Guix Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 (edited) Once upon a time, on the edge of the sea, Lived a pirate named Steeve, as brave as could be... He found an old map, with treasure untold, On Skull Island, where legends unfold. With Wesson, the sailor, so bold and so true, And Smith, the navigator, who always knew what to do, They built a strong raft, with sails up high, And set off on a journey beneath the blue sky. After days on the ocean, they reached the dark isle, Where skeletons lay in a sinister pile. Following the map, they found the chest near,Under a palm tree, their goal was so clear ! But from the shadows, a GIANT CRAB came ! Guarding the treasure, wild and untame. Terrified by its size, they knew they must flee, Steeve, Wesson, and Smith ran fast to the sea. Back on their raft, with hearts beating fast, They sailed away, their fears now past. Though they left without gold, their story was grand, Of wisdom in fleeing, and adventures so grand. Math Wizard Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Ahoy Matey! They call me Captain Crit in these parts and I heard that polly wants a sandwich (They’re fed up with crackers apparently) - a criticism sandwich that is! (For you landlubbers, that’s 3 seas [Cs]- Compliment, Constructive Criticism, and another Compliment). Ye did a great job buildin’ this and writin’ a story to go along with it. The story is incredible- we’ve been seeing a lot of stories written in poetic verse recently, but I think this is the best one yet! Me biggest critique here is the photo quality. It seems to be quite blurred and out of focus in some spots, in particular the crab, which I think should be the center of attention. Or mayhaps a few more closeups would help us see the rest of the build. I’m also curious how many pieces you used. This looks like it may be over 200 when you add up all those 1x1s. Me favorite part of this build is the crab- very well articulated. I never realized the ball joints came in more colors than just grey. I also like how you mimicked the feel of classic pirate builds in your creation with the color scheme. Fair Winds Matey! Quote
Guix Posted August 3, 2024 Author Posted August 3, 2024 (edited) Arf' Technicaly it's not a MOC... I just puted 6279 and 6234 together adding a random crab and some stuff. In fact, I just wanted to take a nice picture of my "Steeve" and his batch ! Don't vote for me :) 9 minutes ago, Math Wizard said: Ahoy Matey! The photo is blurry because the background (blue sky and sea) was added on Photoshop. Normally, you should see my living room table ! I didn't really count the number of pieces because I didn't really want to participate. I just wanted to take a nice picture. You are true. The crab should definitely be the center of attention ! 10 minutes ago, Math Wizard said: This looks like it may be over 200 when you add up all those 1x1s. + - 658 pieces. Definitely more than 200 I will edit this ! Thanks ! Edited August 3, 2024 by Guix Quote

The ball joints don't come in any other colors but gray, which leads me to believe that it uses knock-off parts. The printed shell is also a dead giveaway to this fact. Quote

Horation Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Good grief! That's a funky build, I guess I quite like the idea of a giant murderous crab, it's my kind of ridiculous. However, I concur with @Murdoch17, and I'm not sure this is even a valid entry : all the elements are just modified Lego or Knock-Off sets. Quote

Good question ! I am not part of the contest anymore. It was definitely not a MOC. I removed the word [ENTRY] from the title. Quote

You can still enter crab providing it's: a unique creation made clear that's voters will be voting for additional photos of the crab without Skull Island are provided Quote

The crab is not LEGO, he even says so further up thread. Quote

I missed the post @Guixwhich wrote "This is the crab from ODIPON brand, with extra Lego pieces on it" Looks like that closes the book on this one! Quote

It is not a book that closes.... but simply a page that turns ! Steeve will get through it and return to experience many other adventures !! Each crazier than the last ! Quote
