Continuing on the theme of the 1:21 scale Unimogs, I have designed another little Unimog that I am ready to share: the Unimog U20 from 2006-2013.

I think of the U20 as the weird one, as it is the only one that had a cab forward design. While I like the look of the U20, it's look is different from all the other Unimogs over the years, that it looks a little different.

Like the U423, and the U4000, this one has a number of different features and attachment points. It includes:

  • Steering with HOG
  • Rear wheel drive with portal axle and I2 engine
  • Rear pendular suspension
  • Tipping cab
  • Three-way tipping bed with side HOG
  • Opening cab doors
  • Front attachment point (using the same U423 standard)
  • Center attachment point for toolbox or crane (with side HOG for crane)

Instructions are available at Rebrickable.com

The center toolbox has a little room to store stuff.

You can remove this box by removing two small pins, and adding a Crane.

Which folds up nicely.

Finally, all of the front attachments for the U423 will work on the U20 as well. A little brush was created for this MOC, and is freely available at Rebrickable.com

And a little video to see it all in action.

I hope you all enjoy, and the Unimog U90 (the ugly one) is next!

True technic marble, again! :D

Hopefully the contest starts soon, so you can build you 'Mog-MOC in an even smaller scale :-P

Try not tempting @grohl with that...

I could not agree more; if there were only smaller (and robust) Lego technic portal axle hubs so I could make 1:18 Unomogs...

Kyle great work again (and again, and again...)

This one also looks great! Very well done, especially at this scale!

Thanks for the comment, and I'm glad you like the look.

I'm always up for a contest, but it might be a good idea to step back from the MOGs for a bit.

Thanks again for the kind words. I am always up for a new part, and a portal axle hub would be great, but I think I have founds some good solutions in the meantime.

Another great mini unimog.

How much internals differs from previous?

The internals are quite different. This one is 13/14 studs wide, while the U423 and U4000 are 15 studs wide. So the whole drivetrain was reworked. Because of this, there is no transmission or other internal functions such as a PTO or winch.

I may never try a 13 wide truck at this scale again. I'm pulling my hair out trying to get the U90 (also 13 wide) to work.
