Objective: Searching for Jedi
Background: Iya is around 20 standard years old and is member of the Fallanassi, an order adept in using the white current - a synonym for the Force.

Name: Luke Skywalker
Species: Human
Affiliation: New Republic, Jedi
Objective: Luke is on the track of some lost Jedi lightsabers and now investigating some obscure cultists calling themselves Reborn.
Background: No need to introduce Luke. He's the Jedi who destroyed the first Death Star and was involved in the destruction of the second as well. He's a hero and carries the burden of expectations of the whole New Republic.

Antagonists:

Name: Tho-Ral Jowns
Species: human
Affiliation: Reborn Empire, Acolytes of the Beyond
Objective: Finding his sister and overthrowing the Rebel Rule
Background: Formerly a Jedi youngling with his twin sister Ramalon, Tho-Ral and her became agents of the Empire and part of the Inquisitorius, some time after the new order took control. To completly break his will, the Emperor presumably gave order to Darth Vader to kill Tho-Rals sister. Tho-Ral learned about her whereabouts from another former youngling named Nick Wosh. After Tho-Ral failed to kill the latter, the two allied and went to search for Ramalon. At some point, this alliance broke and Tho-Ral was consumed by the Dark Side again...

Name: The Doctor, real name unknown
Species: human, modified
Affiliation: Reborn Empire, Acolytes of the Beyond
Objective: Create an army of Reborn Dark Jedi for his new masters
Background: First and foremost, the Doctor is a scientist. More than 20 years ago, he worked on a secret project to infuse 'the Force' into living beings at Mt. Tantiss, lead by director Hemlock. The project got cancelled, but the Doctor survived and travelled the galaxy. At some point he met the Witches of Dathomir, where he learned more about the obscure rite of reviving the dead.  Combining his learnings he offers his knowledge to those daring to go beyond the unspeakable...

Background: The Reborn came out of nowhere, but they use the force, although Luke Skywalker sensed their presence to be kind of 'warped'

» Do you know how the Inquisitors first came into being? They were Jedi once, taken by the dark powers. Tortured and mutilated… «

Whom do you serve? «

» The Reborn Empire! «

» Hunt them down! Do not stop until they are found. You have the Force, you do not know fear. Let the Jedi falter! «

Sometime later…

» Doctor… «

» Ah. Master Tho-Ral, how can I serve? «

» The Reborn. They are … a mess. They are consumed by the Dark Side. How can I lead an army of Dark Jedi, when they DIE AFTER A FEW DAYS?!? Not talking about the Jedi sniffing around… «

» Argh [chokes] This is uncharted territory, master. The subjects are technically already dead, you know?! «

Injecting the substance while killing them stabilizes the transfer. That was a great idea, I have to say. And the last iterations look good, but the M-count -  «

» I DON’T CARE ABOUT THE M-COUNT, DOCTOR!!! «

» Gngh… yes, yes I understand. But just want to let you know, that during my time with the Tantiss  project I heard that a catalyst may help to stabilize the process. «

»Go on. «

» I am no Force user, but what I learned is that a certain… medium could work as a purifier. There is a kyber crystal that Emperor - «

» Do not dare to say his name! «

» I – I am not going to, master. Anyway, you-know-who, he owned an artifact. The Disciples Heart.  «

» So where is this artifact now?!? «

Hello and welcome to this spooky Halloween Special!

I again used my light box, this time with a colored LED array to give the laboratory a mysterious green vibe from below through all the mesh. 

Here you can find the build under white light and different angles. You see, I have only two of them tanks, but that allowed anyway for better placing the minifigs in the middle. So I assumed, the lab is not at full capacity yet

Looks like some horrors are going on in the Doctor's laboratory and the story is shaping up well. Very atmospheric lightning! Great mix of old an new pieces.

Great job as always!  The great amount of equipment works perfectly for the lab!

I should have known the Empire Reborn is here - I'm not too savvy in terms of Legends (or even Canon, for that matter) lore... But I personally don't need Halloween specials to explore the horrors of the Star Wars universe in my upcoming freebuilds...

Ah, me neither,  actually. I read a few books at young age, like the Thrawn trilogy, Jedi Academy and the black fleet trilogy.

I'm pulling some of the stuff I consider interesting or good from the legends continuum and bring it up here and there. We are anyway all creating our own unofficial "Mysteryverse" here, aren't we? 

The Empire Reborn I read about on wookieepedia but I do not intend to recreate the story. I borrow some of the content from Jedi Outcast and Academy video games though and also from new canon, here explicitly from The Bad Batch.

That's exactly what I am doing. What I am posting in Mysteries is actually only a pale foreword for my insane headcanon, which incorporates elements of both Legends and Disney Canon, but the historical, technological, ideological and Force-related aspects are twisted in an almost irreconcilable way. One of the most insignificant changes are that Darth Vader didn't get his famous costume immediately, his wife gave birth to Luke and Leia long after Obi-Wan went hiding ("I haven't gone by the name of Obi-Wan since long before you were born") and lived with the Organas (Leia remembered her in ROTJ). I don't consider anything outside the original OT canon (and my perfect ANH has Obi-Wan's talk with Luke in its initial, more logical order, and the deleted scene where Luke meets Biggs in the hangar and Garven Dreis tells Luke that as a kid he met his father), but I like Thrawn and belive neither Canon or Legends did him justice. Sorry for the long off-topic...

Great use of some older pieces like the Insectoid legs and old grey pipes. Love your use of the old TIE wing attachments too. And of course the lighting really adds a lot. Great Halloween scene.
