Swashbuckle Studios Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 (edited) Here is my version of the iconic Eldorado Fortress! "A reimagining of the iconic **LEGO Eldorado Fortress**, blending classic pirate nostalgia with fresh details. This rebuild adds modern touches while staying true to the fortress’s adventurous spirit, capturing the essence of 80s LEGO design with enhanced creativity." It started with just the fortress but when I was building it I realized it could be the start of something bigger so I decided to create Port Azure which you see continues behind the fortress. And there will be more buildings coming. Some are already built but not posted. If you like it you can follow me on Facebook, Instagram or Flickr under "Swashbuckle Studios" Enjoy! /Erik Edited October 7, 2024 by Swashbuckle Studios Uploaded correct links to images Quote
NOD Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 Great MOC of the Eldorado Fortress! I really like the architecture. It's a lot of fun to see the minifigures doing their activities. Quote
Marooned Marin Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 I love the wooden, brown/reddish-brown, pier. This was a frequent complaint by many, but you did a great job in this expansion with it. One of the best expansions/mod of the set I've seen so far. Welcome to the forum @Swashbuckle Studios. Quote
Yperio_Bricks Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 Wonderful update of the set It's such a lively scene and the whole island looks so lush with all the trees and vegetation. Brown docks of course I like that Spinoza is about to fire the cannon while the soldier is looking in the other direction And welcome to the forum @Swashbuckle Studios! Quote
Jack Sassy Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 An impressive design! Glad to see it is not just a double fortress expansion, but an expansion out of this world. Sterling effort, good job! Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 Excellent creation, and you have the "real" monkey! Congratulations! Quote
Grin Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 Absolutely stunning. I'm really into this kind of MOD/enhancing/completing existing sets, and I really love the result of your work! Quote
Capt Wolf Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 I started to do an Eldorado expansion but never followed through, and it would have paled in comparison to what you've done! This is so full of activity; it looks lived in. Just a wonderful job! Quote
GeoBrick Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 That's a beautiful extension here, with a few well-needed amenities to complement the build. And the enhancements on the original parts of the set don't hurt either. Maybe the only additional improvement I can think of is a canopy or awning over the cooking area. Quote
DonQuixote Posted October 10, 2024 Posted October 10, 2024 Looks very good, however I would have kept the black dock because of nostalgia. I did extend my Eldorado Fortress with a second copy Quote
Swashbuckle Studios Posted October 10, 2024 Author Posted October 10, 2024 Hi everyone and thank you so much for welcoming me to the forum and for all your dead on aspects of the build. The dock, the vegetation, the doubling of the fortress. I decided to expand it in a way I thought suited it the best and I am going for a lot of detail and for a lot of action and things going on. More fun in my book :) On my other forums/social media I just posted more pics of the Merchant's House. The building located next to the Fortress. What are your thoughts? Do I also post them in this thread or do I create a new one for just the House? There will be many more pics of buildings and other things as I continue to expand Port Azure as I call it. What would be the best way to show you those? Create a thread for the whole port or for every building I add? Cheers guys! 😃 Quote

It's part of this build so add them here :) Also hi, it was me who invited you here, when I saw this set on the other platform I was floored and knew people here will appreciate it. Wonderful MOC/MOD that truly feels like a partner set to POBB :) I'd love to see your take on the Govn's office expansion, as the original Eldorado set had it half-open/half-assed (and the photos you added only a bit of it) Edited October 10, 2024 by zinnn Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 Amazing! It's all so rich in details that you risk getting lost! I really like the photo of the monkey lighting the cannon's fuse ...and the detail of the crate lifted with the wooden crane! Quote
Swashbuckle Studios Posted October 16, 2024 Author Posted October 16, 2024 Alright! Yeah thx for the invite Zinnn :) .. I just hope I can bring some inspiration for others but I am also happy that others like what I am building. And if we are talking about the little room that sits on top (I guess the goven's office) there are two pics above. One of each half of the room. One of them is the one where you can see the monkey light the fuse of the cannon and the other is the 2nd last one. Lego train! I love details! Personally I love to look at a build and find new details I haven't seen before :) I hope you'll like these new pics from the Merchant's house (located next to the fortress). Next building up for display will be the Gun shop. Stay tuned for those pics! Quote
bingowaldorf Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Gorgeous build, great work! I love how well the extra parts are integrated with the official set. Quote
