MANDO MAYHEM - 4 -  THE MANDALORIAN CONCLAVE

<< to previous chapter

The Corewraith Hotsprings – a Mandalorian sanctuary somewhere in the icy glaciers on planet Krownest. It is said, that deep in the hot waters the Corewraiths dwell – mysterious and dangerous creatures, born in the planet’s core, spitting boiling water and worshiped by many, only surpassed in their legendary status by the mythical Mythosaurus’ of Mandalore. No Corewraith has haunted the sanctuary for a many years and for now, only nasty ice spiders would call the cavern with the sacred pool their home. Today, Mandalorians from all clans would gather here to hold a conclave. Not all of them are happy; as it’s the first time in centuries an offworlder would be allowed to enter their sanctuary…

Mando_Conclave_03

BoKatan_01

» Mandalorians! Let’s welcome our guest in these sacred halls and listen what they have to offer! «

Mando_Conclave_04

Auxi

» I am Senator Auxi Kray Korbin, Chief Advisor to recently elected Chancellor Mon Mothma. I am here as an ambassador of the New Republic. Both our people have suffered heavily under the stranglehold of the Empire. Although the Empire was shattered, its fragments remain sharp and dangerous. The New Republic offers you an alliance to avert this threat together, for once and for all! What do you say?!«

Mando_Conclave_05

Mando_Brute

» The Mandalore way is the way of strength. If you were strong, you would not come here and beg for help – you and your little Republic. I say, Mandalore has no need for weaklings. And no need for this blasphemy of having you setting foot here, in first place.  «

BoKatan_02

» I think, you misunderstood the Senator. She is offering a partnership. I have heard no word of begging from her mouth. «

Mando_Brute

» Pfft. Partnership. Alliance. Other words for weakness. «

Auxi

» What if the Corewraiths deemed me worthy? Oh yes, I learned about your legends and I demand the Corewraiths’ trial! «

Mando_Brute

» No offworlder has ever challenged the Corewraiths’ judgment! That’s outrageous! Blasphemy!  «

BoKatan_02

» She has all rights to do so. You know it is the way…  «

Mando_Brute

» Yes… It is the way.  «

Mando_Conclave_06

Mando_Brute

» That’s five minutes deep in those hot water caves now. I admit she was brave but she failed. The Corewraiths have spoken.   «

BoKatan_02

» No wait, she’s resurfacing «

Mando_Conclave_07

Mando_Brute

» Then, this is the way!   «

Credits to @Eternal Maul for the heavy blaster rifle the Mandalorian Brute is holding.

Edit : I removed the mentioning of the night of the thousand tears from the intro.

Nice ice cave! And a nice spider!

...I thought this Mysteries game is set in the Legends continuity, though...

Star Wars Mysteries is not part of Star Wars canon and therefore liberties will be taken in regards to characters, timeline, and stories. But we are going to use the Legends timeline as a base from which to work.

Hello @Max_Lego, thanks for the praise :pir_laugh2:

For the liberties taken I see myself backed by the rulebook, see quote above. :shrug_oh_well:

I perceive it this way that we are building our own canon here

Anyway I did not mention Bo-Katan so it's just a (nameless) cameo and Auxi came handy since I wanted to bring this Togruta-minifig somewhere. She may not get more screentime, as this is just about paving the way for Yperio_Bricks's Mando story. Moreover I assumed a similar ice-spider could live anywhere. The hot pool of Maldo Kreis was just an inspiration. So no big deal I hope :pir-huzzah1:

Great job on the ice cave! I really like the water pool ad the stalagmites and stalagtites as well as the upside down techniques.

The story is superb as always! You captured the way of the orthodox Mandalorians well (in person of the bulky Mandalorian warrior. I always find them a bit dumb, slow and shallow (like Paz Vizsla in the Mandalorian series) and you captured that very well   I am definitely in team helmet-off Mandos  ) An a big thanks for your contribution to the mandy Mayham arc :pir-huzzah2:

Nice cave for sure...

Is it really politically correct that some macho mando mercenaries rent their services provided that a woman dive naked into a pond ?

Should be under imperial investigation !

An NONHUMAN woman! Now that's why Voren Na'al claimed that Papa Palps didn't like nonhumans - the Empire was always opposed to bizarre interspecies relationships, and Stormtroopers never have Twi'Lek posters in their barracks...

"Imperial soldier, morale matters, understood?"

This is hilarious :roflmao:  I like the little controversy caused :purrr:

She is not naked, it's a rebel flight suit! *oh2* (no it isn't :innocent:, only out off game the torso is)

But it's not about her being (almost) naked. (Anyway she wouldn't jump inside with her dress on would she?) It's her courage and obscure beasts' judgement that convince the Mandalorian. I thought this would be most in character with them. So blame Lucasfilm :pir_tong2: Above all I'm almost thinking the Mandos make no fuzz about nudity. It's just a temporary state and in this case best suited (pun!) for the situation of having to dive in that pond.

Oh oh, another sleeping dogs I didn't intend to wake up... :iamded_lol:

To whomever censored my image: I don't think that helps. It makes it worse, in fact :roflmao: C'mon it's an orange plastic lego figure! It's just your fantasy where all comes to life :pir-grin:

the true image is under spoiler.

But I find this idea of censoring funny so I pile it on

This is the way... :pir-vader:

Seriously, though, nothing about Mandalorians makes any sense in the new Canon...

I don't recall they were anywhere present in the old canon. But I have not read a lot I must say.

Do you consider the Clone Wars already new or old canon too? There seem to be many Mandalorian episodes.

Btw I thought initially that everything that happend before RotJ is both old and new canon. Also the purge. So that's why I put it here in first attempt.

I personally like how the Mandalorians are portrayed in the new canon. "Making sense" are bold words in a pulp space opera, narrated and iterated for over 40 years :excited:

Clone Wars is both, but back then many fans didn't like their portrayal of Mandalorians, for how it contradicted everything they knew.

"Pulp"?.. It's not 'pulp' by any means, but it's not high art either. Everything in the OT made sense, if you consider them to be separate from the mainstream continuity. And that's why I love the OT. Everything realised after were contradictions, contradicting already conradictionary stuff (for example, TCW contradicts the Prequels in many ways, with the Prequels already contradicting the OT in almost everything).

Fantasy worlds may be unreal, but they should follow basic (imaginary) rules. It's called continuity. Star Wars could've made sense if not the creators' attempts to manage the many contradictory stuff into one continuity (just like the DCAU! Watchtower Database's efforts are futile). It doesn't mean this universe doesn't have potential.

To understand the OT, you need to forget everything you know about Star Wars, George Lucas' statements included. Why didn't the Imperials shoot the escape pod? Because droids weren't supposed to be inside, they are restrained from using it. Why did Vader invite Luke to kill the Emperor? Because he lied - he knew Luke wouldn't agree if told the truth. Why didn't Vader kill the Emperor despite of the many opportunities he had? Because he didn't want toThe Emperor didn't want Luke to kill Vader, they both had all planned - Vader wanted Luke to take his place, so that he could finally rest in peace... There are many conclusions that could be made if being sceptical towards what Canon sources claim. They make sense in the context of the OT

Oh, I was not precise enough. I referred to some literature of the expanded universe. There is a lot of weird (and bad) stuff out there. I don't regret it fell off the cliff as the Disney canon has been set up. There are some good stories and characters that I miss in the new canon though.

Although I like to discuss (and generate views), we're getting off topic here, I guess. It's just a fan build and little non-canonic (old and new) story piece for Mysteries! :pir-huzzah2:

@Professor Thaum would you mind to remove the censorship, please? I hardly believe an orange minifig is to much for the readers eyes. This an AFOL forum after all.
