@Autumn , I agree about the jagged railing. I would fix that by replacing those pieces with a single plate put at an angle, if possible.

@YellowFrog, as a proud Canadian, I have to agree that no one cares about the remaining bits of the continent.

The environment you photographed it in is definitely unique and I like it a lot! I'm a bit more cautious with my Lego than that, but so long as it wasn't dragged through the dirt! I also like how you seem to have mostly used only classic Lego elements from the 80s and 90s, really going for that old school look!

Someone mentioned using slopes at the front of the ship and I would expand on that a little and say that there are quite a few unnecessary angles that could potentially be eliminated. At the front again, you have the corner of a red plate sticking out beneath the light gray diagonal brick. The black railings above also look rather jagged.

Too be a kid again and not worry about a little sand in the LEGO bricks, lol. I remember making a river in my sandbox as a kid and floating my pirate ship in the muddy water. Now just thinking of that makes my heart race!

Once as a kid, I froze some minifigs in a block of ice, and dug them out with a spoon. Some pretty rare minifigs got quite scratched, but it was good fun!

What a history! Once again, in Australia, there's not nearly as much history. Very special.

Australian history from from that era is also very interesting, especially James Cook's voyages.

Hey! I love that you built a ship, in this competition, I haven't seen many so thanks! I think you did a great job making your own sails, I have done that myself for a ship recently, it works really well. The whole ship looks well built and simple, which i like!

Thank you for the nice words! It is fun to make sails. When I got my first printer in 1996 I started to make printed sails with Imperial flags and symbols that I created on Paint. One of those sails is barely visible in the picture below. Unfortunately I have none of them left because I didn't save them when I needed the parts from the ships for other builds. If I remember correctly the hull pieces from that ship are the same ones used in my contribution to the competition.
