BlueSkies Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 Forgive me - im sure there are numerous threads on the site regarding this topic but I can’t seem to find. I have built all the super cars and large cars/motorcycles and am now starting on the F1 models. As many as I can are displayed in my office. But I’m now wanting to create a bespoke LEGO display area that can display my sets to their best. Online searches bring up lots of Perspex boxes or overcrowded shelves but I’m seeking inspiration for something that looks better (and don’t want to display in Perspex boxes or at angles etc etc)…..just something that looks modern, clean and professional. Any images available of solutions/designs? Quote
BlueSkies Posted August 30, 2024 Author Posted August 30, 2024 Hi David. Thanks for your speedy suggestion. Yes I looked at those a few months ago. They look great but space is my enemy. Appreciate I haven’t explained myself well. I don’t seem able to add any photos as they exceed the upload limit but I’m looking to keep a working office but with (dare I say) sophisticated and stylish display options (built in shelves, lit display niches etc). I was interested to see if anyone out there had done anything along these lines that might provide inspiration for a layout design. If I can work out how to upload photos I will :) Quote

Lipko Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 I don't like the wall solution at all, it's so unnatural for a car to stick on the wall like that. The other I don't like is when there's no space above the models. For decoration purposes, nothing can beat open shelves with some space between the models. Though it's going to collect dust. Quote
BlueSkies Posted August 30, 2024 Author Posted August 30, 2024 Thanks (both) for the guidance. Appreciate. Agree - for me a car should be displayed as you see it ‘on the road’. Might lose visibility of some mechanisms - but at least it looks right Quote

It should embed and display the image for you. As for displaying your cars, maybe you could do all the cars in a series (1:8, F1) in one column of a shelving unit? Quote
Berthil Posted August 31, 2024 Posted August 31, 2024 I've used IKEA cabinets and MOC Technic stands to display RoscoPC Historic F1 1:8 models, meanwhile 14. Quote
BlueSkies Posted August 31, 2024 Author Posted August 31, 2024 Thanks all. Appreciate. @Berthil that’s an amazing job and display. All v new to this - I had to google MOC to see what it meant 😂Clearly there’s a whole world of stuff out there that I’ve yet to learn about. Quote
