Do you happen to have a link to the Reddit webpage?

I don't know if this is allowed here so I better send a dm :pir-grin:

You're not the one who started the leak...

Take a look at The LEGO Group's official Novelty Policy and Confidentiality Policy, specifically the information regarding rumours:

Rumors
We consider a rumor to be text information coming from an unknown source (i.e. posted on a social
channel from a source you do not know). In general, we ask you to always name your sources, even if it’s
just a username.

For text-based rumors, it is acceptable to speculate on these on your channel, provided you do not share
leaked images, leaked press kits, and are not the original source of the rumor. Please do not described
leaked images on your channel, make drawings of leaked images, or make MOCs of leaked sets. Do not link
to sites which publish leaked images.

In this instance we're not sharing leaked images of the rumoured set, we're just sharing text information that has been presented in image form.

So despite your source being Reddit, the correct attribution for the Endurance Polarship belongs to BrickClicker and Brick Tap.

Sorry, I only noticed today that you added more to your post.

The subreddits are full of leaked images, so I would never post the links here.

I don't read the posts there and the only reason I visit reddit is for leaked pictures :pir-grin:

So it has been quite about this set since the initial news dropped. When do the Black Friday sets usually get revealed? I don't remember how it was in previous years.

My guess would be a reveal around Halloween.

Lego is pretty good at keeping things under wraps up until close to the release date. Look at Eldorado Fortress. I wouldn't expect Lego to release anything until a week or two in advance. Leaks are another thing entirely. Those could appear anywhere at any time.

What an interesting rumor! Whether it's minifigure-scale or not, this will be the first set based on an actual historical sailing ship set in many years (I would not count the Queen Anne's Revenge since the Pirates of the Caribbean version is very clearly a more fantastical take on the real vessel of that name).

The original Queen Anne's Revenge was named La Concorde and it was a French slave transport ship. It was stolen by the famous pirate captain Blackbeard. He renamed the ship and made it his commanding mother ship. The ship looked very different than what we saw in the Pirate of the Caribbean movies. Bluebrixx is working on a historical Queen Anne's Revenge that should release next year.

I have mixed feelings about this set. On one hand it's a sailing ship... So that's interesting. On the other hand it's WAY too new to fit in with traditional Pirate ships. I feel like it will fit in with the Titanic better than with Pirate ships.

I'll wait for official images to decide whether it's a buy or a pass. But my initial response is pass.

Yes, I feel the same way.

I am excited, yet holding back since it is such an off choice for a ship I'm in the group where it may be at a smaller than minifig scale type of set. Although heres hoping I eat those words!

I am pretty sure it's not minifig scale because the real endurance has a lot of rowboats hanging on each side.

Well they could just skip those if they are going to make it minifig-Scale. Though I would also think something like the Titanic is more likely to happen.

On the 1st of November, National Geographic is releasing a documentary on The Endurance.

Here is the trailer:

Quote

In a legendary feat of leadership and perseverance, polar explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton kept his crew of 27 men alive for over a year despite the loss of their ship in frigid pack ice. Over a century later, a team of modern-day explorers sets out to find the sunken ship. From National Geographic Documentary Films and directed by Chai Vasarhelyi, Jimmy Chin and Natalie Hewit, ENDURANCE tells the inspiring stories of these two landmark expeditions, bound by their shared grit and determination.

Photos are out on Reddit. My initial impressions are mixed. It's not Minifigure scale, which is fair enough, but, unlike the Titanic, at this size of ship, some of the LEGO element sizes cause the scales of various parts to feel quite different, and it jars with me a bit. I suspect seeing it in more detail will help with that. Also, the masts and sails feel a bit too small, but I'm not familiar with the original ship, so it may be accurate.

What say the knowledgeable sailing crew?

The rigging technique is quite decent & those sails are gonna FLY off the secondary market shelves, but that's pretty much all :shrug_confused:

EDIT: and the flag, the flag is awesome as well! :pir-thumb:

I mean, I guess we should have expected it to not be minifigure capatible, but it's still a bummer. The pieces are fantastic though! The sails, flag, and dark brown mast pieces! However, I am not going to buy it, it's just not worth it

I didn't expect to buy the complete set anyway since it's not the time period I'm generally interested in, but the ship looks to me totally wrong. Either it's too long or the masts are too short... Don't know what exactly but it's unrecognizable to me. The sails are also hardly attractive - won't even bother to get them on PAB. Shame.
