Powered by Bricks Posted July 4, 2024 Posted July 4, 2024 (edited) I know I'm a bit early but news arrived from certain families chosen by the Lego beta test saying these new jungle sets are releasing in March 2025. Meaning this is our first 2025 leak. Also there's a chance we might see some more leaks during this month. The official list came in August but leakers are teasing leaks arriving before that. So our first set list for 2025 is 60691-Jungle Explorer Camp-1019 pieces 60692-The Lost Crocodile Temple 294 pieces 60693-Survivor Island Seaplane 287 pieces More information about these sets came recently, saying the project is being publicly tested in the UK but will be available for purchase next year. The big base set will be the only one that includes the smart brick. Meaning that the subtheme will have a similar system as the Super Mario theme. Well, the smart brick will surely have a high price tag on it, so putting it in the smaller sets would just increase their price to a point where noone would buy it. For the bigger set it would have less impact on the percentual increase. Quote

But me personally I'm not interested in the large set but only in the two smaller sets. So I have to get the smart brick either on BL or on Pick a Brick. Quote

Same as they have done previously with the LEGO Mario Sets. I doubt it will be exclusive to this collection of sets. It seems like it could be used in many kinds of sets. As the set is big in piece count and includes not only the interactive brick but also it's charger, it will be pricey alright. 8 minutes ago, The Reader said: So I have to get the smart brick either on BL or on Pick a Brick. I just might get it for the volcano. I don't mind the other builds to be honest. I would've tried to buy the piece separately but where I live it would cost way more than the entire set, these kinds of sets get nice sales/discounts in nearby stores, so I'll try to get this one for cheap. If I had to guess, these pieces most probably will be sold separately on the powered up range. Edited July 6, 2024 by Powered by Bricks Quote

The question is, if it will be avaiable there - I mean, I would guess that the Brick will have to be programmed to work with the Sets, and another programm if they would want it to work with other Sets - so it might have limited use anyways unless there would be a way to programm it yourself. Eitherway I belive you would probably be better of buying the Set on discount than the Brick itself on Pick a Brick if it shows up there ;). What also does surprise me, is that, since it is a test, Lego is stated above to have said that the sets would be released in March - somtehing that seems pretty unlikely to me, since a test is run to get feedback, and according to that also make changes if necessary. So I wouldn´t ecpect them to have made the decision really yet. Maybe it is the planned release if the feedback is good but then again seems unlikely to me they would communicate something like that with the testers. Quote

About that, LEGO sometimes justs risks it all with these kinds of decisions. For example the re-release program they did in the uk With the recolored fire stations. Planned to be exclusive to the uk to test if it would do good, and after a really short while it was available in other countries. They sometimes just risk it and make the test product publicly available. This is just speculation. But they are pretty quick to spread said products elsewhere Quote

From the pictures we saw for the sets, there were sounds added for certain stuff like animals or the volcano, which will be activated by certain other bricks. It does seem unlikely to me that they would already include functions for other sets, aside from those of the wave. Quote
Space Coyote Posted July 6, 2024 Posted July 6, 2024 These jungle sets seem like they will be fun and I like many others am a Thunder fan so I'm glad the subtheme is continuing but I'm a little disappointed there's no news of the space subtheme continuing into next year, I feel like that smart brick could be awesome in a Space set as well. I'm going to hold out hope they will at least keep it going for one more wave, that city subtheme has a lot of potential - this latest iteration of it was a hit for my son and I, anyway! Quote

I understand that you want more Space sets in 2025 and I do too. But I don’t think we will see another wave for Space City as we have a lot of cross-theme for Space throughout 2024 so it’s highly unlikely. :/ So I guess giving Adventurer a spotlight for 2025. That's true, we even got our own cmf line so it's only fair to give another subtheme a chance to shine. I wonder what the battery life will be like on the smart brick, comparable to Lego Mario or that sound brick in the Sorting Hat, maybe? Quote

I love taht space-themed CMF Series, such fun to collect. It would be cool to see Adventurer CMF Series but i think it’s unlikely. Yes, let another subtheme shine as bright as stars. Quote

I dunno. Space and anything that has to do with an animal mold are the sellers with City now. So much so that you'll forget that police even exists. I'm betting that we'll see more space in 2025 along with jungle - or some explorer theme. Of course you've got your police, fire and great vehicles. Yeah I think City is back to to where it was before 2020. Quote

I would be thrilled if there is a new animal mold in Police or Firefighter set just like they did with a puppy for police set. I don’t think there will be more Space sets in 2025. ;/ but I will be happy to see a few more Jungle sets with Johnny Thunder. ahve Pirates and Castle subtheme! Lol Seriously, we only know a ver few sets for January sae at the momen. So yes, Police Firefighting and GV sets are most likely for winter wave which it’ not surprising. Quote

A very interesting question. I assume that there is just enough space to fit one small battery similar to those in the standard lightbrick - the other half of the brick must be used for the sensor. But because of the additional functions it won't be long I suspect... Quote

Well, is the subtheme really continung though? I mean, all they have in common is the Jungle Setting and the use of the same Logo (although that is also changed). But everything else, from Minifigures, to colour and Sets design is different, so to me it seems more like a new subtheme in the same setting. Not that it makes that much difference ofc. As for space, it could continue like Stunts did, or not like Wildlife Rescue. Space was quite big though and feels kinda complete as it is, so I would think it is more likely that it ends now. But sooner or later it will be back for sure, though then with a new design. 21 hours ago, Lion King said: I understand that you want more Space sets in 2025 and I do too. In the end time will show what other uses they have planned for it, but it would surprise me if we wouldn´t see it used by other sets. 21 hours ago, Space Coyote said: I wonder what the battery life will be like on the smart brick, comparable to Lego Mario or that sound brick in the Sorting Hat, maybe? I guess if it's recharchable the battery life doesn't matter, but I wonder how often it'll need to be recharged. Either way it needs to be easily accessible so I bet designing sets around that is a fun challenge for the design team. Quote
