May I present the new gem of my small collection? Set 4778 Desert Biplane from 2005, a promotional set which apparently was only sold by airlines on flights.

I found it in an almost complete condition with all stickers in perfect shape on a flea market and paid only 10 Euros for it. This set was on my wish list for a very long time (I even thought about rebricking it) so I'm very happy to have it now as part of my Adventurers' themed collection.

It's a bit larger than the planes in set 5928 Bi-Wing Baron, set 5948 Desert Expedition or set 7420 Thunder Blazer. But it is so cool and has a very nice design. Nonetheless I did some minor modifications. For example I added part 4185 Technic Wedge Belt Wheel (Pulley) in dark bluish gray behind the propeller to give the motor a better look.

I'm jealous. I've wanted that for a long, long time.

Also, I didn't know Lucius Malfoy knew how to fly a plane!

Yes, it was an incredible find.

Well, perhaps I should swap the pilot - Harry Cane would be a good choice. :pir-triumph:

I love it when Lego reuse random minifigure parts in a set that they don't seem to fit in. The other example that comes to mind is the Naboo Pilot torso being used in iirc Custom Car Garage.

This is a cool set actually! Sadly I was a few years after this in getting airline exclusive sets, and they'd stopped being quite so cool by then

Nice find. I never knew about this biplane. It actually appears to be a solid build too.
