The official name of the Bogeyman is.... Bogeyman

I bet someone on TLG is pretty upset they had to call him BogeyMAN instead of Bogeyperson or Bogeyfan lol

Sorry but i have no idea what you are talking about.

Probably the same person that came up with “grandma visitor” “vampire knight” and some other honorable mentions :laugh_hard:

"Fantasy nightmare visitor of unspecified gender" doesn't have quite the same ring to it as the Bogeyman. Plus it leaves open the possibility of a Bogeywoman to pair up with him in a future series.

Knowing the "female version" Lego CMF trope - it will probably be the same figure but with eyelash and lipstick/pink stuff. I hope we will never see that with this one. Bogeyman is a folklore creature. It's a single charater that represents an ancient fear of seeing a dangerous "unknown man" hiding in your house.

Agreed. Therefore, I don’t know what Robert8 was talking about. Of course, there are different monsters out there - in closet or under bed. But Boogeyman is the most known monster in Western folklore. The gender doens’t matter. “Bedtime Visitor” might do better but accept Boogeyman’s offical name.

It's been a while since the last silly female version. I think they might have learned their lesson...

S11 Lady Robot was still ok but the S13 Cyclops Lady was too much

And it has been a while since the male variant - last time we got male variant was figuring skate from the most recent series. It’s nto always female variation.

I still want to see Fairytale prince to pair with Fairytale Princess (imean, duh, a frog prince!), Retro Spaceman to Retro Space Girl (Series 26), Groom to Bride, Fire Dancer to Hula Dancer, Dino Fighter to Dino Hunter, Grandma Wolf to Grandma Visitor (not really gender counterpart ….), Dino Diggger to Palenotologist, etc.

The existing Retro Space Hero (series 17) already pairs with the Retro Space Heroine (series 26).

And they did a granny/wolf for Little Red Riding Hood in the Pop Up Book IDEAS set. Repeating it in CMF would be a bit boring.

Right? You can imagine someone building a cute fem-coded robot, but even if cyclopses were a natural breeding species, there's literally no reason the females would wear lipstick. I don't object to female counterparts in principle; just don't make them look inherently ridiculous.

But how would we know it was meant to be a female if there was no stereotypical  lippy that all adult females have to wear? Aside from the crop top, eyelashes and the beauty spot on the cheek, of course. :-)

Boring for those who were able to get their hands on that minifigure, perhaps. For the rest of us, getting it readily available for $5 USD versus the unpredictable secondary market might be more than enough incentive to pick one up.

Liking this series much more now that better pics are available. I'll definitely get the Steampunk inventor and will try to find the Wolfpack Beastmaster. I wish the Jetpack Racer was more space-like, guess imagination will have to fill in the gaps. Boogeyman and Pirate Quartermaster are tempting (the latter if only for the sulphur crested cocky).

Ashnflash has his review on YouTube if you guys want a good look at them. I’d say the wolf pack guy is even better in person than in the pictures, the bogeyman face looks weird from the side view and the jet pack racer’s faster prints will be very useful for other figures, overall I think they all look a lot better in person than the renderings.

The same can be said for any figure in a regular set. They could put something similar into CMF.

The wolf and granny were for sale on PAB online at the time and readily available on BL at $4-5. They still are easily available new at $6-8. Regular CMF buyers at the time would also have a wolf head they could put on an old lady's body if they wanted a version.

We now get just 12 unlicensed/generic CMF a year. Getting somewhat niche figures very similar to others that have been done in sets just seems a waste of a slot to me.

I love those cupid wings. Makes it look like it can be used for "younger" bird people from DnD minifigures or legends of Chima.

I think the really interesting thing about those Cupid wings, now that the reviews are out, is that their attachment point is an anti-stud. Having them attach to a neck bracket instead of the neck bracket being built in makes them much more versatile than previous wings. You could combine those with the white foal from a couple of years ago to make your own baby Pegasus, or literally have pigs fly! It will be very interesting to see where they show up in the future – I suspect we’ll be seeing an army of small flying animals in Dreamzzz someday.

Weird that the minifigs are $5 in US and €4 in Europe.

I am actually surprised they didn´t rise the prices on those here yet. Hope it stays that way though,

This is so clearly a dig to the lady cyclops lol.

I am so annoyed that they switched to boxes and I have to resort to using ear wax removal kits and downloading an app that most of these boxes are not even compatible with to try and see who I got, if they raised prices I'd probably go full Karen and call customer service lol. I absolutely hate the switch from bags to boxes I can't imagine tolerating a price increase as well. Literally barely buy mini figures now that its gone this way. Actually would love for them to go back to bags eventually these boxes are too much of a hassle imo.

I gotta say, I was not expecting to love the plush toy collector as much as I have. Firstly, I think she would make a great girlfriend to the s6 sleepy head in their pajamas. I love that they include these plushies in various themes to collect. It's so meta. love the purple one in Dreams, love the orange one in friends, so excited to start collecting these plushies. Sometimes the company does gimmicks that work, other times, they don't. This, imo, is a gimmick that works.

Also love the jet pack racer but wow had no idea his jet pack build was so ugly, lol.

Yes Marvel S2 was completely blind and the first unlicensed series in boxes was a mix (or blind depending on region), but since the latest two series (Space and DoD) have you actually had any problem with the apps?

It's quicker and easier than feeling the packets ever was, and I was quite good at feeling the packets...
