WHY ARE THEY STILL USING THE SEASON 1 VERSION OF SORA. WHY.

These look good! I will need to see Kai’s storm rider in more detail (it seems like he has a mech that detached from the back?) to see what other configurations are possible; Lloyd’s forest dragon also looks really good, especially for a $20 set! I am assuming that the recoloured Riyu is a different baby dragon, not a non-canon “powered-up” version of baby Riyu.

Three possibilities: 1.) The Ninja get multiple outfits this season, with one being the new armoured designs and the other being their S1 suits with S2 masks; 2.) this is a design unique to Lloyd, as he is the team’s new Sensei; 3.) this is not the final design for the Lloyd Minifig (see lifestyle photos of the X-Mansion that show Gambit with Han Solo’s hair vs. the final box art which gives him the BTS hair).

Ok my thoughts - 

Spinner - for £9 it looks stellar, ninja suits are absolutely awesome. I love the mech or flight suit vibes, I just really really wish they had a full helmet or visor cover like the scuba suits. That would absolutely seal it as the best suit. Still, Cole looks sick, I love the new katana colour too. The spinner piece and build is also fairly nice, I bet I could make a nice portal moc out of that part. But by far and away the best bit of the set is the new villains! Ive been trying to make a villain faction for my own theme ive created that uses dragons as back-mounted wings, and it never really worked out because of scaling and parts. But with the introduction of these new specialised pieces it has finally been done, and it looks stunning. I hope they're not uncommon like the wolf warriors of this summer. Will def be picking up the spinner sets! 

Storm rider mech - This is a combo of my favourite niches of ninjago sets, crazy scaled up builds for mech suits + weird one off concept vehicles that dont align with anything previously. Probably a scared monkie kid set idea but it still looks really neat, I like that the flyer has its own seat for a pilot, and really its about damn time ninjago did a speeder for a mech. Ive built one myself (for the previously mentioned own theme) but this looks wildly different, and in a good way. Not sure exactly how it's gonna turn into a dragon though. I also want to say that the figure selection is kinda stingy for a £35 set. Should be 4 figs minimum, but as a prelim it may change. Still, another draconian so I cant complain too much. 

Lloyds forrest dragon - Also a really solid set for £18, love the new colour for the baby dragon, and im glad they're keeping the Riyu head as a mold for other dragons. Love the basic wyvern design, feels lovely and simple, but in a good way. I hope the draconian comes with his dragon. Lloyd using the s1 suit design is.... interesting. Hopefully it's a prelim figure, and not the final. 

ThunderFang dragon - looks huge! Love the reared up look, and the colours are amazing. Is that a new Arc horn piece around the neck? The little side build is awesome, hopefully we can see the rest of the sets soon to see what it connects too. The figures are.... also interesting. Arin still hasn't got colour balancing quite right, Sora is in her S1 outfit which im really hoping is a prelim figure, it would be awful if thats just her outfit, especially as she is getting a spinner. Another draconian, and I think thats Nokt? cant really be sure because of the blurriness. The other 2 figs, Lloyd and Nya, are what worry me the most though. I think Cole may have a climber Cole moment happening again, where he looks the best because he uses black throughout. The ninja head wraps use their own colours in both the moulds, not black on (insert ninja colour). Still, this is also a prelim (stamp and all) so it may change. I really need that combo mech revealed because ive got my eye on a really good deal right now on the core one.

Wow, this wave looks fantastic and really fresh. The ninja suits are weird and awesome at the same time—not so sure about the mask, I'll have to see more angles of it. The villains looks fantastic. Not what I was expecting, but the dragon attachment is incredible. Now, for the individual sets:

Kai's Dragon Spinjitzu is great. Glad they're sticking to having two minifigures instead of just one, really adds value to the set. The spinner looks pretty amazing, and so does Kai's suit. (Really curious how Sora's will look, since they're still using her S1 suit.)

Lloyd's Forest Dragon is fantastic. Didn't expect it to look as good, especially in a 20€ set. The wings really make it complete. (It also feels like it could be from How to Train Your Dragon, which I adore.)

Thunderfang Chaos Dragon (pretty rare to see March sets in October) is incredible. I love how beastly it looks, it's the opposite of some of the more graceful dragons we got recently. The colour scheme is an inspired choice, makes it stand out from all the other Ninjago dragons. The chains, the wings and the tail are all particularly great. I like the inclusion of a sidebuild and the minifigure selection. Didn't expect four Ninja, especially with Nokt as the villain. Bummer that Sora doesn't get a new suit.

Overall, the sets are amazing. I absolutely love each Dragons Rising wave (well, maybe except the one from S2 P1, that one was weaker and more mech-focused). Can't wait to see the rest of the sets, especially the Arc Dragon, Dragonian Village and Zane's mech (the minifigure selection for a 10€ set is simply incredible).

Woah, these leaks have been crazy lately! Very unexpected, but there's some great stuff here!

I want a better look at the printing on the draconians, especially since the one we got a close up on appears to have a mustache? Very strange look, but the dragon backpack is extremely clever! In conjunction with the shoulder armor and helmet it looks fantastic. The ninja are also strange to me. I don't mind the techy look, but the top of the hoods throw me off. It looks like hair or some kind of energy effect, not armor. I like getting more transparent katanas though, they look great.The forbidden five look plain to me, but hopefully that's just the low resolution. Same goes for Arin and Sora, since it looks like both are still using their season 1 torsos.

The sets are pretty neat. The spinners are the best we've seen in a while, hopefully the two pack has one that looks like shatterspin. The forest dragon is nice, but I'm not excited for another small dragon. The storm rider is super unique and looks great! It does look small for the price though, and I would like to get another draconian too, but it's ok. The chaos dragon is fantastic! I really like how the dragon has an ogre like stance, super unique for Ninjago. The wings look huge, and the colors are great. Also like the chains hanging of the arms and the neck, with the cuffs as well. Hopefully this does interact well with the draconian village, that would be fantastic. I'm completely sold on the chaos dragon, and the storm rider may win me over, but I want to see more! At this rate, it shouldn't take long, right?

The new hood mold looks great when dual molded. The kai spinner has the red and gold and the cole minfigure that leaked has orange mixed in. But on the base version of the figures it seems they're just 1 solid color which doesn't look as good. At least that's how it appears on the chaos dragon and the kai mech plane.

I'm fairly sure they use different colours.

It's particularly noticeable on Nya—parts of her hood are dark grey in contrast to the rest that's azure. Lloyd's using dark green as the secondary colour.

On Nya at first I thought it was just the armour but I think you're right. Kai and Lloyd probably use dark red/green so it doesn't contrast a lot to pop in the lower res images.

The dragonians feel like a different tribe of the lava monsters from nexo knights. Arin looks slick with the gunmetal hood at the very least.

The zane combo mech leaked, interestingly enough it looks like Zane is the mech rather than being a minifigure. Also looks like we're getting slightly bigger version of Riyu here as well.

The mech looks pretty good, I’m very interested to see how Zane actually is incorporated into this. Does he have a big form in the new season? It’s all very confusing. Huge Riyu too. I can’t really pick out the car and jet parts which could be both good and bad, but I hope more pics of it leak either way.

Between this and Kai's mech rider, I absolutely love how weird the vehicles are getting. 

The mech is awesome. It looks like a total mishmash, but at the same time it somehow works really well. I love that Riyu keeps growing with each season, he will look awesome with those wings.

That is a set that really should have waited for the official reveal. Since from what I can see I'm not really a fan of it. But that could easly change if we get more images.

A big version of Zane sounds really fun. But a problem that I might see with this is the fact that you would have to disassamble the model to build the other vehicles, since I can't really see how the legs or arms could combine to form the other vehicles, and in the previous combo mech it was very visible. But as I said before we don't have more images, so maybe it actually does. There also isn't that much details that say it includes a Sora vehicle, aside from some coral stripes on the cockpits for the car on the legs.

I’m loving the slow drip of reveals, let’s keep them coming! 
 

The new spinner looks very cool, much better than the more recent gimmicks we’ve seen with DR. I’m excited to see what Sora’s looks like. 
 

The forest dragon is well-designed, but I can’t help but think it’s disappointing that it doesn’t have any real indicators of its “forest” title outside of the green and brown color scheme. It would have been interesting to see a dragon made of leaves and wood to really set this apart from other green dragons. Still, it’s excellent for its size, so I’m excited to see it in more detail.

The storm rider is a fun idea, and it’s always great to see new vehicle designs when everything else feels so repetitive. I’m not sure I’ll buy it, but I’m interested to see what it looks like from other angles. 
 

The chaos dragon has an awesome color scheme and cool wings. It’s a little smaller than I was envisioning, but it’s kind of hard to get a sense of the scale with it rearing up like that. 
 

Personally I’m a little disappointed with the combo mech because it is very similar visually to the previous one. I’d prefer something a bit more visually distinctive, but having Riyu on top is a nice addition (and a creative way to put another Riyu model into a set without repeating this year’s model). I’m wondering if there’s a Zane minifigure under the “giant Zane” that you all have pointed out. It’s a bit too fuzzy for me to make sense of it. I’ll reserve further judgement on this one until we can see the individual vehicles and how they connect. 
 

The minifigures here really are a mixed bag - the dragonians are amazingly detailed, and the forbidden five promise to be very cool. I like the new ninja wraps, but I share others’ concerns about minifigures repeated from earlier waves. If this really is the case, it feels a little lazy and doesn’t do certain characters (read: Sora) justice. I have some hope that these renderings are incomplete, especially the chaos dragon one, but only time will tell. Either way, I’ll have to get a ton of those full dragonians! I wonder if they will change color schemes for the summer like the wolf masks did this year?

I actually do think it doesn’t need to be rebuilt. I think the car cockpit is hidden in the big opaque dark blue parts, and judging by the wheel height, I think the lower half of the torso is part of the car build, disconnecting where a chest rotation joint would be. I think it folds down, with those 2 1x1 dots being head lights? Then the feet clip together at the back of the car. 
 

As for Soras jet, the cockpit is clearly on the left mech hand and the jet/thruster is on the right. The main body of the mech is the main body of the jet, and the wings are made up of the shoulder armour? Mecha-zane is kinda just shoved onto the front, and I imagine Riyu is basically like a giant backpack. 

As you’ve said though, more images are definitely needed to make a judgement. I really hope we get some more detailed leaks first, I wouldn’t mind not seeing the other sets until they’re fully revealed if it meant clearer pics of these ones.

Zane's Combo Mech minifigs got leaked, in a classic blurry look:

- Sora, has this new ninja hood in gold and white (i suspect it's same as from her gimmick set), can't tell if she reuses s1 suit here. Also she lacks any shoulderpads.

- Dragonian with Mohawk

- Pixal, has Nya's movie hair in silver and Mr. E's / Master Lloyd's golden shoulderpads. Also she has Lloyd's sword. Her suit looks a bit odd, being fully white with purple and red details. Looks like something that would fit in this year's summer wave instead.

- Nokt, still capeless and with generic shoulderpads. Ngl kinda lame, wonder if rest of F5 are pushed to summer now? Also he holds strange weapon, looks like sand-green hilt with summer short katana in silver.

- There's also supposed to be one more fig, rumored to be Cole

I believe that is just her s1 suit, since you can see the same details on the sides of the torso.

Overall this minifigure selection feels kinda lame with it's 5+ minifigs when you compare it to the storm dragon, which is $30 cheaper. But this feels more like a set that you get for the build.

With Nokt also being in this set makes sense, since he is the most important out of the F5. And there are still plenty of sets for the other members to come in: Lloyd car, Ras jet, dragonian village, the arc dragon, and we have one confirmed in the Zane mech.

I assume just in a set not the show but then again in tihe show could made sense.

Because the merge joining all the realms should mean the departed realm is now joined to all the others. Would be interesting to see them go into this idea as that's the afterlife but now it exists within the same world as the world of the living? Is death permanent at all for anyone anymore? Also what about Sensei Garmadon seeing as the lord garmadon part of Jim was resurrected but the other part wasn't, could he reunite with him self? Will dead people in Ninjago just all become ghosts in the merged realms rather than being stuck in the departed realm?

I’m honestly not sure. But it would be interesting to see that idea played out.

Another thing that makes my brain hurt for no reason is wondering if: had Morro chose to resurrect himself in DotD, would have come back as a ghost or a human? As by that point Morro was kind of a double ghost (a ghost of a ghost)

I'm not sure if Morro would actually return, but what we do know is images of 2 F5 members and the Arc dragon.

So first is maybe Drix, they have very bug like appearance, while Zarkt has a new hat piece and the main thing on him are golden chains. I'm a big fan of the fact that they are so different from Nokt and Rox, and it makes me want to collect them all.

The Arc dragon looks great, especially if it's going to be $80 as rumored. I don't really have much more to say about it, it's just another great ninjago dragon, but with a unique design. But I'd say that I personally like the Storm dragon a bit more.

We're getting so many random, low-quality leaks at once that it becomes hard to track all of it.

The Arc Dragon of Focus looks awesome. The colour scheme is super nice, I love how they use golden and azure elements (especially as the wings) to make the whole design come together. The horns were a fantastic choice. Overall, I love how unique the March Dragons are. 

Minifigures in the Combo Mech are interesting. Good to see Pixal back, I like her suit's colour scheme. Curious to see Sora with the golden mask, although it's still probably the same old suit.

The Forbidden Five look incredible. I am actually surprised by how different they are from each other. I love that Drix looks like a weird, spiky red bug, while Zarkt has chained green robes with an awesome hat. I still don't get why Nokt doesn't have a cape. Hope it's just a preliminary picture thing.

I'm not too happy with the minifigure selection, there's too many weird reuses. Both Nokt and Drix are used twice (I suppose the remaining two members might appear in other sets?), while Lloyd is repeated twice in two similar sets (both March dragons and two 20–25€ January sets).
