (and from the technical drawings you will see that there are some wrong proportions but that's Lego...) thekoRngear Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 Another review from letsbuild is out. Think Racingbrick is not that far away. Initially I was not too optimistic about the set but after seeing it from various reviews I have to say its functions are surprisingly good. Another well done non 18+ set for H2 2024. Quote

SNIPE Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 Im amazed at LEGO sometimes, I bought this set and 42177 which came to like £389.98 and didn't get my free set, so I rang customer service and they said that the free set offer was on aug1 where as I made the order in like 27th of july. Fine, but at least give me some sort of free set... But I decided to return my unopned 42175 and buy it again + the white koenigsegg jesko which made the order high enough to qualify for the free set... Quote
thekoRngear Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 This set continues to win my heart. There is a YT video review from All the Bricks Together with a nice demonstration of the functions. Apparently, the excavator can also be used as a crane. Quote

thekoRngear Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 Missed the depiction then. All its functions seem to work pretty much the way they should. The Excavator itself does not have rubbers so no good/practical traction on the surface. But that's a minor gripe I think. Quote
