I Scream Clone Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 (edited) I would like to nominate The Brickster for creating Gravestone! This series of really well designed MOCs brought the town alive, be it through unique charcters, ghost train, and ramshackle buildings it had it all! I refuse to nominate myself at this stage, though it would be cool to be the Master of SNOT! mwaahahahahaha (i hope no one gives me that tag line....) I made a website about european afols. Silly idea There's always someone who has bigger toys than the rest! Edited August 4, 2008 by I Scream Clone Quote
Dark Sword Ragnarok Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 WOW! everyone is nominating themselves...is there no humility? I want to nominate the Brickarms guy. I don't know him on a first name basis, and I could look it up on his website, but I am too lazy. I'm sure as he starts to branch out to different eras he will be even more popular. Some purist may not like what he is doing, but isn't that the whole point of carving out a niche, seeing a demand that is not filled and filling it.Now let's hope Brickarms comes out with an 18th century Martini-Henry Rifle with bayonet for my British Army. I'll take 1,000 of those and some pith helmets if you please. Tony Well, he did ask the EB community to share anything special they're doing, although, I would like to nominate Will Chapman, the creator of Brickarms. I don't currently own any Brickarms products, but I plan on getting some once the new knive and sword parts come out. However, I am currently dipping into the comics niche. So far, I've done three, the links are in my sig. I plan on doing more, too. I would appreciate it if anyone would read them, the seccond and third ones are much better than the first. So, if you don't think the first is good, please take the time to read the other two. I know, shameless advertising and all, but still, take a look if you have some time to spare! Every view is appreciated. DSR Quote
Joebot Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 I've got my Lego superhero comic, The Unlikely Society, which I've been making on and off for about five years now (yeesht, is that right?!?!). There are lots of other Lego comics, mostly in the fantasy and sci-fi genres. I've never come across any other superhero stories though, so I guess I'm still somewhat unique in that regard. Quote
Brickmaster Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 I make sub - par dark bley mocs. That's about it. And lately I've been inactive, which doesn't help. Quote
blueandwhite Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 I'm too lazy to make a niche for myself. Heck, the best builders let their MOCs speak for themselves. It's my goal to get to a level where I can do the same. IMO, the people who have really carved a niche for themselves on this site are those who have the phrase "MOC Expert" under their names. Good solid building skills are what LEGO is all about. Quote
the enigma that is badger Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 Just wanted to give a big thanks to those that mentioned Will Chapman and BrickArms. I provided Will with a link to this thread, and he was exceptionally honored. Really, Will gets a tremendous boost from hearing how much fans love his work; it really inspires him to produce even more great accessories! As for a "niche," I can't get into specifics just yet, but I can say that Will has a lot of great ideas for the future that will expand BrickArms into new, exciting places. Thanks again! Quote
Alice Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 I guess I stand out just being who I am - a female fan of LEGO (although you can hardly call me girly, but more so a feminist). AFFOLs ON!!!! I'm a girly AFFOL and my fiance is a "Global Moderator" (which also means I am "Saint Alice") . That should have to count for some special EB niche! Quote
