Bás Dorcha, home to the Night Lord Basil. Located in Nocturnus. Lord Basil built this impressive tower hundreds of years ago. Though no one has seen him in a hundred years. Even common folk from Nocturnus didn't dare to come near the tower. But with Basil gone, it was a perfect place for a city. Near the sea and the tower provided protection.

Not everyone thinks Basil is gone though, people say he still lingers in his room, which no one dares to enter. Because of all the bats leaving and entering through the window at night, this rumor is kept alive. Others say there's nothing to fear because of the Wizard Willa, who built her own tower at the harbor. She is near to deal with Basil if needed.

This was my layout for Legoworld Utrecht 2023. The tower in the middle is based on set 6097. I sorted all the bricks except for the tower. I'm hoping to still finish the interior. Like always I added moving parts. I always stick with four. This time I added them all in one module, which was easier to transport. By pushing one of four buttons kids could turn on the moving elements.

This is a very cool castle, I like how it builds to a central tower that really steals the show with some serious height.  Really nice to see the bat theme getting some love too.  I like the rounded crenelations and the dark landscape.  Great to see a new build from you!

Gorgeous!  Massive, of course, but you have a lot of detail there. I appreciate that despite the size of the structure, you kept the same color scheme of LBG + sand green accents. I think that helps sell the effect.  I also like that you're building in Nocturnus (go Nocty!).  There's a lot of fun scenes, and I love that it's interactive with the kids.  I would encourage anyone who likes this to check out the Flickr album, as the pictures are much larger and detailed there!

Very impressive! I love how you, despite the massive built, were able to include lots of details and also the uniform color scheme throughout the built, despite its size.

this is really cool - I love the castle. And the moving parts are so impressive. Cool to see them integrated to a castle build :-). I feel like the pictures will never do justice to this amazing build and I wish I could have seen it in person. So many details to spot! Nice work :-)

Aside from what a cool MOC this is, what caught my attention was the name! What inspired you to give it a name as Gaeilge?

Would love to have been at Legoworld Utrecht to see it in the flesh. I was planning to go in 2020 for the first time, then for obvious reasons that plan got cancelled... then kids came along. Thankfully they'll be a great excuse to go in a few years time :)

It makes me very happy to see that people still remember about the faction of our childhood.

In my imagination, this is exactly how I pictured Basil's castle!

90' Lego themes were the best ones so far.

I enjoyed seeing this one live, but seeing it in Nocturnus — even better! :knight::thumbup:

I like that it's a little city, not solely a fortress. The glowing purple crystal, boat houses and wall houses are great features, and the soldier figs are looking good!

I'll add this to the Nocturnus settlement index!

Great to see another major location in Nocturnus rendered so gloriously in bricks!
Impressive amount of towers and crenellations, and great detailing all over
