a guy from somewhere Posted January 4 Posted January 4 I fear it's too late already with Riyus wingspan being HUGE, but something I wanted to see from ninjago is a full blown mech for Riyu. I know the ultra combo mech was originally designed to be his mech, then it was given to Zane, but im talking about a huge robotic dragon that Riyu can sit inside, and pilot, like how minifigs pilot human style mechs. Maybe we will get that with a new smaller dragon, who knows? Looking at the new sets, I neglected to give my opinion on the Arc dragon. For those who are interested or care, personally I like the more outlandish design and colour schemes, but the technic is throwing me off a bit. I LOVE that we are seeing purple in some bigger builds now, im in desperate need of more purple sets and im kinda sick of buying knight busses to satiate my appetite for those parts. This is one I desperately need to see in-hand, and I do like how if you buy the storm village and the 2 march dragons, you get the whole wave of figures. Im certainly considering that as an option, but I love the combo mech and want to pick that up too. I may take my chance with the January sets and see if I can nab the remaining figures in magazines. Still no info on the crossroads sadly. Do we all think it's gonna be a ninjago city module or a play set like TTC? Quote

I’d be fine with it either way, one the one hand, TTC was a very fun build, and the crossroads in the show would definitely be more suitable in that style. On the other hand, I’d love a new ninjago city module. If it’s a corner modular that could be useful for rounding off my ninjago city layout, where the gardens currently sits at the end, connected to a custom modular building (shameless plug if you want to see it: Quote
mantax Posted January 7 Posted January 7 The next Legacy magazine includes Tournament Kai and a Wolf Mask Warrior. I've actually thought that this could be the case for the tournament ninja, especially now when the regular magazine in the latest issue has Zane with the Arc dragon from the 2025 sets. That does feel like a great thing since the regular one could give us more of the 2025 minifigures, and the Legacy magazine should have most of the tournament ninja, but sadly I don't expect there to be Nya, since she's never been in any of these for some reason(even Pixal had one). Now there might be some information for who could be in the regular magazine. As some of the new cards show the ninja with magazine style weapons that have never been seen before, and the cards are made by the same company behind the magazines, so I expect that these could be future magazine minifgures. These include: Evil Jay, s3 Zane, Kai and Arin. Quote

I'm not sure if you are talking about the new Legacy magazine, or the cards. The information on the next legacy magazine I found on a Polish site called Promoklocki, on the "gazetki" section. About the cards I know from a German youtube video, which has "Neue LEGO Ninjago TCG Serie 10 Multi-Pack mit LE 12 und LE 13" in the title. Quote
THELEGOBATMAN Posted January 7 Posted January 7 No shoulder pads. 💔 I hate when that happens. That's why the new two-piece hood moulds are really cool (Season 1, Climber, and Season 3 Part 2 suits), since they have to include the whole suit. Quote
CloneCommando99 Posted January 7 Posted January 7 I hope we get Fugidove as a minifig in the crossroads Quote

Just a shame that that means we don't get the proper new Arin suit in the jet, and 2/3 of the spinner sets lose their would-be exclusive figure (resulting in Kai's being the only one that has an exclusive variant like most gimmick sets, most comparable to the rising dragon ones from last year that were also just the current suits but with special golden hoods). I forgot about the gimmicks. I feel like gimmick sets should either stick with entirely exclusive figures or reuse figures from the wave. The “same suit except an exclusive non-canon mask” ends up as the worst of both worlds; you can’t buy the gimmick as a cheap way to get the main suit, and there’s no reason to buy it for an exclusive minifigure. I wonder if product testing revealed that kids just don’t care about it? I think the Crossroads will be a standalone set, and the next modular will come in 2026 to commemorate 15 years of Ninjago. That way, this year’s set can focus more on DR and then next year could be more retrospective. I’m not sure if LEGO would do another anniversary minifig lineup so soon (Star Wars got one for both 20 and 25 years, but 25 is more of a milestone than 15). At the very least, a modular set could be marketed as a 15 year celebration without LEGO having to do too much differently than they otherwise would have for a modular. Quote

That’s what I thought at first, and I do think the crossroads will work better as a stand alone set, but Lego could do a 1 off Ninjago retrospective set like the Disney 100 years set. That could be cool to see. Or, a huge location that we have been looking to get forever. Maybe borg tower or a huge revamped DR monastery? Quote
a guy from somewhere Posted January 13 Posted January 13 So ninjagos 14th anniversary tomorrow. Not seen anyone really talk about it so I figured I’d get the ball rolling. Ideally I’d love to see the crossroads get revealed or teased, or at the very least get some meaningful info from the leakers. We know nothing about this set and it’s releasing in 2 and a half months. Reveal is slated for late February allegedly, so it will likely be a last minute reveal sadly. Maybe a trailer for the show instead? Still a bit too far of the shows release which is also March. So i don’t know what we could be getting tomorrow. Quote
FinlayTheFaithful Posted January 13 Posted January 13 High hopes some DR characters get the minifig treatment at last like that frog fella and skeleton woman (I'm not too familiar with the newer characters sadly) Quote
a guy from somewhere Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Frohicky and Bonzle. Those and Geo are my top picks. Creel, Grabbarg and Lobbo would also be welcomed given the crossroads setting. I’m in 2 minds about it being a modular, on one hand I’m always excited for a new official addition to the ninjago city scape, but I feel like the cross roads doesn’t really fit the city vibe. It doesn’t have canals, or 2 levels. I can see it working but I feel like they can pull of a huge crossroads set if it was on its own. One consideration I’ve had was what if it was a special module that bridged the gap between Ninjago city and icons modulars? So it has a road/sidewalk on one side and a canal on the other side of it. Could be an interesting way to spice it up. Quote

That would be cool, but for whatever reason I'm still not expecting to see this thing until sometime in February. It just feels like we know so little about it right now that getting a reveal would be a little early? But I guess you never really know how things will go with D2Cs. Also makes me wonder if we're going to see anything interesting for the 15th anniversary next year. I think someone else suggested that we might get a new Ninjago City set around then, which I could definitely believe, but I guess it'll be a while before we hear anything about that. Quote

Almost like... a crossroads between the two systems Even as someone who doesn't own any Icons or Ninjago modulars, I think this would be pretty awesome. It is somewhat strange that right now the Ninjago modulars tend to be referred to as modulars (which they are, so it works either way) when they don't integrate with the regular modulars in the same way that the Marvel ones do, where they're clearly part of the same system, just based on buildings from a specific theme. a guy from somewhere Posted January 14 Posted January 14 71837 Crossroads (14+) 3244 pieces $249.99 March 1, 2025 The set comes with 10 minifigures including Zane, Pixal, a Dragonian Warrior, and Alfonzo Frohicky. Quote
THELEGOBATMAN Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Only ten minifigures is really disappointing, since another March set comes with nine—but for 100€, not 250€. Quote
Takanuinuva Posted January 14 Posted January 14 (edited) 10 with 3 of them being ones already in other sets is pretty bad. The other 6 better be some of the more unique character designs we've seen in Dragons Rising. I just hope if Lobbo is in the set. He's not counted as one of the 10. I always feel like this kind of comparison is weird because generally you're not buying sets like the Ninjago City sets for the minifigures. Like the minifigures are nice, especially when there's a couple of exclusives, but to a large extent the build is the focus, and that's what the majority of the price is going toward. Quote

Its comparable with the Ninjago City Docks. And two of the minifigs (plus the baby) in that set could also be gotten in the other sets of that year's wave. I don't think its particularly bad that the non-corner city sets are less massive then the corner sets. Edited January 14 by GeoBrick Added some text. Quote
a guy from somewhere Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Still no confirmation if this is a ninjago city or playset-type set. Considering the figure count im leaning more towards playset. The saga continues! I cannot wait till the reveal im so incredibly excited. Quote

I do see what you mean and I kind of agree, but I do also feel like ten is not great if you want minifigures to populate the set. Regular civilians almost never come in Ninjago sets, so whatever you get in the set is basically what you have to fill it out with something like this. Personally it doesn't matter for me, since if I end up getting it I can always just take a few minifigures off one of the Ninjago City sets or make some with spare parts, but I can see why it would suck for someone with a smaller collection. Quote
mantax Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Only 10 minifigures does feel quite small, but I don't mind that too much, as personally I'm more into the regular sets, and that would make me fine with skipping this set. Also I'm not a fan of important characters that a lot fans want to have, to be exclusive to a $200+ set. Previously you could have gotten them from Pick a brick, and that was just marvelous. But recently it has been very unreliable, so I don't even know if any of the parts would be available there. I know that there isn't really that much options for sets that these type of characters can apper in, but still for such an important character from the whole series like Cyrus Borg to only be in a $370 set just isn't great. Frohicky I believe everyone expected to be in the Crossroads, but it's still cool to have that confirmed. Zane feels like a great inclusion, but only if he has the complete storm suit, since you can get him like that in just one set. The Dragonian Warrior just feels weird, one of the Forbidden Five would fit a lot more(but a member of them might be one of the unknow minifigures). Now also there definitely should be Arin and Sora in this set, and with that there are 4 more minifigures to apper in this set. My main picks for that are Geo, Frak and Dorama, as well as Cole, since with Geo being in this set, I don't see them not including him. But I don't really know about that, as I feel like there should be some regular civilians in a set like this. Quote

Lyichir Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Actually thinking about it the set might include Lobbo as well since he'd likely be brick-built and not a minifigure. Quote

Geo and Bonzle would be great to get but this doesn't feel like the right place for them TBH. I had hoped we might get a big D2C take on the Monastery for the 15th anniversary set but it might be a City Module instead.(Both in one year would be too much!) I guess that depends on how much this set connects to the city! But point is theres a few characters that'd make more sense there than here. Frohickey would probably come in the monastery too if they make it but repeats are nothing new! Characters that are mostly based in the crossroads or were first seen there would be sensible like Kreel, Dorama or Chef grabbag. Then again minifig inclusions don't always make perfect sense . Quote
