Posted October 15, 2024Oct 15 Over the years, I’ve acquired a fair number of LEGO sets. As a child, I was hooked on LEGO, and now I still have a few sets built in a side room, but the rest of the sets (mainly Modular, Harry Potter, and Technic LEGO) I’ve kept in good condition. It’s become quite clear to me that some of my sets are worth a lot of money now. I want to sell a few of my sets (not here, as that’s against the rules—I’m just asking for advice) because, among other things, I could use a bit of extra cash due to the aftermath of COVID and some other issues. Where would be the best place to sell them? When I look at Bricklink, there’s a lengthy verification process. On this forum, you need at least 100 posts, which I don’t have, and I don’t want to spam the forum just to reach 100 posts. I’m a bit older and don’t have the energy for that anymore. I’ve had an (online) business, so I could list them in my online store, but nobody visits or finds my store. What’s the best thing I can do? I hope someone can take the time to help me out. I’m not super tech-savvy with computers or phones, and such. Best regards,

October 15, 2024Oct 15 Ebay, or Facebook or similar local marketplaces. However, "valuable" lego doesn't sell quickly at higher end prices. If you want a quick sale, you'll have to be under the low end of sold prices, and significantly lower for local pickup, even more so if you have no history of selling.
October 16, 2024Oct 16 Author Thank you both for your responses. Yes, I am willing to sell it at a price between retail and its actual value. I've never really used social media, so I will give it a try. I never thought it would be this difficult (or maybe there's something I don’t quite understand).
October 16, 2024Oct 16 @zeronthegreat You could check if there is a 3rd party LEGO store near where you live. Bricks & Minifigs is one of the bigger stores with multiple locations (at least in the USA). They typically buy used or 2nd-hand LEGO outright for cash or trade-in and will most likely give the best price for the quickest turn-around and lowest effort on your part. If you take the time to sell online through your own store/eBay/BrickLink/social media, you will likely make more money, but it will take much more time and effort.

These are based by location, so you will find a Spanish one, so you should be able to find one near you (depending how rural you are). Within a LUG you will find adults who are likely to be interested in buying, and also understand the value in a given set. Obviously do your own pricing so no-one underpays. Best to look up 'recent sales' of any given set on Bricklink.com. You can browse by location here, and get contact details of the main person: https://lan.lego.com/clubs/overview/ If techs not your thing, then they may have a contact phone number, or a monthly meet-up, which might suit you better.
