[M4-24 - Coruscant] Imperial City

» Good morning! My name is Rool,  and today I will show you how I live on the most astonishing planet in the galaxy: The imperial centre Coruscant. For the record, it's about 21 years since the new order brought peace and prosperity to the galaxy (and 2 years since the Death Star-incident by the way, but let's not talk about that). «

» Coruscant is all about stories. There is so many of them. Come along and see... First something about me: I'm 25 years old and this is where I live. Level 91! I will not walk you through the appartment, as my mum is a bit shy and doesn't like holo-cams!

Ah, there are my neighbours, Reesa and Perry. They're happily expecting a baby. If it's a boy, I think I'll propose to name him Sheev ... And there at the holophone booth, that's Mr. Silgran. Hello Mr. Silgran! «

 

» Ah, hello Rool! The connection to the upper levels is bad again. Will you and your office do something about it?! «

» Yes Mr. Silgran!

... So, where was I? Ah yes. I'm an assistant supervisor - «

» Assistant to the supervisor! «

» Yes thank you Mr. Leenart.

So, I'm assistant to the supervisor of communications in this sector and responsible for the technical stuff so that the different levels and sectors can talk to each other.

I will not show you my offices today though. That's boring. Instead, we'll start the day on the surface! «

» Usually I do not visit the surface. The elevator is just too expensive. Can you imagine, there is millions of people living on the lower levels, never seeing true daylight all day!

Oh, there is Mr. Silgran again. He's a salesman and got some business to do at the upper levels. And there is our protectors, the imperial officers and troopers! «

 

» You see that? That's one of the imperial palace-tour gondolas! Isn't that romantic? I'm saving my credits for it.

My mum dreams of a ride at sundown and the droid driver will sing for us ' O sunshine mine...'  

The skyscrapers are owned by those big galactic companies. Important business going on there at the CEOs office...

Let's now go back to the inner city. «

» This is my favorite place to have my lunch. Gnawricca's bar and drive-in. Gnawricca is a big non-human 'thing' but she does the best dika-soup of old town - unless you don't mind a hair or two on your plate and some alien company...

Oh, seems like that Rodian is making trouble. Gosh, why do the non-humans never have their scan-docs at hand? Watch that KX- law enforcer droid. They're hard-line! «

 

 

» Rool? We have a complete black-out on line 9! Subsector K-05 is down! The tech droid says it's a wiring issue at this node-ID. You need to fix that. «

» Why not send the droid? «

» The node is at the abanndoned industry levels and he's afraid. It's not good for his circuits. You go. Leenart over. «

» Quiet now. We are at one of the low levels. I mean really low. The elevator didn't even had a knob for it - that low. Rumours have it that some folk live here without having seen daylight for generations. They turned weird and mad. Good that I have company. The sector security sent TK-111 with me. I feel safe under his protection. «

» Will you stop talking to the holo-cam and go on with it? I have a bad feeling about this place! «

» Ok, I fixed it. Some junk-rat or mine-crab bit through the cable protection, I guess...  «

...

» So this was a sneak-peek into my day in the greatest of all cities in the galaxy: Coruscant!

I hope you liked the tour through my final build for the May the 4th contest. As you can see, the build is modular and depicts the many different levels one can find on Coruscant.

Fantastic entry! You really nailed the different levels of Coruscant. Is that a mannequin behind the window at the top level?

The pose and articulation of the Rodian look very realistic And i love the story! Rool is such a friendly character. To bad he's working for the bad guys 

The gondola and droid gondolier are ingenious!

It's not a mannequin 

It should be Xizor, the Falleen black sun underlord. He is often depicted in purple and gold. I gave him a skull into the hand as a reference to his title prince (like Shakespearean prince Hamlet. Very meta, I know).

I appreciate that, you highlight such a small detail with the Rodian .

Thank you! I know the entries are similar from the setting point of view. I saw your amazing palace but I would not be able to change the setting (and planned title) of my build anymore .
