Hello. Wheels 49.5x20 are my favorite size in Lego, and I couldn't miss such a competition. I recently got pieces in lime green and really liked it, so I've already decided on the scale and color. There were no problems choosing a vehicle either; I’m a fan of American trucks. I like truck tractors, but the 6-wheel limit does not allow me to make a tractor with a trailer, so I chose a dump truck. And the lime color goes very well with white. At the moment I'm working on the dimensions and geometry of the model.

I'll do the rear axles now. I'll replace the wheels with white ones, they've already been ordered and are on their way to me along with a bunch of lime-colored parts.

I don't speak English. I use Google Translate.

The front end is in a very early stage and a lot will change there. My role models are the Volvo VNL and the Freightliner Cascadia.

Yeah, I'm actually impressed with how much he's done in only like a day or two. Personally, (I am also doing the contest) I am probably going to end up using most of the allotted time to build something. 

I don't know how often the information needs to be updated. Today I did a little work on the body and hood.

On Monday I'm leaving for a week's vacation. At this time the ordered parts will arrive. After the holidays I'll work on the cockpit.

A little update before the holidays. I'm very pleased with the progress being made.

Looking good, I can't wait to see the finished product.

I have an assistant, now the work should go faster. I also received the parts and started making the cabin. I’m not entirely happy with the result yet, there’s a lot of work ahead.

It is always interesting to see the evolution of a moc.  Typically this would be a wood chip truck in nz. With either a walking floor trailer. 

I'm not a huge fan of the black and grey grill. But the white rims pop! 

There are some very cool design elements that you have used. Keep up the good work.

I'm having a bit of a creative crisis. And to take my mind off things a little, I decided to work on the second model. While still working on the alternative model 42108, I had one idea that I could not implement due to limited parts. I think now is the best time. The main goal is to make an American truck from the 50s. I really like the way their hood opens.

And this is approximately what I want to get in the end.

Well, a little update on the lime truck. I still have a lot of time and I’m thinking of working on both projects at the same time.

I really like the design of your American trucks, so I'm looking forward to see the result. The nose looks promising already.
For me it was a hard struggle to fit all the functions when I made a Holmes 750 in that scale on a Mack Cruiseliner chassis. I hope to see some helpful solutions to improve mine. 

Nice progress.

Did some work on the yellow truck. I really like the progress, but I'm having trouble with the engine placement. Very limited space under the hood. I think I'll come back to this later while I work on the lime truck.

I'm almost done with the chassis for the yellow truck. The engine took its place. I also made the steering, with a working steering wheel in the cockpit.

 

 

Since I completely fell in love with your design of the legendary Pete 281, I had to try if I can build one too with my parts.
I found the right parts in white, but just as many as needed for hood and cab, so I made a two axle semi tractor of it.

I took your design of nose and grille, which imho can't be made any better, put in an inline-six-engine, made a slightly different cab, used the fenders design from my yellow Pete tow truck and the rear chassis design from my K100 - just shorter.

I promise I am going to wait until TC27 is over before posting images. And ofc I will refer to your design.

Thanks again for sharing your pics and giving me the chance and the inspiration to add such an iconic truck to the garage.

I am very glad that my works inspire someone. I was indeed inspired by the Peterbilt 351/281, but since the contest rules prohibit using real cars, I would prefer to simply call it a yellow truck 😉. I hope to finish it before the end of August, I have very little free time now.
