Beautiful setting...a perfect lost world so large and well represented!

Excellent choice of interaction between ruins and vegetation! :pir-wub:

Thank you, I was immersed in the world as I was building it and tried to imagine what it would be like to stumble upon these ruins.

Great build, very jungle-y. I particularly commend the choice to use dark tan for the ground. The olive green crocodile could be swapped out for one of the new ones, though!

Yeah, that sounds like an easy improvement I'd have to support. It would give you a bit of an edge on the previous version of the build.

I’ve been working on some tweaks to this build. I’m trying to get some color because it all blends together. For example, I imagined some migratory butterflies might land on these trees, making them almost look like gigantic flowers!

Thanks, I wanted to provide updates sooner but I’ve had some computer issues. Be sure to check back in a few days!

We all look forward to the latest build! But one thing to be careful of is that I definitely don't think it needs to be any bigger, if that's what you were thinking.

Thank you for the advice. I think you’re right, there could be some more deadly plants perhaps a large venus flytrap and some colourful flowers would look good against all the sand and greenery.

A deadly man-eating venus flytrap?! That would instantly be +10!

Woah! This clearly is a jungle! This is how all the 2024 Summer City sets should look when combined. You should send this picture to LEGO. :P

Trees designs are simple but you dedicaded to the style and I like it. There are also basically just three types of trees - regular palm trees, smaller palm trees with swordleaf leafs and big, massive trees covered with vines. Thanks to this limited number of shapes there is no chaos. Same with colors - you used only three shades of green (if I can see correct on the render) to make plants.

Good job. ;)

I should really look at those new Adventure sets for some inspiration. Maybe BrickLink Studio will add the new animal figs too, they would give the jungle some colour and danger!

@SevenDeadlyStreamers For sure, there are plenty of new animals in these sets and this is great. If only builds (both vehicles and "jungle" surroundings follow). If you want to use them in the pirate build, remember that animals provided in 2024 summer City lineup come from Asia (tiger, red panda) and Africa (gorillas). Weird decision to mix animals from two different continents in one series but what can we do?

The build that uses these animals should be based on architecture/style from these continents, not usual piratish/Carribean environment.

Or maybe these could be used in some kind of Port Royale animal market/circus build? This would look awesome. :D

Valid point, I doubt there would be many red pandas in the Caribbean, lol. It was already a stretch to have the jungle encroaching on a medieval style building so I’ll try to keep it more historically accurate.

Well, we can have pirates in non-Carribean environment. Do we have to keep to actual pirates from history? Are pirates from fantasy worlds not allowed in this competition?

If they are allowed, we can problably also have gorillas figthing tigers because why not.

As a series of sets, I think it is fine. Johnny Thunder is probably on a world tour, seeing the different continents, similar to his other expeditions.

Perhaps one of Steve’s distant descendants is Johnny Thunder? That would be a cool little call back if LEGO put some pirate artifacts in the new Jungle Explorer sets.

:pir-triumph: New images added to the main post!

@SevenDeadlyStreamers, I saw the new update but just forgot to write a reply, sorry!

I have to say, it looks much more colourful and detailed than the first version, and the boat looks wonderful.

I don't feel like there's anything worthy of being changed, at least on such short notice, so best of luck in the voting phase!

Even cooler would be Adventurers series based on pirates theme - sunken wreck, retro sumbarines, fighting sharks and giant squid, Islanders temple filled with traps. These would make great sets.

Thank you, I wanted to make sure I captured most of the suggestions I received. Good luck to you as well and I appreciate all the critiques you’ve given on this and the other entries!

Wow… this are some amazing ideas. You may have just inspired my next entry into the BrickLink Designer Program, lol

This build looks amazing with all the vegetation going on! I really like the small details inside and around this old fortress! There could be so many stories told around this fortress, it really gets your creativity going. I would love to see maybe same Islanders protecting the treasure and fortress, i think they would do great!

That’s a good idea. Maybe the “Islanders” are really ancestors of the Lion Knights… the mask and colour scheme is somewhat similar after all!

When I was younger, I was so obsessed by Lego vegetation that I used to have dreams about looting exhibits to get them (I never stole anything in real life!).

I was always short of them, and they were hard to come by through the sets.

When I see this kind of creation, it brings back memories!
