Great luck for you! And great news for all of us that the apps are up to date and working for this series already!

I’ve got plans to go to my local Lego store on January second (there’s a gift card under the Christmas tree with my name on it and I’ve got over 18000 saved up), so it’s nice to know the apps already work now (whether there will be any beastmasters left once I get there is another matter entirely).

Best of luck to you on January 2! I'm not a castle fanatic like a lot of people on these forums, although I certainly appreciate the figures very much, so I felt a little bad for snagging two Beastmasters on my first go of it, rather than leaving it behind for some other fan. But I wanted the extra wolf, and the guilt has already dissipated so c'est la vie! LOL

I also had some luck recently - a local store had not one, not two, but five cases out! Got a few Wolfpacks for myself, plus a pirate, astronomer, and jetpack guy for some gifts, plus helped a few other people find the ones they were looking for. The Minifig Scan app worked perfectly - I really appreciate that the images "linger" a little longer so I can remember what I just scanned. I even got them at $4 a pop thanks to a Christmas toy coupon. A Christmas miracle indeed!

Also, for me, the Wolfpacks all seemed to be concentrated on the lower level of the case, in the front left corner. Not sure if that will be consistent for everyone or not, but that might be a good place to start if you need to go quick.

What app are you using for scanning codes? And where do you read them?

Minifig scan works good  You scan the codes on the bottom of the box it shows you on the app

Didn’t feel like leaving the house on the first, so I’d accepted I would probably not easily find the Wolfpack Beastmaster today, but wow… the Lego store I went to had been completely picked clean - apparently people had been asking about him even yesterday. I also checked a Barnes & Noble later in my travels and its two boxes had been similarly strip mined. Luckily I managed to grab the other three I wanted – I’ll just have to keep looking for when new boxes get stocked.

Checked my Walmart.  None of the new series.  There was a guy unpacking boxes including lots of LEGO so I asked but he couldn't find any.  He said they have a lot of boxes marked not to put out until week 50 which should be in two weeks.  They did have an almost full hanging display box of the D&D series.

Dude, I’m an army builder but not a big scale, I wanted like two or three beastmasters Wolfpack, but scalpers are literally raiding boxes to get them, I ran through at least new four boxes with zero Wolfpack Minifig. My Walmart got a brand new one setup and within minutes the only figures gone were the Wolfpacks that came in, everything else was untouched. I got lucky with friend at the LEGO store who put one out a minute before I got there but the box only had one. Oh well at least I got one 😬😬 but dude it doesn’t help people are selling these 20-30 bucks each and think they struck gold 😭

I agree… and have witnessed it myself. You see two types: AFOLs who are respectful of the product and of other customers but are still looking for their favs, and the scalpers which are behaving ruthlessly now courtesy of the scanning apps. Bottom line, it seems impossible to find a wolfpack at random (just like it was for the dragonborn). I have reluctantly installed the app myself, went and queued three days in a row before the store opened, only to find the cmfs ransacked within seconds of the doors opening. I did get a few “vikings” torso from BAM as consolation prize but I think this “market” is as unhealthy as it gets and it took a turn for the worst with the scanning apps drawing in hords of wannabe flippers.

To be fair, your average series doesn’t usually have one character that’s so much more in demand than all the others. Series 26 didn’t have any sort of problem like this, for example. The Beastmaster just has the perfect combination of classic castle faction update plus very cool new animal mold - both of which naturally existing in packs - that means pretty much everyone wants one and many people want several. How time consuming feeling the bags was might have discouraged some scalpers in the past, but not that many - especially since this one would still have been extremely easy to pick out with the old feel method.

We all just need to take a deep breath and keep in mind that it will probably be much easier to find the Beastmaster in a few weeks when the initial hype dies down. Especially with the Ideas Twilight set due to be revealed any day now (crazy to think that’s almost certainly the reason we’re finally getting a proper wolf).

I found the Series 27 CMF's in my local Scheels store today.  There had to have been at least 400-500 figures if not more in the display.  Scanned them all and not 1 Wolfpack Beastmaster in the entire lot.  Surprisingly to me there were less than 10 of the Pirate Quartermaster but plenty of the Steampunk Inventor.  Lots of all the others.  I grabbed a few of the Pirate, Steampunk, Bogeyman & one of the Plush toy one for the Plushies.  Also managed to get a few of the new polybags.

I agree! I picked up 3 paladins this week together with series 27 since my neighbour grocery store has CMF on sale (excellent timing). The paladins have been left alone on shelf there for a long time now, the first 2 weeks are crazy then most people have gotten what they want or give up, when the shops restock later the chances are a lot higher for a wolf or two

:oh3: I had not thought about that possibility, but you could be right :steve: CMF typically use some of the budget for moulds that other sets without the budget need, and Ideas usually do not have a high budget for moulds etc..

This is typical Brick Fanatics non-news. Every single CMF release since the second half of 2020 has come out one month later in Australia and NZ than the rest of the world. That's just the release schedule for Aus/NZ at this point.

If every series is delayed, then the whole mention of that the series would have shorter shelf life because it still retires in April is kinda megablocks too. I mean in the end it retires when it is sold out and when shops discount them to make space for the new one.

Aside from that the Title is pretty much clickbait too, since they could just write in Australia and NZ.

Guess it comes down to where one lives. I am in a big city and the only shot at finding sought after cmfs right off the bat. It only gets worse after that. I bumped into D&Ds yesterday, scanned them on the off chance I’d finally find a dragonborn… the whole series was there bar for that one fig. No doubt it will be the same for the beast master. It’s not the end of the world but no one should have to fight to get their hands on something as trivial as a cmf without feeding scalpers.

Well, i order CMF Series 27 6 Pack off S@H. We will see if I am lucky to get Beastmaster minifigure.

Curious to hear what 6 you received. In the past have the 6 packs been the same 6 in each “set”?

I’m only looking for 3 & CMFs usually get cleared out around here until months and months later. Hoping the 3 I want (Cupid, Boogeyman and Pterodactyl) are in a single 6 pack.

It depends on luck mainly. In the end you have to be the first to get there once a fresh box was opened. At least before someone seeking for the Dragonborn gets them. Another option would be, though might be to late for it now, to ask if they have another box in store.

6packs are really a strange choice to me, since if you plan to get a whole series buying two might get you a whole series - or twice the same - or a completely different constellation since I belive people posted here before that there are not two different sets of them but apparently several different mixes. Eitherway, not idea why they don´t just start selling a complete Series everywhere. They could even just put it in one box instead of several small ones and save packaging material with it.

It is such an awful click-bait website filled with the most awful ads. Every time I fool myself into clicking to it I feel like this:
it-crowd-infected.jpg?w=616

Which is so curious, because I've seen some of their YouTube videos which can be pretty good.

I got my first few series 27 figures the other day. I ordered a full set in a pre-sale, so just want to get some duplicates. Managed to find two more pirate quartermasters, another cat lover, steampunk inventor, and a cupid to get a matching pair. No wolfpack, but I would like to get another couple if I can. Mostly for the wolves. Let's see if I find them!

Well, whatever way they have their ads embedded got around my blocker, so the site has been added to my blocklist instead, I'll just never be able to visit at all.

You'd think a site devoted to Lego as a hobby would care about general design ethos a bit more.

It didn’t occur to me either until I saw the Ideas set listed as coming next month, but then it occurred to me that the new wolf would look an awful lot prettier than the brick built werewolf in the original submission. Admittedly, from what little I remember, Twilight’s werewolves are bigger in comparison to a human than real wolves. But if given the option between a slightly too big and really clunky brick built wolf that will add a lot of pieces or a slightly too small molded wolf it’s entirely possible the designers would choose the latter. It does seem a little too coincidental that we got a new wolf right before a set that features a wolf comes out - especially since we know we got the goat in last year’s first CMF because the designers wanted it for a big set too.

Well, in a pleasant surprise, I went into a local Best Buy and they had three clean boxes. I came away with the seven wolfpack I was hoping to eventually get. Very fortunate.

And I found the new botanicals polybag that I didn't think I'd see, so that was even better.

If the wolf comes in a set, that could mean it will be on PaB eventually. Although given the cost of the goat, it may well be very expensive compared to a CMF pack.

They have the tower boxes with a complete series that a shop here sells, they even sent them to Lan members for review now I see, so they could just start selling those

I fear you might be right :hmpf_bad: They eared money on the goat in the CMF when it was a new mould. Then they recoloured it and included it in a set and demand more than what the hole CMF cost for it, that is just greed

I wasn’t able to do any LEGO shopping in the first few days of the year as I was travelling. When I finally got the chance, I wasn’t optimistic about getting all the CMFs I wanted: Beastmaster, Pirate, Bogeyman, Pterodactyl and Cupid. I had to visit four stores to get one or two of each. Unsurprisingly, the Beastmaster was the hardest to find. Some stores had been picked clean of those. There were plenty of Cat Lovers and Telescope Kids though but they weren’t on my wish list - or, it seems, anyone else’s.
