lmcpicture Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 After spending more than 2 years investing both time and money into his businesses and properties in Queenston, Killian yearned for adventure, the very essence that had drawn him to Queenston. With both his ships The Parvus and The Delphinus Orca acquired for the coast guard by Mayor Edward Scarver, he embarked on the construction of a new vessel, Pandora. Spoiler As he gazes back at what he has accomplished, memories of Queenston linger, but the shifting winds now directs his ambitions to the vast sea ahead. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Worked on it for a while with the rigging taking half of the time and also beeing busy last year. I took most of the inspiration is from this ship modell. I had to make all the ropes and rigging in Blender before exporting them as parts to Studio. The ship was created with the idea of building it with real bricks. I and @Justsomebrix have already started the construction. Quote
Bricksbypidy Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Wow, really great (digital) build! Love it! Quote
Garmadon Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 Augh, that rigging on a digital ship is giving me a headache even trying to imagine how much work it'd be! It's bad enough irl, let alone designing all the parts and implementing them on Studio The result is definitely lovely though, and I sure am looking forward to seeing it in physical parts too! Really digging the scale here (most sloops we see in LEGO are massively smaller than this!), and that stern curve in the hull... Is that brickbending and cheese slopes or some sort of mixel joint madness going on behind the scenes or am I completely losing it? Quote
NOD Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 This is a very beautiful ship and the rigging is impressive! You have combined modelling with Lego. I like the Lego version of the ship better than the original because it has minifigures. It's interesting to see them building. Quote

Most of the curves are with hinge plates but I'll have to wait and see if it'll actually work with real bricks. 5 hours ago, NOD said: This is a very beautiful ship and the rigging is impressive! Yperio_Bricks Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 Perfection This ship is truely a masterpiece and one of the best ships i have seen in (digital) Lego. The rigging is on a level i have never seen before. I can only imagine how much time you must have put into this. Can't wait to see the ship build with real bricks! Quote
Jeff of Clubs Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 Gorgeous! I love everything about this! A slipway seems a nice way to make a display stand for a ship too! Quote

Keymonus Posted June 22, 2024 Posted June 22, 2024 Lovely build! The ship itself is very well done: detailed, realistic, and with elaborate rigging. The ramp and the minifig posing around it are also great, and create an extremely lively scene! Keep it up! Quote
