I've recently returned from a trip to Billund. I took photos of some interesting stuff there. The Imperial fort at the Pirate Boats ride has new bricks and looks great

And some photos from Lego House

And of course I always eat at the Pirates themed buffet restaurant at the Legoland Holiday Village. There is a huge diorama built by Anders Flynder at the entrance. Does anyone know who he is? What he has built there is truly amazing.

Good work documenting ye old LEGOLAND!

It's nice to know that pirates still maintain a presence there.

Here's some things that stood out to me...

Forbidden Cove.jpg

Forbidden Cove has always been presented as a "free standing" set as though its just a structure atop of a cave.

However, in this version it's actually the facade of a volcano - looks active too!

islanders.jpg

The mix of old and new Islander parts...

ship.jpg

When I first saw this ship appear on screen I thought it was the Renegade Runner...

Then I noticed the sails (or lack of) and thought it was the Cross Bone Clipper...

And then it dawned upon me it was a MOC... or is it a set prototype that didn't make the cut and now it gets its time to shine?

On the side of the table was the e-mail address of the builder Anders Flynder, maybe I should ask him about it?

There was also this pirate balloon

He left his Email address there just waiting for LEGO Pirates fan to contact him?

Well, better not disappoint him then - if he's open to communication I'd suggest find out all you can!

Absolutely.

If he could shed some light on if it was a prototype, or just a fun moc would be interesting. Strangely enough it uses the same sail and white bannisters as the ship wreck set.

Now I've sent him an e-mail. Now we just have to wait.

Out of curiosity... are you able to divulge in the details of what you sent?

Great photos!

It's been a desire of mine for quite some time to make a minifig scale MOC of this fort from the boats ride. Your photos might help spur me on!

This is basically what I asked him. I also said it was a very cool and good looking build and that we were talking about it on Eurobricks.

It reminds me somewhat of the fort from LEGO Ideas book 260

It does give some of those vibes, for sure!

It would be a great addition to my Bluecoats layout, if I can ever get around to it!

All these years and was nonetheless there was a jailed pirate in the brig!  Or there even was a brig!

They've definitely updated the design a bit on this model.

Not only is all of the greenery on the sides new, but they've also rounded off the archways

Here is a older photo of that side of the fort.

Ah yes, but I wasn't aware there was a pirate there at all!

So it's a somewhat pleasant "discovery" from my perspective. :pir-stareyes:

This is really nice, I can spot Achu without his mask :)
There's even cannibalism. Come on Lego, give us a modern release of islanders if you accept this for yourself

This is what I bought at Lego House together with another version of Captain Redbeard that I bought in Legoland in the early 00s (maybe 2003 but I'm not sure) It came with a certificate that it has been built by a professional Lego model builder and the pieces are glued together. I know that the certificate is somewhere in my desk drawers but I have to look for it when I have more time.

Thank you for sharing the pictures of the fort! It's good to see it getting the restoration treatment; I'd noticed in recent videos and images of the park that the top of the tower was gone and I was worried they disassembled it permanently to lose the sight lines or something. But the fact that it's back and that they've even added some detailing shows that the classic Pirates era is going to be represented in the park in style for a long time to come. :)

I've also been worried about the same thing. I'm so happy to see the fort restored with new bricks.

Yes, it reminds me of Baron Samedi from Live and Let Die.

It is nice to see the updated look for the pirate boats ride. I rode it a few years ago, and it was nice then; I will have to go back and see the updated look!

I love this one! Those top hats look silly on Islanders' heads, the mountains are well built and Jack running over the bridge is a nice reference. :pir-thumb:
