It's been a while since I built the first version.

1280x960.jpg

It used 4 Cada Buggy motors, geekservo and first working RCDeck prototype with 3s lipo battery:) Car used slower motor output (which is similar to @Zerobricks Audi) and still achieved a speed of ~16,5km/h.

This car uses some custom parts, such as rims, wheel hubs with bearing, shorter links and so on. Another thing is that a car body is modified version of this moc https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-50815/Sfcustoms/skyline-gt-r-r32/#details

It's been disassembled for a month and I decided I wanna challenge myself rebuilding it with motors using faster output!

1280x1707.jpg

It achieved crazy 27,5km/h! Weight of tested one was 1100g (full weight of previous version is 1200g)

So main goal now is to give the car finished look😁

Nice job! I was intrigued with that in the video in the RCDeck topic, so I'm glad to see a fuller presentation. I really like how this model manages to both look really good and have really good performance! Too often models only have one of these things, but having both of them makes for something much more fun to play with, in my opinion!

Just for the look is a masterpiece I do not like the performance because i am too much purist but the look is awesome.

Thanks! There's a problem with good looking cars with good performance, parts suffer a lot outside and not only transmission parts but also panels and so on. But I still like it!

Thanks! In my opinion it's completely different side of the hobby, I was making purist style trucks for a while. But now I'm trying to be as much creative with the parts as possible:)

Hey man!

Your model is worth the attention and appreciation! I just do not understand why community discusses lego sets (leaks and releases), appreciate pure-lego-builds but leaves real technical projects aside. That is why I want to give you my respect. A technical masterpiece: the chassis is very clean and well-thought, the bodywork is astonishing! I wish to see more pictures of this glorious Skyline!

I love the scale of the build, and how you was able to squeeze such a powerful chassis in it. I love the layout with 4BM and servo at the front, love the transmission with durable custom wheel hubs. It all came together nicely! I made a small 4WD baja truck with a similar scheme and it was also left without attention :pirate-sad.

P.S. I was shocked with the MAX speed. I had no chance to measure the speed of my baja truck, but it was powered by 3S Li-Po and motors got overheated quite quickly under the full throttle. I guess, you car has a smaller wheels, so it was easier for BM to keep up.

Bold statement, but sadly, it is true :/

Also, I forgot to say at that time: good job @NoEXIST ! I really wanted to see more of the Skyline you first came up in the RC Deck topic.

Yeah I must agree on this one, I will probably take RCDeck on June from @NoEXIST as I have birthday in this month so I will try once again building models using Lego/Buwizz motors. The Nissan is very clean, I have never achieved this kind of polished body, it must have cost a lot of tries and time. I am just wondering how it would perform with drifts if you could put some custom drift wheels :moar:. Regarding one again RCDeck, I am wondering what other builds users can do with your product. Waiting for more from your side. Really great build and inspiring one to do something out of scheme.

Also agree on the more attention :) saw this but did not have time to reply and then I guess it went down in the list of topics and got forgotten..

Anyways, looks well polished on the outside, nice chassis and great performance, I even like the experimentation with the custom parts, how does your hub compare to the Audi hub? What are the differences? from what I can tell, the steering arm seems asymmetric. Is that key to make the suspension spring fit? Are there custom parts in the driveshaft as well, like shorted CV joints?

Is the video showing the first version only, and the second is unfinished yet? Will the body (have to) be different in the second?

Thanks for your kind words. That's unfortunately true, people are more interested in new sets.

Yeah that would be nice to have a bit more photos, but now there's only a chassis for testing RCDecks:)

Definitely need to order some more components!

I'm also curious, I didn't manage build good handling off-road vehicle so I'm going with the touring cars so far:)

You can simply exchange these hubs with Audi ones. Don't have Audi ones so I can't compare the performance, but main thing is that this hub is more into using with smaller wheels, they only allow axle connection

It has asymmetrical and symmetrical version, but you're right asymmetrical is used to fit shocks. There are also used shortened CaDa CV joints and custom lower arms which can be replaced with regular, but these have less play

Video showed first version with slower buggy motor output. Most modified parts were needed only because I had to move front axle only by 1,5 studs, front driveshafts are not parallel to arms if you look from the top.

There's no problem to fit the body on this chassis, but need modifications. I didn't finish it so far only because there's better access to eleftronics for testing RCDecks:)

Nice an clean chassis, with from what i can see, minimal custom parts to make it work well. I'm impressed how much tech you got cramped into that scale, i always need way to much space. Hat's off
And yea sadly it seems such MOCs don't get that much attention, but honestly Lego should buy out your RCDeck and make proper small scale RC cars. Some of us experiment with custom electronics, rc components and such but yours seem to fit well into the building blocks, plug and play mentaly

Definitely want to see new Lego Porsche in action and make something like a mod with this chassis:)

Body on! However it's still in slightly unfinished condition (these things sometimes last forever*huh*)
