There were plenty of Cat Lovers and Telescope Kids though but they weren’t on my wish list - or, it seems, anyone else’s.

That might just be chance/your area. When I was sifting through boxes I didn’t notice appreciably more of those two - instead I was seeing an awful lot of hamster costume kids. The only universal is Beastmaster being most popular, everything else is chaos theory.

Yeah, I know but as far as I know they only sell them in few countries (only Denmark and Skandinavia or something) And I don´t understand two things, 1st of all why they actually don´t sell them in every country and if it is just through their online shop. And second, why they even keep on selling a complete set out of different boxes and not include them all in one, smaller box. I mean in the end it is probably easier that way to package them but still.

Well, whatever way they have their ads embedded got around my blocker, so the site has been added to my blocklist instead, I'll just never be able to visit at all.

You'd think a site devoted to Lego as a hobby making money would doesn't care about general design ethos a bit more.

Fixed.  Also, they have malware that somehow gets around decent security software as well.  Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the malware but check your task manager for weird programs that may be running.

Light brown, black, and white. In either case, though, I highly doubt that they would use the wolves in the Twilight set - in the movie, they're bigger than people and would need to be as big as the old Wargs.

I fear you might be right :hmpf_bad: They eared money on the goat in the CMF when it was a new mould. Then they recoloured it and included it in a set and demand more than what the hole CMF cost for it, that is just greed

I got seven or eight of the toucan birdwatcher CMF because I feared they wouldn't bring it back and/or it would be expensive if standalone and things were more reasonable then. Now, as you say, the animals can be more expensive standalone, which seems crazy.

Always have to consider the animals and anything dual molded.  Most seem to be going for around $2.00 if not more if they make it to PAB.  Dual molded can be $3.50-$5 or more just like the turtle & goat.  Figure that you get all the minifig pieces too & it's a no brainer to grab multiples for the animals.  Even better if you find the CMF's on sale somewhere.  I found a bunch of D&D ones at 1/2 off within a month of release at a local Target so I bought a lot of them for the parts.  I know I got several of the Diver with turtle, Toucan & Koala in case they never showed up again.  Also a bunch of the girl with the Foal.  Look at what the individual parts for the Space Baby cost, way more than the CMF's were.

The goat isn’t dual moulded, is it?

I downloaded the scanner app and it seems to work really well...the problem is someone (or several someones) got there before I did and bought all of the beastmasters and boogeyman. Based on the figures left it seems like they started with at least 4 or 5 cases. I hope they were actual collectors and not resellers although I probably know the answer to that.

Not sure if the horns are molded or painted but the part is over $5.  If there's any printing they up the price considerably.   Look at the difference in price of any of the plain birds and the ones with printed eyes or even the butterflies.

Sure. The goat is definitely an outlier though, for perceived ‘worth’. Same is true of the baby elephant from a couple years back - it was silly money on Bricks & Pieces

Anyone else in the US seem to have the stores in their area dragging to put out the new series this year?  I've always gotten the January release at Target during the last week of December the last couple years.  Some of the Walmart have put them out, but not the closest one to me.  I managed to get a Quartermaster at the next one over, since it's right by Target.  All Wolfpack were long gone.  Hopefully, I'll be able to get 2 of them when they eventually put them out.

Same. Target's website doesn't even have a listing / sku for the individual packs yet, just the 6-pack, which they don't carry in stores. I managed to get three of the five i'm interested in and Bricklinked the other two. Yeah, I paid a premium for wolfpack and boogieman but now I don't have to run around. Whatever.

The only place I've found them is in my local Scheels (No Beastmaster found in about 500 boxes I scanned).  Been to 3 different Targets & 1 Walmart with no sign of the CMF's.  When I was in Walmart the other day the guy that was unpacking boxes in the toy section told me that a lot of the LEGO was labeled not to be put out until their week 50 which should be sometime toward the end of next week. They did have an almost full new hanging display of the D&D series.  He was unpacking some LEGO but we didn't see any boxes that could have been the Series 27 CMF's.  I haven't ventured to check in Best Buy or Barnes & Noble yet.  And I discovered that the Public Improvement Fees for the shopping center where Scheels is has basically been upped to the point where it adds an additional 4.5% onto the cost of items purchased there in addition to state & local Sales tax so that may become my store of last resort.

Went to a Barnes and Noble a few days ago excited to run into several CMF series at once. I was excited to try scanning the boxes and seeing if the app really works. I was disappointed to see that I was only able to do 12 scans before I had to pay upgrade to get unlimited scans through the app I chose. I was trying to be frugal so paying to scan the boxes is kind of annoying. Cause who's to say you'll get everyone you wanted with the first twelve boxes you scanned? Especially unlikely when you are intending to buy from several different series. I was also disappointed to see most of their cmf was behind the counter and the lady working the counter kept rushing me despite there having been no line when I was doing so. She eventually didn't let me scan the boxes for the newest Series so I left with only 4 from Series 27.

Has anyone ever heard of Barnes and Noble not letting people scan the figure boxes? Feel like that cashier was just giving me a hard time she was over my should non stop it was just weird, but I'm glad I got lots of figures.

Got everyone from the Space series 26 except the Robot Nurse and UFO suit guy. Also the Boogeyman, Pirate, Pterodactyl suit, and Telescope kid from Series 27, and just the Barbarian Woman from Series 25. Not a bad haul but kind of awkward experience buying it that soured it for me. From being rushed and denied to scan more boxes, to having to pay the app for more scans, not a fan of my last time getting figures, but I was still so happy to have this barcode system to begin with. it's just so good and so clever.

I guess if people scan boxes and leave the B&N with undesirable figures they struggle to sell, then sure it makes sense to limit scanning, but it was still a lame thing to hear.

Wish Series 25 was more consistent with the barcodes. Only 3 of the ones I grabbed had barcodes and just my luck it was the characters I hate from this Series. The train suit kid, workout Girl, and video game girl were the 3 figures I did not enjoy from this recent series 25 and seeing them be the only boxes from said series with barcodes I could scan was annoying. I wish I left with more from this series but it was all a gamble given you had no clue who was in most boxes. Glad we can scan them all, now, though.

There's several other apps that are completely free. I use Minifig Scan, but there are others that also work. Brick Fanatics is just greedy, frankly.

I've been using Minifig Scan also with little trouble.  I find an occasional code that won't scan but overall I've had a 100% success rate with the ones that do scan. I originally was using the Brick Search app but it was quite sluggish for the D&D series so I switched to Minifig Scan.  Once I heard they were limiting you to 12 free scans with Brick Search I deleted it.  As already stated there are plenty of free apps that work much better than Brick Search.

What difference does it make, whether they are a collector or reseller? The result is the same, they have cleared out the stock of specific figures.

I keep saying, any method you use to find one of the minifig you want, scalpers can use to find all of the minifig you want before you even get there. The overall community would be better off if the process were truly blind.

One is collecting the other is taking advantage of the community. I'm not an army builder, I just want one of a specific figure, but I'm not going to begrudge someone building a scene or army.

I found the figs at a Wegman's in Virginia but they'd already been rifled through—I managed to get one of several figs but all of the Wolfpack figs and pirates were gone. As a non-army builder it's a little frustrating when it's this hard to just get one of each.

Haven't been out a lot since then to check other stores but I hope I'll have better luck elsewhere.

thanks for letting me know, it was the first app anyone recommended to me, then I figured it was quicker to just pay the update then research and download a new app once I was already at the store. I'll definitely be using the free apps moving forward.

Gotta say the Telescope kid ended up being one of my favorites. He is sort of gender neutral in. way, I can see various people identifying with him. While I loved Series 26, a lot of the designs were hyper specific references and quite niche, there's something very refreshing about something so human like him. Also just loving this color scheme, his rocket shirt has got to be one of my favorite shirts in a while. Really cool fig.

Also really appreciating how huge the Boogey Man's jaw is. Looks like he can swallow you whole, scary looking guy. I feel like he ties in well with the plushie collecter. She's all cozy in bed with her stuffed animals, and he's probably lurking under her bed or in her closet ready to spook her. They pair quite nicely.

Just buy the whole case, scan in the parking lot, then return the rest.

So i’ve been in 9 or 10 stores and they all had loads of boxes. But none of them had a wolfpack guy. Almost as if someone was going to every store as well to buy all the wolfpack people. Frustrating!

You guys been dealing with everything that’s happened to me since January 1st for me locally.

I only found two beast masters out of the 400 scans I did, the best chance I ever had was at the lego store, my buddy kept putting out boxes and only found one in a boxes, fresh. Also, also, a scalper has been wiping them clean from all my Walmarts near me, because for one, new boxes would be placed on the shelves, and only a few pieces were moved, deducing it was the beastmaster. Walmart’s inventory system is better than targets at the moment, the Walmart app will legit let you know if series 27 minifigs are available in your store by letting you “picking” them up same day, that’s how it’s easy to know if a store has it, therefore narrowing down gas wasted on other stores. I went to all the stores that had them in stock and sure enough, all were gone through when I arrived.

Collectors and army builders will wait until the hype dies down, scalpers want to get a piece of those insane reselling prices for them third party at the moment. If you guys search BrickLink you will find that other series 27 figures on sale will be like 30-100 something, Wolfpack beastmaster is sitting at 1,500 figures available, so yeah for sure he’s the most sought after.

To be honest using apps to scan for figs is the most clean method in all my years of blind box searching, because when the marvel series 2 figures were released and the series 25, it was a blood bath, I would see how many blind boxes were returned glued or taped shut, or just completely left open in stores.

Walmart on the other hand is starting to enforce store credit policy with returns, meaning you won’t get your cash back when you buy entire boxes of them

but also Barnes and nobles was always a no hands on blind boxes policy, they always kept them behind the counters with theft protection boxes around them, even with the feel bags, it doesn’t surprise they wouldn’t allow you to scan them!

It’s been frustrating Minifigs hunting, but that’s part of the process, imho, the only thing lego can do to combat scalping is increase the amount of beast masters per box, because it’s only been one or two at the moment.
