More reactions now that a (reasonably) clear picture of the checklist sheet has been leaked:

- the Cat Lover’s cat is indeed a new longhaired mold and it’s adorable

- Steampunk Inventor doesn’t have a prosthetic leg but his prints are amazing and it looks like his invention might just be a steam powered automaton prosthetic for his right arm

- Plushie Collector appears to be wearing one of those fluffy onesies with feet, good choice for a CMF since regular City prints should really favor being able to mix and match torsos and legs

- Longboarder has some nice detailed prints to compensate for her basic concept, as well as some sort of neck attached back accessory

- Quartermaster definitely has some sort of fabric hip piece, as well as some awesome prints in addition to her new cockatoo

- Wolfpack guy is matching the Black Falcons Falconer that we got a couple years ago beat for beat (in other words, he’s really nice)

- Boogeyman’s book hilariously says ‘BoOo’ on the cover with a nice spooky trees illustration, no sign of the inner print yet

- Pterodactyl Costume Fan is out here living her best best life and I am here for it (I just really love her face prints, she’s enjoying herself so much)

1. Never really needed the hamster/gerbil personally - not really one I'm looking forward to, but I can see why others would like him.

2. Best by a mile. I could have just been the wolf on a 1x1 plate, and I'd still want several - but to get a whole Wolfpack guy on top of it? Excellent. Gonig to be hard to find in stores, though.

3. I like him better than I initially thought. Might switch out the head to make him a robot. Decent overall.

4. Pretty generic overall, but the new arm and tripod piece have a lot of potential for the future.

5. I'm not really into the kawaii aesthetic, so I'm not a huge fan personally. Like the gerbil, though I can understand why some would like her.

6. I guess she'll fit along with my dino costume folks, and maybe be a romantic partner for Man-Bat, but that's about it.

7. Another pretty standard City affair with decent parts that can be reused. Just not for me personally.

8. I like the book, but not the monster. I would have preferred something cuter and fuzzier than soul-eating.

9. Might get two or three. It's an archetype that Lego's been missing for awhile,, so I'm glad to see it. Probably the closest there will ever be a Lego Pit.

10. I like the bird and generally like her, but something feels missing? I really can't put my finger on it. I probably just need to see it in-person. Might get a couple.

11. I know a lot of people are excited for the new cat, but it doesn't feel like the most necessary addition to the Lego animal kngdom. Decent for what it is, don't need more than one.

12. The "accessory" is a major letdown - steampunk lends itself to so many cool oddities, but the choice is a standard grabber arm? Major disappointment. The minifigure is pretty good, at least. Might get a second, but not much more than that.

Other than the Beastmaster, I think this is a perfectly average series - nothing terrible, but nothing I'm jumping to get or amass in large numbers. Ah, well - I'm sure I'll get more use out of any one of these than the entire F1 series.

Steampunk Inventor looks great. Though I wonder why didnt they just reuse Abraham Lincoln's from TLM2 series.

Also Jetpacker is confirmed to be male

I find odd that the gender ratio is 7:5 this time around but thats a minor detail I guess

It's been too long for Lincoln's hat to be reused. 2019 was 5 years ago already, and these are supposed to release in January, so it is close enough the mold was most likely destroyed. And, this is more useful  as it is without the rubber facial hair.

Also, side note: I NEED THAT INVENTOR! He will go nicely with my steampunk / mad scientist mansion.

Also the Bogeyman seems to be missing a fang in the leaflet picture. Reminds me of similar mistakes with the Hula Dancer and the Minoatur.

I mean, I know it’s called a Boogyman but I always interpreted the ‘man’ part as a more general shorthand for human like you see in ‘mankind’. I mean, you can hardly assign gender the eldritch personification of fear of the dark, can you?

And I still think the sweater colors on the Cat Lover were purposeful – of all the color combinations out there the designers just coincidentally chose the trans flag colors? Unlikely. That likely means they’re gender ambiguous on purpose.

Taking that into account would put the ratio at 5:5:2

To me this seems like a very weak and uninteresting series with a couple of exceptions..
To bad I have ordered a box, must sell the rest cheap to get rid of them i think :sceptic:

It's a decent though not amazing unlicensed series for me. Sure it's a bit of a bummer that a full third are figures that could fit into City sets (though would have less detail in some cases), but at least the amount of detail and number of accessories - including new ones - is pretty good.

Half are definite buys - Wolfpack, Octan Jetpack person, Cupid, Pirate, Cat lover, Steampunk inventor - and I might consider the longboarder and boogeyman as well.

I'm also counting at least 14 new moulds (provided the pterodactyl fan's arms are identical to each other), which is above average for a series lately.

Is it? I mean we don´t see the Boogeyman really, so 7:5 is possible, but for me it looks like a normal splitted Series.

The arms look like two different moulds to me. I mean they look rather thick and look more like they are attached to the back of the arm rather than the middle.

I'm very pleased with this new CMF series!
So many new molds, it seems! The parrot and wolf look fantastic and those fluffy thingies look very cute :sweet:
My must haves for this series are:

Wolfpack Guy
Astronaut-type person
Steampunk Inventor

Mitch

I completely agree, I’d put money on that figure being meant to represent a trans person. If I had to guess, I’d lean toward them being a male character but I’m just not totally convinced. The stripes aren’t in the same position as the flag, but I don’t think that really matters. LEGO probably wants themselves to be in a position where they can play dumb about the colors if necessary.

It makes sense when you consider the fairly recent move to include more diversity in their figures. I think it’s a really great thing to include and would resonate with plenty of people.

Word. Or just a non-binary person. Happy to see it.

High time that we had a series where male characters weren’t the majority of representation imho. We have had plenty in the past which were massively male-skewed

Or just a normal person. IMO people just read to much into some colours.

Well, they have been 50:50 for quite a while. And unless the Boogieman is female, I just don´t see it.

If you don’t think representation matters, then lucky you!

I am just thinking putting someone in one corner just because of his sweater is pigeonholing.

That beeing said, the Designers might have choosen the colours with the intend that people can feel represented but for sure not to tell you, Hey this person is wearing this colours so he must be this or that. ;)

My highlights for this set:

- the three new animal molds, not necessarily their corresponding minifigs.

- Wolfpack guy

- Pterodactyl costume - hopefully we see more: brachiosaur, and even perhaps ichthyosaur.

- hamster - more animal costumes, please!

- steampunk inventor

Letdown:

- cupid: form/ appearance should have been based on mythology.

Hare agree. Not a surprise that they went this route with the figure - but it’s ‘meh’ for me too.

I would almost bet that brachiosaur will be the next - if they will continue after that we will have to see.

I do have to say though, that I am kinda disappointed by the Pterosaur Costume. I am just not completely sold on the head, which looks just kinda strange - I guess the main reason is, because the beak is just so short. I mean, I get they probably did it so you can see the face better, but I think a longer beak would just work so much better. Will still get it though.

My favourite of the series is of course the Wolpfack Bandit, with Wolf. Pirate and Steampunk guy look also great and the Hamster-Costume is actually really cute.

Not sure if I will get any of the rest, probably the Boogeyman and the Octan guy.

To me, this series is excellent and more fascainting.  Regular CMF series intend to be DIVERSE for themes (pirates, castle, city, fantasty/mytholical, space, etc etc). I just don’t understand why you think this series is “weak”? I mean sure you are into pirates, animals, and castle but why?

I also like themed sereis like Series 14, 18, 22 and 26.
