Now that the contest is over I appreciate all who commented and voted. I will be taking this apart soon to use the parts for a 16 gun flagship!

This reads like an SCP file, I have to say it's the goofiest build to date. It is chock full of funny or interesting details, and while I'd normally write a full review, I'm just too tired to do so right now.

I will critique one thing, in the chopping room, there's no red or blood anywhere, and considering the topic, that feels like a missed opportunity.

Also, @Mister Phes, I believe I have reached my 100th post, care to confirm?

Woah! That's a really dark build. Reminds me a bit of Sweeney Todd movie. ;)

Cool idea for a Pirate build. "Hand shop" isn't something that everyone could come up with but when I see it, it fits the theme so good. Such a funny concept. :D

I like the fact that the wooden floor is made with log bricks connected with SNOT but I don't like the fact that studs are visible on lower levels. Should be covered with tiles, at least at "butcher" level.

Lol I like dark Lego humour like this! You have a good imagination! Has Steve thought of expanding into the leg business as well? There is definitely a market for it.

I like how it gets darker and more macabre the lower you go. The underground tunnel / sewer to transport their victim is a good inclusion and there is some nice decay detailing in the cutaway beneath them, and I like the slime monster. Little odd addition but they add some more humour. Also noticed the clever technique to create the roof.

I agree that there needs to be some blood or something in the lower floors.

My main gripe is that the flooring in the shop doesn't work well as a floor to me, or at least all the floors should be more consistent, with all of them using the same method.

Very innovative, the SNOT techniques look great. I can't help but think of all those poor minifig torsos without their hands, though. Some tiles would also go a long way in terms of polish, such as along the edges and on the surfaces of the lower levels, especially when they are juxtaposed against the smooth SNOT upper floor.

This is a crazy story and scary shop! It looks funny with the minifigures. I don't think Lego will ever sell this as a set. The building with 2 underground floors is built with many details. I like that there is an outside and inside view.

I love it! :pir-love::laugh_hard:

The build is full of details and tells a great and funny story by itself. All its levels are greatly done. :pir-triumph:

I always wondered how Thing from The Addams family came to be... now I can safely assume he was bought from Steve!

Anyway, I give this MOC a thumbs-up!

Ok you win. Hands down the best entry. Hand-some job. Excellent handiwork! Jamie Lannister would approve!

Thank you!

Thanks! Unfortunately I did not have enough parts to make every floor like the top one.

Wow, this is a fantastic idea which i have not seen yet in any way. I love the shop itself, but i think the torturing and cutting area could use some more details! But i absolutely LOVE the idea behind this build!

Yikes, this was an interesting MOC to stumble upon. I’ve got to ‘hand’ it to you, you made me smile. I really like the adorable slimes too. Nice sideways building technique on the slimes and floor. My critique for you would be to leave the slimes out, they make it more fantastical, but I guess it’s important not to take it too seriously seeing that Steve has become a serial killer :pir-skel:

Amusing idea for a pirate themed business, quite a lucrative trade I should expect. The simple technique for the main shop floor brings a great texture, as with the roof build-up.

I agree, and also a great way how he build the different floors above the others. You really get the feeling that the torturing area is a bit hidden and underground. It is great!

Ahoy Matey!

They call me Captain Crit in these parts and I heard that polly wants a sandwich (They’re fed up with crackers apparently) - a criticism sandwich that is! (For you landlubbers, that’s 3 seas [Cs]- Compliment, Constructive Criticism, and another Compliment).

Ye did a great job buildin’ this and writin’ a story to go along with it. The build really tells it’s own story, without the narration even being necessary, its so good.

Me biggest critique here mainly what others have already said. The studs on the side of the first floor should probably be hidden, and perhaps the butcher level as well, whihc could definitely use some blood. My only unique ciritque is the minifigure dangling over the slimes- I think you should try to give him a better torso for the time period- he seems a bit out of place.

Me favorite part of this build, aside from the storytelling aspect is all the details. From the hands in the shop, to the body being hauled in outside the second level, the the cute little slimes, everywhere you look there are more details to be discovered, yet it is all a consistent story.

Thanks! I wish I had long enough tiles to cover up the sides but unfortunately that long grey plate is required to hold the floor in. I ran really low on light grey building this which is why I made the basement wall rotten! That armless torso is the pirate from vidiyo, which already had the arms removed. I might try and find an armless classic pirate on Bricklink and replace him in the future but I was a bit afraid to pull the arms off any of my personal pirate minifigures (whom I love dearly!)

Thank you! I was inspired by set 40715 to do some kind of brick built monster in the lowest dungeon. The monsters kept getting cuter and simpler each version until I ended up with the slimes. I also really like fantasy and castle so its definitely a bit of mixing going on here. Happy sails!

I have this issue all the time! I can never find enough grey pieces.

Probably a good idea with the minifigs- no need to damage extra figures. If you don't look closely, it isn't super noticeable

Great concept and I like the literal and metaphorical layers to this!
Build is well *executed* and It keeps on getting better the more you look at it.
Photos are great as well!

Two things:

Firstly, I always hesitate to pull arms off a figure, but the one time I've done it there was no damage. However, it was a new figure and I'm sure the older ones are more brittle.

Secondly, how come you're fine with unhanding (pun intended) all of those hands in the shop? I consider pulling hands off a step too far, when it comes to my own minifigs.

Edit: The quote is from @bingowaldorf, not Math Wizard.

I purchased the hands used and already separated on bricklink.
