42177 Unimog 437 Snow Plow
An alternate model for 42177 Mercedes G Wagon.

Along with @eric trax we made a bit of rush to make two alt models right after release of 42177.

Features:
 

  • HoG steering
  • Full suspension with portal axles
  • Rear differential lock
  • HI/LO gears with indicator inside the cab
  • Working inline 4 fake engine, powered from 4x4 drive with central differential
  • Front blade elevation
  • Openable doors with locks
  • Tipper bed elevation
  • Openable bed tailgate
  • Openable bonnet above detailed engine bay

Incredibly well thought out model. Iconic looks, lots of functions but also nice details in the engine bay and interior. The best part is the portal axles

The idea of making portal axles is really impressive. The overall build looks good and is, of course, a natural alternate of the G class. I also quite like the way you used the suspension arm in the front for the plow. Nice!

All of these, exactly my thoughts :) Nice one! Only a bit too fast for us regular alt model builders out there...

As for Eric's Solution, VERY WELL DONE!
I really appreciate B Models 'cause the limited pieces count is a very challenging issue if compared to a MOC.

love the overall design and the drivetrain in particular (and a special mention to the shifters used as air tanks).
