Hello there,

after the "Mod" of my first passenger train set - #4560 - I thought a few days ago, it would also be aweseome, to "modify" all other "old" trains, that I have from my childhood.

Spoiler

History:

So I startet with my second train set, the 4565 Goods Train Set (or Freight & Crane Railway). At the moment, I've only tried my first attempt at the locomotive.

As with the passenger train, I realized relatively early on that a “modification” was not the goal here. Rather a “reinterpretation”. In other words, I asked myself: “How would a moccer build this model today?”. I decided not to ask myself how LEGO would build the model today. In my opinion, nothing proper would have come of it.
First I digitally recreated the original model, which I still have in storage somewhere, and realized that I remembered it as being much more beautiful than it actually is.
So I started by searching for a real model that I could use as a template. Google search with the keyword “shunting locomotive”.
The ÖBB 2068 then caught my attention and served as a reference in many ways. Nevertheless, I wanted to include some of the details of the original set and at the same time integrate the various battery boxes and hubs. Which is quite difficult.

In the end, I was able to make space for PoweredUp, the lower PowerFunctions box from MouldKing (BlueBrixx etc.) and for the Buwizz 3.0. At least in theory.
I still have to realize the model in “real live”. Before that, however, I would like to get your feedback, as there are certainly a few things that can be optimized.

So, what do you think?

PS: I didn't adjust or complete the hoses (handrails), because it's damn complicated in studio.

Solid pair of locomotives. The similarities in design and color scheme makes me think a common manufacturer and railroad.

@Murdoch17 Thanks for the info on the GMD diesel-hydraulic locomotive.

Follow the MOCer path, Lego would just do something stupid (grin), and indeed, you did. That's a great reinterpretation, looks like a real locomotive.

Nice comeback ! nice unenhanced of original model and keeping some iconic shapes and colors ! And yeah hoses in studio is real pain in the butt, i know it :D

Looks very nice @Pelzer117! Reminds me a bit of this loco by General Motors.

Thank you for the feedback and the link to the GM loco! There are really some similarities.

Thanks! Yeah I don't know why it is so complicate to move the hoses. But maybe I have not enough patience for it

Thank you all for yor feedback.  This motivates me to do a little more (pictures follow asap).
