Horation Posted August 9, 2024 Posted August 9, 2024 Before it looked good, but now it looks even greater! Well done, you've earned some rest for sure I'd say! Quote
Christophh Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 Hey! This raft looks excellent and I could think of thousands of stories you could build to this raft. I am curious if the cloth sail is one from Lego or a selfmade? Please let me know! Great MOC! Quote
NOD Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 Great engineering in the construction of the raft! You implemented the creative critiques very well. I like that the tree trunks are visible and that it has rigging. Now that the large plate has been removed, the rudder is simpler and better, and the two small sails have been replaced by one large sail, I really like the raft! Quote
Marooned Marin Posted August 14, 2024 Author Posted August 14, 2024 Thanks @Christophh, I think you are right, one could come up with numerous stories around this raft, I hope however that you like the one came up with inside the comic. Final chapters are coming today and tomorrow -> HERE The sails are custom made. I used old piece of cloth, dipped in black coffee and sprayed with some strong hair-lacquer (to give it stiffness). Thanks @NOD I always appreciate your comments and final verdict. You say true, the creative critiques were right and I'm glad for their feedback because in our MOC business small details often make huge difference. .................... UPDATE Here is an update of the animated GIF of the -final- version of the raft. Quote

Maybe you could replace the blue pins with black ones, if you have any left. It would look much cleaner i think! But overall nice little build! Quote
Marooned Marin Posted August 17, 2024 Author Posted August 17, 2024 @Mister Phes This is the final-final (really final, I promise) cover image. Can you please update it in the [CONTEST] The Infamous Steve - Building Entries Index Thanks Quote

Are you sure? The previous version was superior because your subjects are facing the viewer. This one is looking at their backs! It feels impersonal like they're giving me the cold shoulder - not quite the impression you want to make to newcomers. I'd suggest having the smiling face greet your audience Quote

Here is the latest version with Steve smiling to the crowd (minus the big 6x8 plate which prompted the whole overhaul). Thank you Governor Quote
