July 22, 2024Jul 22 My hope is that the f1 cars look like the one in this set only in different colors. Edited July 22, 2024Jul 22 by The Island Chronicles

Sorry, I didnt realise i copied it twice :) By the way, I was doing research on this topic before this discussion went out, and I found a comment on a website that was talking about the previous wave of sets and made this document with a table with some of the sets coming out. However, since we now know about the f1 cars, this info may be incorrect. So this isn't much of a leak, I was thinking some researchers might consider this handy. I doubt the city F1 cars are 8-wide, because the majority of city vehicles are 6 wide cars now, and just think, the last 6-wide minifig scale F1 car we got was in 2018! The new ones could look totally different! Edited July 23, 2024Jul 23 by Lemerbrix 2018 was a good year

July 23, 2024Jul 23 Thanks for the news! 🙂 Some kind of Formula 1 racing for City sounds promising. I'm guessing the four lower set numbers are smaller sets - each which one racing car included. For the two higher set numbers I'm hoping for a racing car transporter and a huge racing stadium (with start, repair area, TV crew, office and big grandstand - like it was in sets back in the 80s and 90s). July 23, 2024Jul 23 So why F1 is not in Speed Champions? If it is in CITY... why don't we have CITY Circuit like Monaco or Singapore, Miami, something...

I think it’s becuase cars would look like Foruma 1 but not too specific in City? Just generic cars for City while Speed Champion cars are IP licensed and very specific. Just like there is a car that looked like Jeep in City….
July 24, 2024Jul 24 That does not make any sense. LEGO has to change CITY theme completely. Exploration brand is good example of that. SPACE is definitely in wrong place. It is not Space Port. It is sci-fi.
July 24, 2024Jul 24 I think everyone is assuming the F1 cars will be 6-wide, rather than Speed Champions' 8 wide. But like Lion King said, Speed Champions are all about specific cars and nailing lots of details, while these F1 ones will be generic and more about racing and play. There have been racing cars in City for a long time.

It’s just no point to argue with legoturtle over this City subtheme stuff. I realy don’t mind Space and Johnny Thunder being included in subthemes. I don’t mind that TLG put Arctic and Deep Sea sets into City last year. I feel it’s just silly to argue about them as much as F1 cars. TLG has been doing different subthemes for years.

Without the City subthemes we would have no such sets at all because Lego discontinued Space and Adventurers. We should all be happy that they exist. With that being said, I'd prefer a return of the Space and Adventurers themes but that doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon unfortunately.

He's saying they should exist. Just not under City. My guess is merely for the fact that they take place in the wilderness or in a Star Trek universe in comparison to a realistic city life.

That there are constant changes basically in all themes that is pretty normal and doesn´t mean something isn´t working. If it really wouldn´t do well City wouldn´t have so many Sets year after year.

THIS. I’m happy with City’s Space and Jungle subthemes this year, it doesn’t turn me off at all.
July 26, 2024Jul 26 For me CITY is everything else but "the CITY". Police is for DC & Batman MOC's. AND Exploration is ADVENTURE theme for me. All other city sets I just pass. NOW in 2025 we have Formula 1 "subtheme" like space in 2024. That Formula 1 thing should not have anything to do with city. It should be part of the Speed Champions. BUT End of story. CITY is amazing theme. CORE of LEGO. Like Star Wars (sci-fi) and Harry Potter (fantasy) ...
July 26, 2024Jul 26 Author After a lot of weird discussions about what city is, and unnecessary begging for adventure to be a standalone theme, it's time to show some new info here. We'll see the list of new sets during August 1st, or sooner if someone stands up and leaks it prior. The F1 sets will be released across a few themes in a similar way as this year's space subtheme. And these are confirmed to release, not a false rumor. I know it's not much but at the moment it's the only new information at the moment. I understand that some people desire some changes to this city, but the situation was going awry, if you'd like to adress something about exploration , please adress it somewhere else.
