This is a container truck based on the official 8052 set, built only with pieces included in the 42043 Arocs set. It has three functions: hand of god steering, motorised bed tipping and motorised bed unloading. You can switch between the two mororised functions by flipping the lever on the left when the bed is on the truck. Since the wheels included are too large and there is no gear rack, the steering function is far from ideal. If you have smaller wheels or a gear rack available, it is highly recommended to use them according to the 8052 instructions. The motorised functions work seamlessly.  Free instructions here: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-194655/johnny.tifosi/42043-container-truck-based-on-8052/#details

I don't see any reason for using 1:17 wheels in a 1:23 scale truck. I know that's a 8052 made with 42043 parts, but it jus does not look right.

One can use whatever wheels they see fit. The point of this build was to stay within the limitations of the 42043 inventory. I describe the shortcomings in my original post anyway.

I am getting 2010 vibes with this. A year where Technic was a better place. I remember I was browsing through the catalog with some friends and everyone was hyped for the 8043 Excavator, but someone prefers the blue 8052. Making nostalgic Sets is cool

It looks like it could steer around a corner in Duckburgh, driven by the world's most famous duck. That's why I like it.

Back to the tech talk: I can imagine there are some nice challenges and workarounds when building one given model with another given inventory.

There's enough pieces in that set to make a 1:17 scale hooklift truck :)
