Autonomous rovers such as the one above should also be allowed. You totally understand the spirit of the contest. This is exactly what we have in mind.

June 19, 2024Jun 19 One question: the rules state that it needs to be a studless entry; is it allowed to use studfull pieces for decoration, on the inside and outside? Or is that also not allowed? /Also, is Buwizz allowed?? Earlier, someone asked if they could control a model using Buwizz, but that's not Lego! Thoughts?
June 19, 2024Jun 19 Author Studfull decoration is absolutely allowed. As lomg as it is decoration and not “model team” or “creator expert”. Buwizz is allowed. Sbricks too. 3 hours ago, m00se said: Soon we'll need a lawyer to write the contest rules ;-) But joking aside, that's a very clear rule. Lol

But am I allowed to use rendered photos in the photos of the entry? Or at least can I use rendered photos for the photos showing the functions only, while still using photos of the real model for full body shots? @Jim Can you help me with this please

June 20, 2024Jun 20 Discussion is really funny 'Build a vehicle with 4 or 6 wheels' - - > first thing that comes in mind is a plane @Jim I know you don't like too much restriction, but the addition of the term 'truck' would have prevented this an left open many possibilities still

LoL But you can simply take some pictures with your smart phone. Just use a neutral background. Doesn't have to be white. I went through the previous contest and none of the entries used digital artwork, so let's stick to actual photo's and videos. You can create an animated picture as long as it's based on actual images.

I have an idea, but we'll see if it works out. Also, @everybrickasculpture, I'm pretty sure that brushless motors aren't allowed. If I'm correct, @Jim, they have to be Lego compatible, like Buwizz and SBrick, right? Also, one more thing. Are studfull pieces allowed as a kind of submodel? For instance, an engine. From a non-functional viewpoint, it would look more realistic if it was made of studfull pieces. Would that be allowed? BTW, I know that we are discussing the life and breath out of this topic, so sorry lol.

I don't even know what those are lol. I guess I know Geekservos. But no. Buwizz and SBricks are two commonly used products here in Technic, so we usually allow those when we allow motorization. And Buwizz and SBricks are hubs, not motors. 42 minutes ago, bruh said: Also, one more thing. Are studfull pieces allowed as a kind of submodel? For instance, an engine. Well, it's basically the only fun I have during this contest (just kidding, I love to see the builds) You guys never cease to amaze me and you never disappoint. "Build a vehicle with four or six wheels". It all sounds so simple

Brushless motors and Geekservos are motors/servos used in regular RC cars. Some people, such as vergogneless and lixander, use brushless motors and (I think) geekservos, but those are usually non-Lego compatible.
June 20, 2024Jun 20 @Jim Two questions: Does wheels needing to drive the vehicle means they need to be douching the floor for driving or can they be used in the drive system in some other rotary action to propel the vehicle? For example used as clutch in drive system, used as drive sprocket in a tank, used to transfer rotation input to some walking system? Will taking out springs out of shock absorbers be treated as part modifying?

So not as a part of the transmission or other mechanisms. You can use extra wheels for decorative purposes. 2. You can take out the springs.

June 21, 2024Jun 21 @Jim @Milan My backhoe uses 4 wheels while the rules allow 6 wheels maximum, so can I give my backhoe a 2-wheel trailer?

June 22, 2024Jun 22 Ok. I took a look at your topic and realized I was thinking of a slightly different machine. That would look good, especially if you plan to make the attachments for it!
June 22, 2024Jun 22 Sounds like an exciting contest! Since I'm a bus enthusiast I was thinking of doing a new bus model for this submission (two of mine already used 49.5x20 wheels). But then the model has to be non-licensed and studless. I've built a Kenworth T600 with 49.5x20 wheels around the time the 42078 Mack Anthem set came out. It's studless, but still a licensed model. Time to get a little creative...

June 22, 2024Jun 22 I wanted to clarify whether the wheels on the lift axle can be considered decorative (as in set 42128).
June 22, 2024Jun 22 Ooh, that’s an interesting idea. The main question is, will they be able to be lowered? Because if not, then maybe they WOULD be decorative.
