Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted July 29, 2008 Author Eurobricks Emperor Posted July 29, 2008 But seriously, we should have some sort of filter that automatically reformats posts with poor grammar and spelling into proper English before they are posted (not spell check, like the A$$hole = MEGABLOK. A filter.) We could use all kind of technological tricks, but I don't want that (we have a limited bad words filter already today). Members will have to make decent post without any filters or stuff like that. Like I said before, if that's too difficult for some members then they will soon be leaving us. Quote

Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted July 29, 2008 Author Eurobricks Emperor Posted July 29, 2008 Thank you for this. I will be sure to watch what I do, and try to help others as well. . No need to thank me However, before you read this post you posted in another thread: Couldnt the new price jump be because of all the new molds. I mean every set has a couple new molds. In the future you should write Couldn't the new price jump be because of all the new molds? I mean every set has a couple new molds. Quote

Commander Andrew of 501 st Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Often I see members writing 1 word when commenting on a MOC or review. Example: "Cool!". Well, if "Cool!" is all someone can manage to write as a comment, then there is no place for this member on an adult community like Eurobricks. That's the meaning behind what I wrote. So from now on, writing only "cool" is not "cool" anymore and will get you kicked under the butt and locked in lonely place :skull: I've been well aware of that since my scare.(Bad ryming) I think this should be front paged if it is not already. A very good message to the whole community, they should be afriad of that dark and scary place. The whole one word post is a bit rediculous. Quote
Siegfried Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Do remember that this is nothing new so don't be expecting any final warnings. On the same subject, don't forget the TFOL issue; a few days ago I noticed a member that still had it in their signature. Quote
Lego12 Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 It's great that you made these rules! I hope the Star Wars forums improve. Well done Bonaparte. Quote
Oky Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Yes, thanks Nonaparte, we needed this! But what's wrong with smileys? I like them, they let me express my feelings very well. So, is one smiley per sentence (like in this post) OK? Quote
darkrebellion Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Thanks Bonaparte for this topic because is needed . I think the correct grammar is important to mantain the disccusions understables (correct spelling ) that why I always check my posts. Quote

So it seems our friend Krabs didn't get the message I gave in this thread and still types like this is a cheap chat board. Too bad for him! Quote

Dark Sword Ragnarok Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Thanks for putting up that topic, Bonaparte. It was really needed. The sad part is, it shouldn't be. DSR Quote

Yah I know, I'll just tell them that what their doing could get them in trouble. I mean its great having so many people in this forum, it'd be a shame to see them banned. Quote

Trudop561 Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 (edited) You're right. But I don't have this problem. I know how to post, this is not the first time I have to participate to a forum. Edited July 30, 2008 by Trudop561 Quote

Oh, I love what you are doing, I am a linguist by the way and well, I like to use "1337 speak", but this is clearly not the place for this stuf. I use it on PC gaming forums, here I try to use proper English... And why not French :) Quote

I agree. It seems a little harsh, but it is fair. I often get annoyed by bad grammar (even my own), although I can put up with it. And why not French :) Parce que l'anglais est la langue utilisée ici. :skull: Quote
Skipper 24 Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 I think this message is well needed Bonaparte, thank you. Also I think we need to stay more on topic in the Star Wars threads, recently we have been going off a little to much but maybe I'm wrong (probably). Quote
